Map juicing is one of the most powerful ways to boost your endgame rewards in Path of Exile 2. Just like upgrading your gear, enhancing your maps can significantly increase your chances of finding valuable loot.

While the system may seem overwhelming at first—especially for new players—grasping the basics will unlock a whole new level of efficiency and profit. In this guide, we'll walk you through the key steps to juicing your maps and share practical tips on crafting solid gear to support your journey.

How to Juice Tier 15 Maps

Map juicing is a key strategy for maximizing loot in PoE 2's endgame. Here, I'll walk you through how to juice Tier 15 maps effectively. Here are all the necessary currencies in advance to demonstrate the process smoothly, but keep in mind, you don't need to use every currency shown. If you're on a budget, feel free to skip the more expensive options. The goal is to boost both item quantity and rarity, which greatly increases your chances of finding more PoE currency and valuable items like Divine Orbs.

You don't need to juice maps below Tier 15 unless you're already farming them comfortably. Tier 15 maps can be obtained through drops, Atlas passive tree investment, or by recombining three Tier 14 maps using Doryani's Reforging Bench (if available). Personally, I prefer fully juicing maps over farming mechanics like Essences or Wisps, as it offers better returns. Once you understand the basics, you'll unlock a much more efficient and profitable endgame farming experience.

Instead of spending multiple currencies, you should:

1. Use an Orb of Alchemy to turn white maps rare.

2. Aim for five mods with "1 revive available," which ensures strong modifiers.

3. If needed, apply Orbs of Augmentation, Regal Orbs, and Exalted Orbs in PoE 2 until the map reaches the desired state.

4. Once your Tier 15 maps show "1 revive available" with five mods, they're fully juiced and ready for high-reward farming—no need to use more currency.

Desecrated Map Mods Explained

Why should you stop at five mods on tier 15 maps? Adding a sixth with an Exalted Orb is a waste, since the Preserved Vertebrae will automatically add the sixth mod when used.

How it works: Vertebrae desecrates the map, creating a new "desecrated" version with an additional modifier.

Possible outcomes: Double positives (e.g., +50–100% experience and +20% item drop chance).

A mix of one negative and one positive (e.g., tougher rare monsters but higher loot chance).

Key tip: Always stop at five mods and let the Vertebrae handle the sixth, saving valuable currency.

Using Omen of Chaotic Rarity on Maps

We highlight the Omen of Chaotic Rarity, a pricey upgrade worth about 21 Exalted Orbs. This item replaces all existing modifiers on a map with new ones that specifically boost item rarity and sometimes quantity. It's not essential—players on a budget can skip it—but it's highly valuable for maximizing loot if you have the extra currency.

Practical Application

When applied, maps with little or no rarity (e.g., 0% or 16%) can jump to 90%+ item rarity, massively improving drop quality. However, there's no reason to waste the Omen on maps that already have decent rolls (like 60%+). We demonstrate organizing maps after using the Omen, separating those with high rarity to prioritize them for farming.

Best Desecrat Map Modes

Adding the Sixth Mod with Preserved Vertebrae

After applying chaos and Omen of Chaotic Rarity, the next step is to use Preserved Vertebrae to add a sixth modifier. This process desecrates the map, creating a "desecrated mod" with new prefixes or suffixes. The mods can provide strong benefits such as 25–40% increased item rarity, additional pack size, or more rare monsters. Some mods may come with downsides, but the trade-off is often worth it for the extra loot potential.

Identifying Valuable Mods

Players should look for mods that maximize rarity and pack size. Examples include Marked for Death (40% rarity + 10% pack size), or Union (50% increased rare monsters). Mods tied to Abyssals are especially valuable—if a map rolls "Area is overrun by Abyssals" with 14–18 additional pits, it can be resold for 1–2 Divine Orbs, depending on the roll. High rolls like 17 or 18 pits fetch top prices and are highly sought after.

Strategy and Value

When unveiling maps at the Well of Souls, use tools to identify which mods are worth keeping. Prioritize high rarity and pack size for farming efficiency, and always separate high-value rolls such as the Abyssal pits. These can either be used for farming massive loot or sold on the market for a significant profit.

Best Liquid Emotions to Add to Your Maps

Once maps are unveiled, the next stage of juicing involves Liquid Emotions (previously called Distilled Emotions). These PoE 2 items can add unique effects to maps, such as increasing rare monsters or boosting pack size. For example, using the Paranoia variant significantly increases the number of rare monsters, while Guilt increases pack size—perfect for players aiming to farm more experience.

Practical Example of Paranoia

Applying one Paranoia adds around +30% rare monsters to a map. Stacking multiple—such as three—can push this number to +75% rare monsters, creating a much denser and more rewarding map. The more Liquid Emotions you add, the tougher the map becomes, but the rewards scale with the added difficulty.

Strategy for Juicing

We show fully juicing maps with Paranoia to maximize rare spawns and loot potential. While different Liquid Emotions offer various benefits, players should select based on their goals—whether it's loot rarity, pack size for XP farming, or other modifiers. This step pushes maps closer to their maximum farming efficiency.

Corrupting The Maps to Tier 16

The Final Step: Vaal Orbs and RNG

After completing all structured juicing steps, the last phase is to use Vaal Orbs, which introduces heavy RNG. Corrupting a map can downgrade it from tier 15 to tier 14, add or replace modifiers, or, in the best-case scenario, upgrade it to tier 16.

High Risk, High Reward

Vaal Orbs can undo much of the previous work, but they also provide the chance for huge gains. In this example, one map successfully upgraded to tier 16, resulting in 135 item rarity and 45 rare monsters—an extremely valuable map. With additional effects from irradiated, fractured, or corrupted bonuses, such a map could even reach tier 18, offering incredible loot potential.

Final Outcome

Not every attempt is successful; some maps lose rarity or have weaker modifiers after corruption. However, most of the results turned out positive, proving that while risky, Vaal Orbs can push maps to their juiciest form and maximize endgame rewards.

What to Look For in the Endgame Atlas Map

Maximizing Tower Overlaps

The final step of map juicing is understanding tower overlaps. When traveling through a map, look for areas where two or more towers overlap. Overlaps multiply the juicing effect: two towers double it, and in rare cases, three or even four towers can stack together, massively boosting map rewards.

How to Use Towers Effectively

Before activating a tower, place a six-modded map into it. Choose a setup that's manageable and difficult but still has six mods since this unlocks the full potential of the tower and allows you to insert three tablets. With a three-tower overlap, that's nine tablets juicing nearby maps, creating some of the most profitable farming opportunities possible.

Key Takeaway

Towers are essential to making juicing worthwhile. Without properly using overlaps, much of the effort spent on preparing maps is wasted. By targeting multi-tower zones and filling them with six-mod maps, players ensure maximum loot efficiency and rewards.

Best Tablets to use

Choosing Tablets for Juicing

The focus is on Irradiated, Breach, and Ritual tablets, since these spawn large numbers of monsters. Players can approach them in two main ways:

Quantity of Items – Tablets can roll +3–7% item quantity. Prioritize the higher rolls (6–7%) to maximize loot, especially in multi-tower overlaps. White tablets can be upgraded with Greater or Perfect versions for even better results.

Experience Farming – Instead of item quantity, aim for +5–10% experience on tablets. Pair this with Breach and Ritual for maximum mobs, since more monsters mean faster XP gain.

Synergy with Liquid Guilt

To further boost your experience in farming, use Liquid Guilt, which increases pack size. Larger packs directly enhance the value of experience-focused setups, making this combination one of the most efficient strategies for leveling while juicing maps.

The Best Unique Tablet to Use

Using Visions of Paradise for Maximum Value

The final step of map juicing involves the Visions of Paradise tablet, one of the priciest items at around 195 Exalted Orbs. Its power comes from irradiated maps: when completed, these maps don't close, letting you run them again. By combining Visions of Paradise with irradiated, Breach, and Ritual tablets on overlapping towers, you can maximize both item quantity and map efficiency.

Triple-Tower Strategy

In a three-tower setup, the strategy is to path carefully and juice maps in stages:

First tower → add irradiated with maximum item quantity, plus Breach and Ritual.

Second tower → repeat the same setup from a different path to avoid wasting maps.

Third tower → apply Breach, Ritual, and Visions of Paradise.

This ensures that every irradiated map hit by the final tower can be completed twice, producing super juiced runs with massive item drops and currency rewards.

What's the Best Way to Path Through Towers?

Pathing with the Grand Project

Efficient pathing between towers is crucial for juicing maps. One option is using the Grand Project, a cheaper, unique tablet that grants access to any map. It can help uncover fog quickly or allow you to jump between towers without sacrificing key maps. However, it does take up a slot that could otherwise hold a quantity or quality tablet, so players must weigh the trade-off.

Using Scuffed Maps for Pathing

If you prefer not to use the Grand Project, you can instead path with scuffed or failed maps. These include corrupted maps with poor modifiers or ones altered by unwanted distilled emotions. By reserving these low-value maps for pathing, you save your well-rolled and juiced maps for optimal tower setups.

Final Notes

This concludes the full map juicing strategy. While the process involves many steps, it's designed to maximize loot and efficiency.
