ESO Companions: Ember Build Guide

Ember is a Khajiit Sorcerer Companion that will be added to The Elder Scrolls Online with the release of this year's new Expansion – High Isle. Ember's unique skills focus on Shock Damage, Protection, and Heals. What is more, her perk – Ember's Intuition, assists with stealing. She can fulfill the roles of Magicka DPS and Healer with great success, but she can also play as a Tank or Stamina DPS.

Where to Find Ember in ESO

You can find Ember near Tor Draioch in Eastern High Isle. To unlock her as your Companion, you need to complete her quest Tower Full of Trouble.

Magicka DPS Build

Gear Setup

Ember can use a mix of Light and Medium armor (full Medium if you wish) with Aggressive and a few Quickended pieces. Lighting staff is used to amplify her Shock Mage setup, and Fire or Ice can also work.

 

Skill Setup

Thunderous Strike can be used when the enemy is below 25% Health, making it a powerful execute skill.

Hurricane Visage allows the Companion to manifest themselves as pure lightning, zapping nearby enemies with Shock Damage. While in this form, the Companion's damage taken will be reduced by 20%. 

Shared Wards grants a damage shield for the Companion and their nearby allies, and targets affected by the shield will also be healed.

Shocking Burst allows the Companion to deal AoE Shock damage.

Crystal Blast is a powerful burst damage ability.

Raging Storm is an Ultimate skill dealing AoE Shock Damage.

 

Healer Build

Gear Setup 

As a Healer, Ember can wear Light armor with a mix of Soothing and Quickened pieces, and any two-handed weapon will work.

 

Skill Setup

Mystic Fortress is a potent shield skill that protects Companions and the lowest ally around them, granting a damage shield that absorbs damage.

Hurricane Visage allows the Companion to manifest themselves as pure lightning, zapping nearby enemies with Shock Damage. While in this form, the Companion's damage taken will be reduced by 20%. 

Shared Wards grants a damage shield for the Companion and their nearby allies, and targets affected by the shield will also be healed.

Quick Fix is an ability that heals the Companion or an ally.

Mending Incantation heals the Companion and their allies in front of them. This skill also grants Spell and Physical Resistance.

Raging Storm is an Ultimate skill dealing AoE Shock Damage.

 

Stamina DPS Build – Two-Handed

Gear Setup

Ember can equip medium armor with a mix of Aggressive and Quickened pieces, and any two-handed weapon will work for this build.

Skill Setup

Thunderous Strike can be used when the enemy is below 25% Health, making it a powerful execute skill.

Staggering Swing deals Physical Damage, stunning and knocking back enemies. 

Sunder is a direct and DoT ability, and it allows Companions to slice all enemies in front of them with a mighty swing, making this skill great against groups of enemies.

Stamina DPS Build – Dual Wield

Gear Setup

Ember can equip Medium armor with a mix of Aggressive and Quickened pieces for better skill cooldown. As for the weapons, she can use dual daggers or axe/sword and dagger.

 

Skill Setup

Thunderous Strike can be used when the enemy is below 25% Health, making it a powerful execute skill.

Spinning Steel deals AoE damage and can be used as an execute skill as well. With this build, the Companion can launch themselves in a lethal spin, dealing Physical Damage to nearby enemies, making this skill great against multiple enemies.

Swift Assault deals five consecutive attacks to an enemy.

Hurricane Visage allows the Companion to manifest themselves as pure lightning, zapping nearby enemies with Shock Damage. While in this form, the Companion's damage taken will be reduced by 20%. 

Shared Wards grants a damage shield for the Companion and their nearby allies, and targets affected by the shield will also be healed.

Raging Storm is an Ultimate skill dealing AoE Shock Damage.

 

Stamina DPS Bow Build

Gear Setup

Ember can wear medium armor with a mix of Aggressive and Quickened pieces.

 

 

Skill Setup

Thunderous Strike can be used when the enemy is below 25% Health, making it a powerful execute skill.

Trick Shot deals Physical Damage to enemies and immobilizes them in the meantime.

Viper's Bite deals direct and DoT Poison damage.

Hurricane Visage allows the Companion to manifest themselves as pure lightning, zapping nearby enemies with Shock Damage. While in this form, the Companion's damage taken will be reduced by 20%.

Tank Build

Gear Setup

As a Tank, Ember can wear heavy armor with a mix of Bolstered and Quickened pieces.

 

Skill Setup

Provoke is a Taunt ability

Hurricane Visage allows the Companion to manifest themselves as pure lightning, zapping nearby enemies with Shock Damage. While in this form, the Companion's damage taken will be reduced by 20%. 

Entomb allows Companions to immobilize enemies and heal themselves in the meantime. 

Shared Wards grants a damage shield for the Companion and their nearby allies, and targets affected by the shield will also be healed.

On Guard provides a damage shield that absorbs up to 25% of the Companion's Max Health for 6 seconds.
