PoE 2 Gemling Amulet Crafting Guide: The Ultimate +4 All Skills & 5% Quality Necklace

In Path of Exile 2, your amulet is one of the single most impactful gear slots for raw character power. For the Gemling Legionnaire, an amulet packing +4 to all skill levels and 5% skill quality can easily double your damage — or more. Whether you're running Flame Blast, Spark, or any other Gemling setup, the crafting method is essentially universal. Below is the complete, battle-tested process.

On crafting costs: This amulet demands a hefty stock of high-tier currency and Omens — Divine Orbs, Perfect Essences, and rare Omens add up fast. If grinding PoE 2 Currency is slowing you down, or you'd rather skip the farming loop and jump straight into crafting, you can source PoE 2 Currency through reputable third-party platforms. Just stick to trusted channels and trade safely.

I. Materials Checklist

Before you start, gather everything. Running out mid-craft is painful.

Core materials:

• Fractured +3 Spell Skill base — Gold or Stellar bases are ideal; Absent works but costs far more

• Omen of Dextral Exaltation — guarantees the Exalted Orb adds a suffix

• Dextral Crystallisation + Essence of Breach — removes a suffix and adds the "Jewels have 20% maximum quality" modifier

• Life / Defence / Mana Catalyst — pick based on your build

• Omen of Catalysing Exaltation — converts catalyst quality into a much higher chance of hitting the matching modifier

• Omen of Whittling — makes Chaos Orbs remove the lowest-level modifier

• Omen of Black Blood + Abyssal Echoes — for the final quality desecration

• Basic currency — Chaos Orbs, Prismatic Souls, etc.

II. Step-by-Step Crafting Process

Step 1: Secure a Fractured +3 Spell Base

Start with a fractured +3 to all spell skills amulet. Gold bases are the best value; Stellar bases cost more but roll better. Absent bases work too, but +3 on Absent is prohibitively expensive.

Once you have the base, Annul away every other modifier until only +3 Spell Skills remains. This is RNG-heavy, but patience pays off.

Step 2: Chaos Spam for T1 Spirit

Roll Chaos Orbs until you hit Tier 1 Spirit. Spirit is critical for Gemling — it determines how many auras and buffs you can run.

At this point, your amulet should have exactly two modifiers: +3 Skills and T1 Spirit.

Step 3: Add a Suffix with Dextral Exaltation

Use Omen of Dextral Exaltation + Exalted Orb. This guarantees a suffix rather than a random prefix or suffix. The actual suffix doesn't matter — it's just a placeholder.

Step 4: Swap the Suffix for the Breach Quality Mod

Now use Dextral Crystallisation + Essence of Breach. This removes the random suffix and adds the "Jewels have 20% maximum quality" modifier.

The key here: this Breach quality mod doesn't count toward the normal 6-modifier limit. That's how you end up with a full 6-mod amulet plus 40% quality.

Step 5: Catalyst + Exalt for Life / Defence / Mana

This is the make-or-break step.

• Life builds: Use Life Catalyst to push quality to 40%, then activate Omen of Catalysing Exaltation + Perfect Exalted Orb. You have a very high chance of hitting T1 Maximum Life.

• ES builds: Use Defence Catalyst for % Energy Shield — though this is a 1-in-3 shot.

• Mana builds: Use Mana Catalyst for T1 Mana.

Warning: This isn't 100% guaranteed. If you hit a random prefix, you'll need to Annul. If the Annul removes +3 Skills or Spirit, you're starting over.

Step 6: Whittling — Move the Quality Mod to a Suffix

Once you have your Life/Defence/Mana mod, use Omen of Whittling + Chaos Orb. This removes the lowest-level modifier — the Breach quality mod.

Since that mod was a prefix and your prefixes are now full (+3, Life, Spirit), it gets pushed to a suffix. If it doesn't move to a suffix, keep whittling. If it does, you're clear.

Step 7: Dextral Crystallisation — Add Global Defence

Use Dextral Crystallisation + Perfect Essence of Enhancement again. This removes the placeholder suffix and adds a Global Defence modifier as a prefix.

Your amulet should now look like:

• Prefixes: +3 Skills, T1 Life/Defence, Global Defence

• Suffix: T1 Spirit

Step 8: Finish the Last Two Suffixes

This part is straightforward. Use a Perfect Exalted Orb to add one suffix, then pair Omen of Dextral Erasure + Greater Chaos Orb to reroll suffixes only. Since this Omen affects suffixes exclusively, your prefixes stay safe.

Spam until you land what you want — resistance, attributes, whatever your build needs. Resistance typically takes 5–6 attempts, roughly 10 Divines.

Step 9: Final Quality & Desecration

The last step is the most expensive and RNG-dependent. Use Omen of Black Blood + Abyssal Echoes and desecrate for the final quality modifier. This can easily eat 10+ Omen of Lights.

Once it lands, you've got your +4 All Skills, 5% Skill Quality amulet.

III. Why This Craft Works

The Breach Essence "hidden mod" trick: The quality modifier from Essence of Breach occupies a mod slot but doesn't count toward the 6-mod cap. That's the loophole that lets you stack full modifiers and 40% quality.

Catalyst probability conversion: Omen of Catalysing Exaltation converts your catalyst quality into a much higher chance of hitting the matching modifier type. 40% catalyst quality = very high, but not guaranteed, odds.

Gemling's quality payoff: Gemling's Advanced Thaumaturgy ascendancy makes skill quality grant additional effects. That's why 5% skill quality is so valuable — it's not just a number; it unlocks extra mechanics.

IV. Cost Estimate & Risk Warning

Realistically, this craft runs 30+ Divine Orbs on average luck:

• Fractured base: 8–9 Divines

• Omens: ~2 Divines each, multiple needed

• Perfect Exalted Orbs: pricey

• Final desecration: potentially 10+ Omen of Lights

Risk warning: This is a high-investment, high-reward craft. If you accidentally Annul away +3 Skills or Spirit at any point, you restart from scratch. Only attempt when your currency reserves are healthy.

If you've already got a geared Gemling, this amulet is absolutely worth the investment — expect your damage to roughly double, if not more. Stock up on PoE 2 Currency, follow the steps, and good luck. May your Exalts land where you need them.
