In The Elder Scrolls Online, Mythic items are one-piece gear only obtained via the Antiquities System. Every Mythic item provides unique effects to its wearers. Until April 2023, there are 23 Mythic items in the game. Which item is the most helpful for a new player that just hits CP 160? Ring of the Pale Order
DLC Requirement: Markarth
The Ring of the Pale Order is an ideal option for people who want to solo the base dungeons and World Bosses in the game. As one of the best Mythic items, it restores 20% of the damage you deal as Health, making it perfect for adventuring in Tamriel as a solo player. However, the Ring Of the Pale Order has a downside: You lose 4% healing for each member in your group, and other players can't heal you while wearing it, rendering it essentially useless for group content like Trials.
Harpooner's Wading Kilt
DLC Requirement: Blackwood
Unlike the Ring of the Pale Order, Harpooner's Wading Kilt is made for group play. While equipped, you will get a stack of Hunter's Focus for 20 seconds by dealing direct damage. The Hunter's Focus you get will stack up to a maximum of 10, and you can only gain 1 stack of Hunter's Focus per second. Each stack of Hunter's Focus increases your Critical Chance by 110 and your Critical Damage by 1%. Taking direct damage removes 5 stacks of Hunter's Focus, up to once per second. Removing Harpooner's Wading Kilt removes all stacks of Hunter's Focus.
Because it's hard to keep the stacks up by yourself, the Harpooner's Wading Kilt is more helpful when you do dungeons or Trials with a group: When there is a Tank taunting the enemies, you will not get hit often, and that allows you to keep those stacks up. Therefore, to get the most out of Harpooner's Wading Kilt, it is essential to learn how to avoid taking direct damage often.
Oakensoul Ring
DLC Requirement: High Isle
With the Oakensoul Ring equipped, you cannot swap between your primary and backup weapon sets. This ability makes Oakensoul Ring one of the most popular Mythic items as it allows players to make one-bar builds, which are much easier to use, especially for new players.
The Oakensoul Ring also grants you Minor Berserk, Minor Courage, Major Brutality, Major Sorcery, Major Prophecy, Major Savagery, Minor Force, Minor Protection, Major Resolve, Minor Mending, Minor Fortitude, Minor Intellect, Minor Endurance, Minor Heroism, Minor Slayer, Minor Aegis, and Empower.
With Oakensoul Ring, you can't do as much as someone that's running two bars with a good rotation. But you could still easily deal 80K-100K damage, which is plenty for any content in the game. In a word, the Oakensoul Ring makes it possible for new players to perform very well in dungeons and Trials using a simple rotation.
