In-Game Economy in Path of Exile

By Leo Jiang2017-10-03

Action RPGs can attract a wide variety of players in Path of Exile, from common players to dedicated and highly skilled players, to players who watch their gaming sessions online. Besides that, there is another group: those whose primary interest lies in the game’s economy. It is nothing new that players who are not ARPG fans but instead of approaching the game with an entrepreneurial mindset. In games where a significant amount of time and energy invested into more experience points and a well-developed build, capitalism has its place and makes its presence sense very strong.

For PoE trading, having an auction house, or an automated system will encourage more beginners to play the game at least, by providing them with the opportunity to level their PoE Items more quickly than they would by grinding, as you know poe exalted orb and chaos orb are good items. Even though seasoned players whose entertainment time is limited by personal or professional schedule constraints will benefit from this system, as they can supplement their grind with the occasional purchase.

In Path of Exile, there are plenty of arguments against having an auction house. As an Action RPG not an MMORPG, the collective mindset is along the lines of “Play to Win” as opposed to “Pay to Win,” making the prospect of throwing money at the problem to solve it is less attractive to many players.

As far as poe currency is concerned, PoE seems to have a large currency sink, because players cannot farm more poe currency than they can spend. Players can consume a large amount of currency such as chaos orb in a small amount of time, especially crafting. On the contrary, MMORPGs feature the ability for high-level players to farm plenty of exalted orbs, only to have no use for it other than to sell to other players. Another way is that you can choose a reliable and high reputational website to buy safe and fast delivery poe items.

Player retention can be improved for gems and high-end Path of Exile Items with an automated trading system, reducing the amount of tedious and repetitive tasks or a built-in auction house in game, and also allow players to build multiple characters. It would increase playing time overall, thanks to the added variety that comes with several builds, as opposed to relying on the same build during every gaming session.

The current system, PoE Trade, appears to be enough for most players, is stable, and does not create more problems than it solves, at least from a poe items seller’s point of view. However, it does tend to be clumsy for buyers, as the transaction process is not as streamlined or optimized for frequent transactions.

For players, it may be of particular benefit to transfer an item from their public stash tab to PoE Trade directly, without the trouble of leaving the map. Taking this a step further, to be able to set a price, negotiate and accept the deal all will encourage players to use it more often while staying in the map. As trading is not a feature that all players use and are obligated to participate in, there will be less of a chance for the value of the items to inflate or depreciate.
