  • Top 10 Best Armor Sets in Elden Ring

    By Shirley Huang2022-04-28

The Lands Between in Elden Ring is vast, and you need to have the strong armor to attack or defend against many monstrous bosses and enemies. There is a whole lot of armor in the game. Armor Sets are complete combinations of individual armor, and they provide players with protection and resistance against all types of damage. Some of them are awesome but really hard to get. You can farm them or use Elden Ring Runes to buy Elden Ring armor sets from merchants. Here we will share the Top 10 Armor Sets you can't afford to miss in Elden Ring.

    1. Jar Helmet

You can be a Jar Warrior. To get Jar Helmet, all you have to do is finish Alexander the Jar Warrior's quest. At first, you can find him outside Stormvale Castle stuck in the ground, and he'll help you defeat Radahn, and then again can be found outside the Divine Tower in Liurnia, once again stuck in a hole. This time you'll need to grease him up with some oil to get him out and then head to the volcano peaks of Mount Gelmir.

If you go to the lava field south from Fort Laiedd and deal with the dragon here, you can find Alexander again hanging out in the middle of some liquid-hot magma. That's where he'll give you this ridiculous piece of equipment, the Jar Helmet. It actually boosts the damage of any throwing pot weapon you use. It's hardly the best bonus piece of armor he gives you, but it doesn't matter. It is a Jar Helmet. You can finally go live among the Jars of Jarbug now.

    2. Godskin Apostle Set

It's got a hood that's made from a face, which is grotesque as hell but also pretty badass. It is an ordeal to get it. The only way to get it is to climb up the outside of the Divine Tower in Caelid, then somehow manage to make it all the way down to the basement of this place. It's a hellish platforming challenge that forces you to make some very unsafe jumps along with multiple falls that would kill you instantly in any place other than this Divine Tower. If you actually make it to the bottom, they thankfully give you a Site of Grace but also force you into a fight with a very beefed-up version of the Godskin Apostle boss. If you manage to beat him, you'll find his armor as your reward.

    3. Black Knife Set

If you really want to go all stealth assassin in your enemies, this is a great armor set, and it's worth hunting down. Found in Ordina, Liturgical Town, on a random corpse. This armor set has the unique bonus of muffling your steps, making it much harder for enemies to notice you when they're not looking directly at you. Sneaking in "Elden Ring" isn't particularly hard, but being able to run around and backstab enemies quickly is just a ton of fun. The armor set itself is pretty hardcore-looking too. If you ever wanted to be a Ringwraith, this is the armor set you want. Getting to Ordina isn't exactly easy, as it can only be reached when you collect two pieces of the Haligtree Secret Medallion. You can get them by exploring Castle Sol on the Mountaintops of the Giants. Once you get to the Village of the Albinaurics, it's pretty easy to find. So get it, put it on, and become the backstabbing king.

    4. Bull-Goat Set

This armor set is one of the absolute best in class if you want some heavy armor with very high poise, as poise is a stat that affects how and when you get staggered from attacks. With high poise, you're less likely to get interrupted by enemy attacks, which could be extremely useful for characters, especially those who focus on strength and use slow-to-swing but high-damage weapons in Elden Ring. Now, this is incredibly heavy to wear. It's one of the few armor sets that's even heavier than Lionel's Set, but if you want 100 poise, this is a great armor set to wear. To get it, you should do these things.

    Elden Ring armor-2

First, get to the Volcano Manor and start the quest there. And crucially, do not kill Patches. If you have not kill him at the beginning of the game, he'll appear in the Manor and give you a job to kill somebody. The dude who wants you to fight is the Great Horned Tragoth, who isn't easy to take down, but if you do it, your reward is his armor set. You can summon Tragoth to help you during the Radahn fight, and his armor set is really worth it.

    5. Twinned Set

One of the coolest armor sets in FromSoftware is the Twinned Set, which literally looks like it is getting two people merged into one set of armor.

    Elden Ring armor-4

It's so unique and cool-looking. Many players want to have it. He hangs out in the Roundtable Hold, but if you manage to start up Fia's questline, he will give you a Dagger hat. If you ask around, you'll find that the weapon belongs to D, and you can give it to him. After you do, please return to the hold later and look at the backroom to find D dead and Fia standing over him. So you can loot this armor for yourself. Later on, you can find his twin brother and give the set over to him. Don't worry. It is temporary, and his quest will continue. But if you don't want to do that,  you can always keep the set for yourself. This armor is a little too out there to wear for some people, but we love how weird it is.

    6. Mushroom Set

To get Mushroom Set, you need to explore this miserable dungeon - Seethewater Cave, which is a place filled with annoying mushroom men and poisoned floors. Still, if you're thorough enough, you'll be able to collect this set, which is a pretty disgusting-looking to wear, but it offers some pretty high resistance bonuses. Its immunity is incredibly high, which protects you from stuff like poison and scarlet rot.

    Elden Ring armor-5

Having this armor equipped for areas like the Lake of Rot can make getting around significantly easier. There are many poison swamps in this game, so it is handy to have some protection from them. It doesn't offer much physical protection, but if all you're doing is trying to get through an annoying swamp area, this armor set can be an absolute godsend.

    7. White Reed Set

This set is good for dexterity characters. One of the all-time greats is found near the end of the game on the Mountaintops of the Giants, and while it takes going to two completely different locations to complete the set, it's very worth it.

To get the first part of the White Reed set, you need to go to the Spiritcaller Cave beside the big frozen lake area. It's the place that requires two Stonesword Keys (you can buy Elden Ring boost to get them) to get into. Inside, you will fight Inaba. After you beat Inaba, it will drop the body, legs, and armor pieces.

To get the headpiece, you'll have to go up the mountain just before the boss arena to the Church of Repose, where you'll get invaded by Bloody Finger Okina. If you manage to kill him, you will get the mask, along with an excellent katana - Rivers of Blood. The mask itself is really useful because it boosts the dexterity by three while lowering focus a little, but all the focus affects is resistance to sleep and madness. These are probably the two rarest status effects in the game.

    8. Lionel's Set

For people who really like heavy armor or just miss the Onion Knight from "Dark Souls", this armor set is worth hunting down.

It's found in a random bed bear the lower capital church site in Leyndell, the Royal Capital, and this armor set's thankfully pretty easy to find if you know where to look. It's one of the heaviest sets of armor in the game, weighing a whopping 51.5 in equipment load once you have everything equipped. So this thing isn't something you're going to be able to equip and move around with a lot of dexterity, so unless you've really got a ton of points invested in endurance, and even then, that might not be enough. But if you're serious about heavy armor, there's few sets that offer as much overall protection like this one.

    9. Lusat's Set

In general, if armor is heavier, it will offer more protection. So the only thing you have to worry about with armor is whether you got a high enough equipment load to wear it. Sometimes certain armor sets can provide additional bonuses that can be very helpful, depending on how you've built your character. This set especially combined with Lusat's Staff, can be incredibly powerful if you're playing as a Magic. To get this wild-looking armor,  you need to complete Sellen's questline, which is thankfully shorter than Ranni's, but it has just about the same amount of cryptic BS. At a certain point, she wants you to find a new body for her, and you have to find an illusionary floor to get it.

After you've done everything and either helped her or defeated her, return to the spot where you found Lusat on the Caelid Highway, and the body will have disappeared, but in its place, you'll find a pickup containing an entire armor set. With it equipped, you will look like a truly insane archmage. You get a huge boost to Lusat's sorceries at the cost of additional FP consumption. When combined with Lusat's Staff, which also gives you a boost to magic, it can really make you a force to be reckoned with.

    10. Blaidd's Set

This is one of the coolest armor sets in the game, and it also happens to be one of the hardest to get. If you want to look like the Half-Wolf Warrior, then you're going to have to work for it. The only way to get this armor is to complete Ranni's entire questline, which is one of the longest and most involved quests in the entire game.

If you want to have this armor set, you should finish some quests. After you complete the entire quest and get the Dark Moon Greatsword, then go back to Ranni's Rise. You will find Blaidd one last time. He's gone mad after losing his master, and the only way to calm him down is to kill him. If you manage to defeat him, you will get his entire armor set, minus one piece, which is the head. That is found elsewhere on a random body on top of some ruins near Seluvis's Rise. And with that, you've got a complete Blaidd costume.

Here is the end of the best armor sets guide. I hope that these Elden Ring guides from MmoGah are helpful for you.
