Intro

With Dragonflight, World of Warcraft received several changes. Many of these changes have made the PvP system of World of Warcraft much different than before. With Dragonflight, you can expect to engage in much more PvP than in previous expansions. Along with that, the classes have also received a lot of changes, like buffs and nerfs. For this reason, some of the classes have become better or worse for PvP than others.

If you are wondering which class you should choose in Dragonflight for PvP, you are not alone. Whenever a new expansion rolls out for World of Warcraft, one of the first questions World of Warcraft players have on their minds is what class is the best at particular roles. To help you with that, here is our extensive guide on the best classes in World of Warcraft Dragonflight for PvP.

How We Chose the Best Classes for Dragonflight PvP

Before we move on to the best classes in Dragonflight, let's look at our selection criteria and testing to help you understand how we choose these classes. Our main goal with this guide is to provide you with general recommendations on which classes would be most effective in PvP in Dragonflight.

We have chosen classes based on how effective they are at PvP in the current build of World of Warcraft Dragonflight. We have done this by testing each class ourselves in Dragonflight. We have also taken into account how popular they are amongst other players.

We have rated particular classes instead of complete specs. We have done this because certain classes within each spec are better or worse at PvP in Dragonflight. Also, these recommendations don't have a particular order to them. The first class on this list is not necessarily the best one, nor is it the worst one.

Another thing that you should keep in mind is that most of the classes in this list will be most effective once they get leveled up. If you have not leveled up enough, you might lose more PvP fights. If you don't want to spend all that time leveling up your class, you can always purchase a WoW leveling-up or power-leveling service. Purchasing this leveling service will allow you to level up your class without putting in any of the work.

Restoration Druid

First up, we have the Restoration Droid. The Restoration Droid is probably the best healer class in World of Warcraft Dragonflight. The Restoration Droid is great at group healing. The Restoration Droid can also provide massive amounts of instant burst healing. On top of that, recent updates with Dragonflight have made the Restoration Droid great at PvP.

Some of the abilities that make the Restoration Droid great at both 3v3 and 2v2 combat include Rake and Invigorate. With the Dragonflight expansion, the Restoration Droid got abilities like Protector of the Pack and Nature's Vigil, both of which allow the Restoration druid to dish out high amounts of single target and AOE damage. If you are thinking about getting into some PvP in Dragonflight, the Restoration Droid is a solid option.

Preservation Evoker

Next, we have the Preservation Evoker, also one of the top healer classes in World of Warcraft for Dragonflight. The most impressive ability of the Preservation Evoker is being able to do some massive burst healing.

However, the Preservation Evoker is not just good at healing. The amount of damage that the Preservation Evoker can dish out, bundled with one of the most impressive toolkits in the entire game, makes the Preservation Evoker a great option for PvP in Dragonflight.

The Preservation Evoker is quite effective at inflicting AOE damage. For AOE damage, the Preservation Evoker is at the top in terms of healer classes. In terms of abilities, the toolkit of the Preservation Evoker is full of options like Emerald Communion and Tranquility, both of which are potent healing abilities.

On top of that, the Preservation Evoker also has the Rewind ability that can help the Preservation Evoker reverse some of the damage taken over time. If you are looking for a healer with a high damage output for PvP, the Preservation Evoker is one of the best options.

Havoc Demon Hunter

While the two healer classes mentioned above are great for PvP in Dragonflight, healing is not everyone’s cup of tea. For that reason, I have also included some DPS classes here. When we talk about PvP, one of the main things we need to consider is consistent damage, and there is no other class in World of Warcraft right now that does that better than the Havoc Demon Hunter.

The Havoc Demon Hunter is probably the best melee DPS class in World of Warcraft Dragonflight for PvP. The Havoc Demon Hunter has one of the highest AOE damage outputs in the game and can also dish out a ton of single-target damage.

On top of all that, the Havoc Demon Hunter also comes equipped with a great toolkit with abilities like Fel Eruption, Chaos Nova, and Detainment. These abilities make the Havoc Demon Hunter great at crowd control. The toolkit also allows the Havoc Demon Hunter to adapt to various situations in PvP. If you are looking for a decent PvP class to use in World of Warcraft Dragonflight, you won't go wrong with the Havoc Demon Hunter.

Demonology Warlock

While the Havoc Demon Hunter is a great melee class for PvP, not all players prefer melee combat. If you are the kind of player who prefers ranged combat, then you can check out the Demonology Warlock. The Demonology Warlock is probably one of the best PvP classes for ranged combat in World of Warcraft Dragonflight. Because of the consistent damage that the Demonology Warlock can inflict on enemies, it performs extremely well in the Dragonflight meta.

One of the best features of the Demonology Warlock is that it is one of the tankiest classes in World of Warcraft. The Demonology Warlock can sustain a ton of damage before losing all its HP, which proves to be quite useful in PvP situations where the enemy has high damage output classes. On top of that, the Demonology Warlock has a great toolkit that includes abilities like Soul Link, Soul Leech, and Dark Pact.

Affliction Warlock

Up next, we have another class from the same spec, Warlocks. We are talking about the Affliction Warlock, which is also one of the most powerful ranged classes in World of Warcraft for PvP. Some might consider the Affliction Warlock to be much better than the Demonology Warlock because of the high AOE and single-target damage. However, both Warlock classes mentioned here are great at PvP in Dragonflight.

The Affliction Warlock also has a strong toolkit with the abilities surrounding AOE damage. While the single-target damage is not as great as the AOE damage, it is fairly decent. On top of that, if you get some good gear and items with the Affliction Warlock, you can become nearly unstoppable in PvP.

Unholy Death Knight

For our final pick for a decent class for PvP in Dragonflight, we have another melee class. One of the main areas where the Unholy Death Knight shines the most is its AOE damage. The Unholy Death Knight can inflict high amounts of burst AOE damage. Not only that, but the Unholy Death Knight also has high single-target damage output.

While the Unholy Death Knight has decent damage output, the one area where things might seem a bit lacking is mobility. However, that's not that big of a problem and won't cause any issues in PvP. The Unholy Death Knight also has an impressive toolkit, including abilities like Permafrost, Gloom Ward, Spellwarden, Veteran of the Third War, and Will of the Necropolis.

Conclusion

We have completed several hours of testing ourselves to pick out classes for this list. However, there are two things that you should keep in mind while selecting a class/spec from our list.

First of all, this guide by no means suggests that you should not play with a particular class that you are more comfortable with if it's not on this list. There are tons of options in World of Warcraft. Many of them have proven to be quite effective in Dragonflight. We have not included certain classes here, but that's because we didn't cover all of them.

The second thing you should know is that Dragonflight just came out. The developers will likely add more changes to the classes depending on how they perform in the first few weeks. For that reason, certain classes might move up or down in effectiveness.

With that said, if you are looking for general recommendations for decent classes in Dragonflight, you can safely pick any option from our list. It is unlikely that the ones mentioned here would get nerfed so much that they become completely useless.
