Welcome to my TBC Classic Phase 2 Warlock Gearing Guide. Here I'm going to show you the best Gems, Consumables, Tier 5 gear, Trinkets, Weapons, Wands, and Best in Slot (BiS) items. Let's get started.
The first ones are Gems, which are the same as Phase 1. Your Meta Gym is still Chaotic Skyfire Diamond, and you can use Blue Socket for Nightseye. Using these Gems (as the image shows) is ok. I know there are a couple of other Gems that you can use, but these are the only Gems you'll see on my character.
Next up is Consumables. I'm not going to go over each of them. Destruction Potion and Mana Potion are on Tier 5 content right now.
I'm using Destruction Potions on trash and Mana Potions on bosses, but many people are using the wrong Flasks or Haste Potions instead of Destruction Potions or Mana Potions. These Haste Potions are melee haste, so don't worry about them. Make sure Felguard is using Kibler's Bits, fire, and Flame Caps.
It is the second raid tier that can drop from TBC raids. Hood of the Corruptor is a viable piece from Lady Vashj. With the Leggings of the Corruptor, my Fathom-Lord is pretty good. Now I have Robe of the Corruptor from TK Garbage, Mantle of the Corruptor from Void Reaver Garbage, and Gloves of the Corruptor from Leotheras. Now, this is absolute trash for every spec in the game, except for Felguard.
The following are additional bonuses granted on how many pieces of the set you have equipped.
2 Pieces: Cause your pet to be healed for 15% of the damage you deal.
4 Pieces: Your Shadow Bolt spell hits to increase the damage of Corruption by 10%, and your Incinerate spell hits to increase the damage of Immolate by 10%.
There are two new Helmets. One is Destruction Holo-gogs (Engineering), the other is Hood of the Corruptor (Lady Vashj SSC). They both have a Meta Socket and Blue Socket.
Destruction Holo-gogs is Best in Slot(BiS). However, this is an Engineering-only item. If you are not Engineering, then Hood of the Corruptor is BiS. You should keep using Voidheart Crown until obtaining the Meta Socket.
In the game, only Necklace matters for every single spec. The Sun King's Talisman (Kael'thas - TK) is your BiS in Phase 2. In the meantime, you have three pieces of Necklaces.
Both Adornment of Stolen Souls and Brooch of Unquenchable Fury can be used for Fire and Shadow Destruction if you lack Spell Hit or want to get more crits. Ritssyn's Lost Pendant remains very strong.
Voidheart Mantle (High King Maulgar - Gruul's Lair) is your BiS item. While Mantle of the Corruptor (Void Reaver - TK) has slightly better stats than Voidheart Mantle, it is not worth dropping your Tier 4 2-piece bonus for such a minor upgrade.
There are three new items - Vestments of the Sea-Witch that drops from Lady Vashj - SSC, Robe of the Corruptor, and Robe of Hateful Echoes. Lady Vashj is the last boss in the system and probably the hardest boss in T5. Vestments of the Sea-Witch is an epic cloth chest armor for DPS casters and your BIS item, which is extremely strong. Both Robe of the Corruptor and Robe of Hateful Echoes are good to use. You need Spell Hit or Crit while you are waiting for your Vestments.
Spellstrike Pants are still BiS going through Phase 2. It has 2 sockets, one more than Leggings of the Corruptor, so just barely beating it out. T5 Legs are a very good alternative.
Icon of the Silver Crescent and Quagmirran's Eye are BiS for every spec that you can mark the champion on any demons. They will be your ideal trinkets for their great passive Spell Power and effects.
As for weapons, Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian, is a very powerful weapon in TBC and a personal DPS loss as it buffs your party members. This is an insanely good weapon, and you can wear it until T6.
The new Off-hand weapon is Fathomstone, which is great for every spec in the game. It will beat Orb of the Soul-Eater if you can get your hands on it. Flametongue Seal is still BiS for Fire Destruction. Orb of the Soul-Eater and Khadgar's Knapsack are both still strong Off-hand weapons for Shadow Destruction.
Wand of the Forgotten Star is BiS for both Shadow and Fire Destruction for Phase 2. Based on your current Spell Hit, you can use Tirisfal Wand of Ascendancy, The Black Stalk, or Eredar Wand of Obliteration.
