Prime Ribs are an important material in Diablo 4 Season 15, especially for players hunting rare rewards from Moophisto, the Divine Bovine. Here's how to get them through the available farming methods.

Diablo 4 Season 15: How to Get Prime Ribs

What Are Prime Ribs in Diablo 4?

Prime Ribs are a special item used to summon Moophisto, the Divine Bovine. Each summon requires 5 Prime Ribs, so you'll need a steady supply if you plan to fight this boss repeatedly.

Moophisto can drop valuable items, including Mythic Tributes and the rare Marquis Milky cow pet. Since the pet has a low drop chance, collecting enough Prime Ribs is essential for players who want to keep trying.

How to Get Prime Ribs in Diablo 4 Season 15

There are two main ways to obtain Prime Ribs: farming the Cow King in the Secret Cow Level or completing the Butcher quest in Old Tristram.

1. Farm the Cow King in the Secret Cow Level

The Secret Cow Level is the main repeatable farming spot for Prime Ribs. The Cow King drops this material when defeated, so you can collect more by repeating the encounter.

Follow these steps to farm Prime Ribs:

  1. Unlock the Secret Cow Level. If you haven't accessed it yet, complete the required cow-related steps or ask another player who has the Moo emote to help you unlock the entrance.

  2. Enter the Cow Level. Travel to the portal in Skovos and enter the instance.

  3. Kill the cows. Defeat the cows inside until the Cow King spawns.

  4. Defeat the Cow King. Collect the Prime Ribs from the boss's drops. The amount can vary, so you may need multiple runs to gather five.

  5. Reset the instance and repeat. Continue farming until you have enough Prime Ribs for your planned Moophisto summons.

How to Farm Prime Ribs Faster

To save time between runs, you can try using the group-switching method demonstrated by players. After collecting your loot from the Cow King, open the social menu and join a group playing on a different Torment difficulty. Then leave the group and return to your original difficulty.

This may place you in a reset Cow Level instance, allowing you to farm again without running all the way back to the entrance. If the instance doesn't reset correctly, leave the dungeon and reset it manually instead.

2. Complete the Butcher Quest in Old Tristram

If you want to get your first five Prime Ribs without repeatedly farming the Cow King, completing the Butcher quest is another option.

Here's how it works:

  1. Unlock Old Tristram. Make sure you have access to the area and can enter the relevant quest content.

  2. Find the Wounded Townsman. In the northern part of Old Tristram, near the Cathedral, speak to the NPC who offers the quest to slay the Butcher.

  3. Accept the quest and defeat the Butcher. Follow the quest instructions to locate and kill the boss in The Labyrinth.

  4. Collect your reward. Completing the quest rewards five Prime Ribs, enough for one Moophisto summon.

This method is useful if you want to obtain the required materials without starting with the Secret Cow Level. However, it involves unlocking Old Tristram and completing the associated quest, so it may take some preparation.

For players planning to summon Moophisto multiple times, farming the Cow King is the more repeatable option, while the Butcher quest provides a convenient way to obtain an initial set of five Prime Ribs.
