Everything We Know about Elden Ring So Far

Elden Ring is an action RPG developed by From Software (Creator of the “Souls” Series). You will be playing as the “Tarnished”, a group of people who have been expelled from the kingdom, have returned to this “Lands between”, to retrieve the legendary Elden Ring and become an Elden Lord. In their journey throughout this open-world called the Lands Between, you will encounter various hostile and friendly creatures, as well as fellow Tarnished. In this article, we, MmoGah has gathered every possible information regarding the game to give you a hint about how this game might be.

Lore

The Golden Order has been shattered. Throughout the Lands-Between, Demigods holding shards of the Elden Ring squabble and make war over the ruins of a perfect realm, now abandoned by the golden guidance of the Greater Will.

An outcast arrives as the echoes of this conflict thunder in the distance. Once, their ancestors called the Lands Between home, but the blessed light of grace was lost to their tribe long ago, and they were expelled from the kingdom. They are the Tarnished, and they have returned to claim the Elden Lordship promised to them by legend.

Classes

There are ten confirmed classes in Elden Ring, and each class has its own stats. But 3 of them: Blood Wolf, Champion, and Enchanted Knight, who featured in the Closed Network Test, won’t appear in the game. All confirmed classes who will appear in the final game and starting stats are as follows:

Astrologer: A scholar who reads fate in the stars. Heir to the school of glintstone sorcery. So this class looks like a magic-focus class.

Level: 6

Vigor: 9

Mind: 15

Endurance: 9

Strength: 8

Dexterity: 12

Intelligence: 16

Faith: 7

Arcane: 9

Bandit: A dangerous bandit who strikes for weak points. Excels at ranged combat with bows. So this class appears to be a rouge class.

Level: 5

Vigor: 10

Mind: 11

Endurance: 10

Strength: 9

Dexterity: 13

Intelligence: 9

Faith: 8

Arcane: 14

Confesser: A church spy adept at covert operations. Equally adept with a sword as they are with their incantations.

Starting Stats:

Level: 10

Vigor: 10

Mind: 13

Endurance: 10

Strength: 12

Dexterity: 12

Intelligence: 9

Faith: 14

Arcane: 9

Hero: A Stewart hero, at home with a battleax, descended from a badlands chieftain. And this class appears to be a barbarian-like class.

Level: 7

Vigor: 14

Mind: 9

Endurance: 12

Strength: 16

Dexterity: 9

Intelligence: 7

Faith: 8

Arcane: 11

Prisoner: A prisoner in an iron mask. Studied in glinstone, having loved among the elite prior to sentencing.

Level: 9

Vigor: 11

Mind: 12

Endurance: 11

Strength: 11

Dexterity: 14

Intelligence: 14

Faith: 6

Arcane: 9

Prophet: This is a class featured in the Closed Network Test, and it will likely be featured in the final game. Based on starting stats, this class is most likely to be a Paladin-like class.

Level: 7

Vigor: 10

Mind: 14

Endurance: 8

Strength: 12

Dexterity: 8

Intelligence: 7

Faith: 16

Arcane: 11

Samurai: A capable fighter from the distant Land of Reeds. Handy with katana and longbows. Since we all know what samurai is capable of, I guess no further description is necessary.

Level: 9

Vigor: 12

Mind: 11

Endurance: 13

Strength: 12

Dexterity: 15

Intelligence: 9

Faith: 8

Arcane: 8

Vagabond: A knight exiled from their homeland to wander. A solid, armor-clad origin. Based on this description and starting stats, we can assume this class is more like a tank class and has enough damage to get by.

Level: 9

Vigor: 15

Mind: 10

Endurance: 11

Strength: 14

Dexterity: 13

Intelligence: 9

Faith: 9

Arcane: 7

Warrior: A nomad warrior who fights wielding two blades at once. An origin of exceptional technique. This class is pretty straightforward, but dual-wielding separates him from the Vagabond. So my guess is this class is a warrior-rouge hybrid class.

Level: 8

Vigor: 11

Mind: 12

Endurance: 11

Strength: 10

Dexterity: 16

Intelligence: 10

Faith: 8

Arcane: 9

Elden Ring Items

Weapon:

● Weapon Type

Based on the Closed Network Test, weapons are divided into three major types: Melee, Ranged, Staffs, and Miscellaneous. Melee weapons include Greatsword, Axe, Hammer, Katana, Great Spear, Straight Sword, Dagger, Curved Sword, Double-Edge Sword, and Spear. There will be more of the Ranged weapons and staff, but we only enoutered Light Bow and Glintstone Staffs so far. Also, the player can wield Sacred Seal and a Torch.

● Weapon Stats and Skills

Every weapon has two stats: Attack Powers and Guarded Damage Negation. And attack powers and guarded damage negation differs from various types of damage, such as Physical, Magic, different elemental damage, and most importantly, Critical damage. And one last thing, every weapon has an attribute requirement. A player who wants to wield this weapon should meet or surpass the weapon’s attribute requirement.

Also, Every weapon that appeared in the Closed Network Test has weapon skills, and you can use this kind of skill to perform some powerful attacks during a fight. But We are not sure if every weapon in the final game will have skills, though.

Shield:

Player can also equip with the shield, just like any Souls game. Shield’s attack power is low, but they have way higher Guarded Damage Negation than any weapons.

Ashes of War:

Ashes of War are unique items in the game that can be used to modify weapon or shield abilities and skills, sort of like weapon mods or upgrades. Some of these are limited to the weapon or shield they can be applied to.

Elden Ring Runes

Runes are the main currency of Elden Ring. Much like Souls in the Dark Souls titles, Runes act as the XP and purchasing currency at vendors within The Lands Between. Players will lose their Runes upon death, and a “bloodstain” is generated at the place of death. Returning to this place and reclaiming your runes will allow your to re-aquire them. If you perish a second time before getting there, the Runes will be lost.

Spells in Elden Ring

There are two types of Spells in the game: Glintstone Sorcery and Incantations. A player should have enough intelligence points to cast Glintstone Sorcery and enough Faith points to cast Incantations.

These are slightly more detailed aspects of the Elden Ring information we have by far. There is some information regarding the armor and crafting materials, but there is too little to come by. Also, MmoGah will continue following any news regarding the Elden Ring after it's release day (which is Feburary 25th) and should you in need of any in-game items or currencies, be sure to take a look at our website and find out what you need.
