Top 5 ESO Houses You Should Have

By Michel Z2021-05-06

There are many good reasons to have a house in The Elder Scrolls Online. Not only do houses get you ported back to town for free from a Delve or a Dungeon you happen to be stuck in, but you'll also have access to that town's resource, service, Merchants, Bankers, and Crafting Table, etc.

However, not every town is created equal. Some provide access to more services than others, so some houses will be better to purchase than others. In this video, Kalam0n will list the top five useful houses you should have in ESO. All of these homes are pretty cheap. You can get a couple of them for free, and even the most expensive one is at 56,000 ESO gold.

5. Golden Gryphon Garret in Alinor (Inn) – 3,000 Gold

Alinor is the hub city of the Summerset Expansion and, as such, has all the amenities you would expect in any major city. Not only does this Inn room provides excellent access to the Stablemaster, Merchants, Banker, and Crafting Stations, but you'll also have access to the Battlemaster, Event Merchant, and the Outlaws Refuge.

If you have a character that hasn't completed the intro housing quest and unlocked a free Inn room, you can get this one for free.

The only downside is that this Inn room is on the opposite side of the city, so it's not near the Wayshrines and the Crafting Stations. However, it still provides great access to all the services.

4. Flaming Nix Deluxe Garret in Mournhold (Apartment) – 13,000 Gold

Mournhold is the capital of the Ebonheart Pact, so it is one of the major trading hubs in ESO. Not only does this Apartment provide access to all the amenities of a capital city, but you'll find yourself coming to Mournhold often if you do any trading on the Guild Traders, as some of the biggest trading Guilds are based in Mournhold.

As an Apartment, you can't get the Flaming Nix for free. But it is only 13,000 gold, which makes it very reasonable for even new players to pick up. Also, it will get you a lot more Furnishing slots if you are interested in decorating or setting up your own Crafting Stations within the Apartment yourself.

The only downside to Mournhold is that the Crafting Stations are broken up into different buildings. Other than that, this is a great place to call home.

3. Captain Margaux's Place in Daggerfall (Small Home) – 56,000 Gold

Daggerfall isn't the capital of the Covenant, but it is still a great town to have a house in. Daggerfall offers access to all the standard amenities you'd find in any major town. Since it's not a capital city, it doesn't have seven guild traders. But there's still a lot of Guild trading happening here.

The Captain's house here counts as a small home, so it's a little more expensive than the previous two. At 56,000 gold, this might be out of reach for a brand new player, but by the time you're pushing Champion levels, it should be within your reach to purchase.

This house gets bonus points for being so close to the Banker, but it also suffers from having Crafting Stations split up across the city.

2. Sugar Bowl Suite in Rimmen (Inn) – 3,000 Gold

Since Rimmen serves as the hub city for the Elsweyr Expansion, and it has all the amenities you need. Unlike the other Inn rooms in ESO, it has an exterior door. Thus, you can go to the Wayshrines and the rest of the city without having to go through a second door, which means you can teleport outside the Inn room and be right next to the Wayshrine.

If you have a character that hasn't completed the intro to housing quest, you can get this Inn room for free. If not, it's only 3,000 gold.

Rimmen has one of the best Crafting setups in the game, with all the Crafting Stations out in the open air, next to the Writ boards. Also, the Writ turn-in isn't too far away. The only downside of Sugar Bowl Suite is that it requires the Elsweyr Expansion to purchase.

1. Snugpod in Elden Root (Small Home) – 45,000 Gold

Elden Root is the capital of Aldmeri Dominion, meaning that Snugpod provides access to all the same amenities as Captain Margaux's Place. But Snugpod is more centrally located within the city, with the Stablemaster, Outlaws Refuge, and Undaunted Enclave outside the door.

Snugpod is a small Home, so it is a little more expensive than Inns and Apartment. This Home will cost you 45,000 gold. But for most new players, that should be within your reach in the first couple of months. If you've got the TESO gold to spare, there's no reason to refrain from purchasing Snugpod.

Those are the top five homes you should own in ESO. For only 120,000 ESO money, you can get all these five homes. Even if you can only afford to pick up one or two of these homes today, it still means that all of your characters have access to a free port to a major city, which will make your life a lot easier in the game.
