The Gold Road Chapter is an eagerly awaited addition to the already extensive RPG universe of The Elder Scrolls Online. Scheduled for release in June on all platforms, with PC and Mac versions releasing on June 3 ahead of its console launch on June 18, this Chapter promises to bring exciting new features to the game.
Brand New System: Scribing
One of the most anticipated additions is the Scribing system. Players will be able to collect and customize unique skills called Grimoires across ESO's open-world zones through various means. These skills will have primary, secondary, and tertiary effects, which can be altered and built upon with socketable Scripts, offering endless opportunities for new builds across all classes.
In addition to the Scribing system, Gold Road will feature 22 collectible styles that can be applied to customizable Grimoires, allowing players to personalize their characters' visual style.
New Adventure
Besides a new main story, the Gold Road Chapter will introduce a new zone called West Weald, which is located between Cyrodiil, Gold Coast, Reaper's March, and Craglorn. The new zone features new quests, delves, points of interest, and a new 12-player trial called Lucent Citadel.
The Chapter will delve into the politics of a faction of Bosmer splintered off from the Valenwood named the Recollection and their involvement with the newly-introduced 18th Daedric Prince, Ithelia.
ESO 2024 Roadmap
Zenimax has also announced its plans for the content of 2024:
Quarter 1: Two new dungeons, Oathsworn Pit and Bedlam Veil, will be coming to ESO.
Quarter 2: Update 42 will come out in the second quarter of 2024, bringing the Gold Road Chapter and new content like the Scribing system and a new trial.
Quarter 3: There will be something big related to ESO's player houses, but no one knows what that is yet.
Quarter 4: There will be a new PvP feature. Also, the release of two new Companions for Gold Road has been postponed to the last quarter of 2024.
Overall, The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road is poised to offer a wealth of new content and features for both new and veteran players. With its release approaching, anticipation is high for the new Scribing system, the expansive new zone, and the compelling narrative that awaits players in this latest Chapter of the game.
