Rimegales is a new dynamic encounter coming to The Elder Scrolls Online with Update 52 on January 19, 2027. These timed events challenge players to prepare bonfires, defeat powerful enemies, and destroy a central objective to earn rewards. Players preparing for the new content can also review their TESO gold reserves to cover equipment upgrades, supplies, and other in-game expenses.
Locations and Schedule
Rimegales takes place in two eastern Skyrim zones: The Riftand Eastmarch. While an encounter is active, it temporarily replaces the dolmens in those zones.
The events follow a staggered schedule:
• The Rift: Every hour, on the hour.
• Eastmarch: Every hour, on the half hour.
This timing allows players to plan their participation across both zones.
How to Complete a Rimegales
Each encounter has three main stages, all of which must be completed before the timer expires.
1. Build and Light the Bonfires
Collect logs around the encounter area and deliver them to each bonfire. Once a bonfire is built, interact with it to light it.
All bonfires must be lit before the encounter advances to the next stage.
2. Defeat the Giants
Next, defeat the giants that appear in the area. These boss-like enemies use different abilities depending on the weapons they wield, so be ready to adjust your approach. Defeating every giant unlocks the final objective.
3. Destroy the Central Spear
To finish the encounter, destroy the spear in the middle of the dolmen. Doing so concludes the event and causes a large reward chest to appear for players to loot.
Keep the Time Limit in Mind
Throughout the encounter, additional enemies spawn and attempt to prevent players from completing objectives. Managing these threats while continuing to build fires and defeat giants is essential: every stage must be finished before the event expires.
With scheduled appearances and a clear three-stage structure, Rimegales bring a new timed challenge to The Rift and Eastmarch in Update 52.
