Big News! Blizzard has officially announced that WoW: Wrath of the Lich King Classic is set to arrive in 2022.
Originally launched in 2008, Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK) is the second expansion set for the MMORPG World of Warcraft, following The Burning Crusade (TBC). Not every feature found in the original WotLK will be present in this new expansion. WotLK Classic may be even more old-school than some players remember. Here MmoGah.com would like to share with you the details, including a new class & a profession, no dungeon finder, level 70 boost, dungeons & raids changes, etc. Some content of this article is quoted from the Official WoW Site.
Death Knight is the first hero class in WoW. Available to both factions and starting at level 55. It can be created with no prerequisites and will be available in the Pre-Patch on Classic realms for WotLK Classic.
This new profession allows players to create glyphs, scrolls, Darkmoon cards, vellum, and various off-hand tomes, which enhance specific abilities or attributes for a character. The Inscription includes a "gathering" skill: milling. This skill creates base materials from herbs and is similar to disenchanting and prospecting.
One of the biggest differences is the absence of a Dungeon Finder system. Original Dungeon Finder will not be available in this new expansion. Blizzard said that the Classic community indicated that the importance of social bonds is a big part of what makes Classic their game of choice
Blizzard will introduce a Level 70 Boost service, and the level cap will be increased to 80, which will be available for anyone who wants to jump straight into WotLK Classic without playing TBC expansion first. The boost will be limited to one per account and can be used on any class except Death Knight.
Blizzard will also explore all the dungeons and raids which appeared from patch to patch, from Azjol-Nerub to Ulduar, building up the forces to take the fight directly to Icecrown and perhaps the most iconic villain in the Warcraft universe, the Lich King himself. This was also the era of a 10-player or 25-player raid, which changed the face of raiding pretty drastically.
Arena Teams will be removed in favor of Personal Arena Ratings as the PvP community has made it clear that they’d prefer the flexibility of rating being personal rather than tied to a fixed team,
Achievements are coming to Classic WotLK, giving players new rewards for their exploits and accomplishments.
There are some questions that trouble players. Here we would like to share our opinion.
The content phases' release schedule for Classic WotLK has been a major point of emphasis among the community. Players speculate that five phases are the most likely outcome as below:
Phase 1: Naxxramas, The Eye of Eternity, The Obsidian Sanctum
Phase 2: Ulduar
Phase 3: Trial of the Crusader, Onyxia's Lair
Phase 4: Icecrown Citadel
Phase 5: The Ruby Sanctum
Players might want to take note of how Blizzard is handling the transition from TBC to WotLK Classic. When TBC was first announced, Blizzard allowed players to choose to stay in the original Classic or move to TBC.
For the new expansion, Blizzard production director Patrick Dawson said that not many people currently in TBC want to stick around in that expansion anyway, so we speculate that there won't be an option to keep characters in the TBC expansion and everyone who's already in TBC should move on to WoW WotLK Classic, so your TBC Classic gold will also be moved to the new expansion.
Most players want to know when WotLK Classic will come. It will come later this year, 2022, but Blizzard has not announced the exact date.
The initial WotLK release date was November 13, so we conjecture that Wrath of the Lich King Classic's release date is somewhere in November 2022. Let's wait and see.
