Dreadmyst Melee Cleric Kandorys Undercourse Solo Dungeon Guide – Build & Boss Strategy
This guide, shared by Grenton on his YouTube channel, is a breakdown of builds and gameplay for the Kandorys Undercourse, which is currently the final solo dungeon available in Dreadmyst. This dungeon is noticeably more demanding, but with the right setup and careful play, it is absolutely manageable—especially for Cleric, who currently has the strongest self-sustain for solo content.
Recommended Gear and Stat Priorities
Key Stat Focus
- Strength: Your primary damage stat as a melee Cleric. (Holy Barricade of the Ravaging Elephant shield is good)
- Melee Critical Chance: Extremely valuable—frequent crits are the core of this build.
- Willpower: Increases healing effectiveness and scales very well with Strength.
- Weapon Value: Strong overall damage multiplier.
- Health: Clerics have a naturally small HP pool, making survivability a priority.
Some gear slots are placeholders, but certain pieces—such as rings with weapon value or Strength/Willpower combinations—are worth keeping long-term. Courage, on the other hand, provides little value for melee Clerics and should generally be avoided.
Attribute Allocation Breakdown
Here’s how the stats are distributed and why:
Health: ~1200 points: Necessary to compensate for limited healing and low base HP.
Strength: ~200 base: Required to equip mid-tier heavy armor. Higher tiers (like titanium) need 300 Strength, which this build cannot reach efficiently.
Agility: ~75: Meets armor requirements.
Willpower: ~100: Boosts healing output.
Remaining Points: Invested to increase Fortitude, which reduces incoming damage in PvP. Hitting ~400 Fortitude is ideal.
No points were placed into regeneration or meditate.
Melee Crit ~400 points: Core stat for this build.
Spell Power: None
Fire Resistance: Fire-based damage is the most dangerous threat in both PvE and PvP, so you can put some spare points into this.
Weapon Skills
- Maces: 50 points
- Shields: 30 points
Spells: You can maximize the skills that can be leveled, but skip Heal and Desperate Prayer, as Heal is rarely used and not worth the points, and Desperate Prayer is expensive in skill points. The recommended abilities are:
- Blessing of Health (always active)
- Greater Heal
- Spark of Light
- Rejuvenation
- Blessed Shield
- Discipline (damage reduction)
How to Unlock Kandorys Undercourse
To access this dungeon, you need an Undercourse Key, obtained in one of two ways:
Method One:
- Complete the Barracks solo dungeon, and the final boss drops a Depleted Key.
- Elite enemies in Hillsfar Dale drop a Dale Gem.
- Combine both items to create the Undercourse Key.
Alternative Option:
Players can also buy the key directly from others for around 50,000 gold. If you are short of gold, you can buy Dreadmyst gold from MmoGah, a reliable place that has been in the market for two decades.
Dungeon Overview & Enemy Mechanics
Kandorys Undercourse is more compact than the Barracks but significantly more dangerous.
Key Enemy Types
- Dishonored Sorcerers: Cast powerful fire spells that must be interrupted.
- Undead Horrors: Stack bleeding effects rapidly and are the most lethal enemies in the dungeon.
General Strategy
- Avoid pulling multiple Horrors at once.
- Use fear effects to isolate targets.
- Rotate defensive buffs constantly.
- Interrupt fire casts immediately.
- Bleed stacking is the primary cause of deaths here—not raw auto-attack damage.
Lockpicking Requirement
100 Lockpicking is required to open valuable chests in Atmar’s Fall and Decrepit Tower. If you plan to solo content regularly, this skill is mandatory.
Boss Fight
Boss Mechanics
- Frequently casts Howl of Terror (fear)
- Uses Charge + Hamstring if you move out of melee range
- Deals primarily physical damage
Fight Strategy
- Stay in melee range whenever possible.
- Rotate interrupts to stop the fear cast.
- If an interrupt isn’t available, briefly step away and prepare for the charge.
- Defensive cooldowns should be saved for charge recovery moments.
Compared to the Barracks boss, this encounter is far more forgiving once mechanics are understood.
Final Thoughts
While Kandorys Undercourse is mechanically intense, it’s surprisingly fair once you learn enemy behavior. The biggest threats are the double-pulled Undead Horrors and uninterrupted fire spells. Classes with strong self-healing—particularly Cleric and Paladin—have a major advantage here. Other classes may struggle without perfect execution or superior gear. If you’re aiming to master solo PvE in Dreadmyst, Kandorys Undercourse is a true test—but also one of the most rewarding experiences currently available.
