FFXIV Patch 6.3 Release Date
Details about patch 6.3 were first revealed in a developers' stream back in November 2022. Even though they mentioned that more details would be revealed soon, they have been radio silent regarding the topic for almost two months. However, Square Enix recently dropped an entire patch note of the upcoming Patch 6.3 only days before its release. The upcoming FFXIV Patch 6.3 is planned to release on January 10, and its maintenance break will take place from January 9, 2023, 6:00 p.m. to January 10, 2023, 2:00 a.m. (PST).
FFXIV Patch 6.3 New Content
The new update is titled "Gods Revel, Lands Tremble" and has planned to bring a ton of new content to the game, including new Quests, Areas, FATEs, Treasure Hunts, and many more. Out of the bunch, there were a few that stood out, and here's a quick look at some of the important playable content being added.

- • Players will be able to explore the Upper La Noscea area by simply swimming or even diving.
- • New main scenario quests have been added to expand the storylines of the ongoing main stories.
- • Chronicles of a New Era quests have been added, including Myths of the Realm.
- • New side story quests have been added, including Tales of Newfound Adventure, Tataru's Grand Endeavor, and more.
- • New changes to FATEs include new items and other difficulty changes.
- • New Treasure Hunts have been added, including Ophiotauroskin Treasure Maps, The Shifting Gymnasion Agonon, and more.
- • New Grand and Free Companies changes include new craftable items, new Charge symbol options, and other adjustments to subaquatic voyages.
- • New Housing includes Furnishings from the FFXIV Furnishing Design Contest, new original Furnishings, and other QoL changes.
- • Other miscellaneous content includes new Clothing, changes to the Sanctuary, new hairstyle options, new items, and new emotes.

FFXIV Patch 6.3 Other Changes
Apart from all the aforementioned new content, Patch 6.3 also brings a few changes to its Battle System and PvP as well. FFXIV Patch 6.3 Battle System changes don't include much but a UI update to some of the menus, the addition of the new dungeon, Lapis Manalis, and a few new trials. Similarly, PvP changes don't include much but a few balancing changes and the begging of Series 3. A new Arena, the Clockwork Castletown, has also been added.
