PC players have had it since August 1, but now Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players get Update 11 for the Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, allowing them to jump into the Shadows of the Hist DLC.
With the release of update 11 to the Elder Scrolls Online for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, players on consoles can now dye their costumes, make purchases from The Style Parlor, and communicate via text chat. The latest update these features in addition to a new dungeon DLC entitled “Shadows of the Hist;” all of which are available now across all platforms.
Many of the new features added to the MMORPG are part of the base game patch; however, the latest piece of downloadable content can be purchased from the Crown Store. “Shadows of the Hist” includes two new Argonian-themed dungeons for players to explore. The Cradle of Shadows and the Ruins of Mazzatun dungeons await those that pick up the DLC for 1,500 Crowns.
As always, players that are subscribed to the Elder Scrolls Online with ESO Plus receive access to the DLC while their subscription is active according to the official site. By completing these two Argonian dungeons, players can earn new achievements and find new masks. Even the achievements have associated appearance rewards.
“Like all of ESO‘s dungeons, they’ll scale to the level of your group leader, offer both Normal and Veteran modes, and introduce new item sets for you to collect. You can enter these new dungeons at any level, and queue up for them via the Activity Finder starting at level 10.”
In addition to the “Shadows of the Hist” DLC, console players will also find several new features added to The Elder Scrolls Online thanks to the base patch of update 11. After the maintenance yesterday, new features like The Style Parlor, costume dyeing, and text chat are now available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As dictated on Bethesda.net, all players will have access to these features as part of the general update to the game.
“The base-game patch that accompanies Shadows of the Hist, free for everyone who owns ESO, is packed with new features and enhancements including console text chat; improvements and updates to Aetherian Archive, Hel Ra Citadel, and Dragonstar Arena; the Cyrodiil town capture system; and Racial Passive adjustment and rebalancing.”
The Style Parlor is a new section within the Crown Store where players can buy new appearance options for the characters. New hairstyles, adornments, and markings purchased from the Crown Store are collected in the player’s Collections tab where they can be selected at any time. There is even a bundle of all character creation hairstyles for 1,000 Crowns. Picking up this pack will let all characters across an account choose any hairstyle available to them at character creation whenever they want. Check out the official Style Parlor guide on The Elder Scrolls Online website for more information.
Another form of customization is now available in the Elder Scrolls Online today thanks to update 11. Players can now dye their costumes with the dyes they have unlocked. As long as a player is subscribed to the game with ESO Plus, he or she can dye their costumes freely with the selection of dyes unlocked on their account. Alternatively, players that are not subscribed to the game can dye their costumes with consumable, pre-selected dyes available in the Crown Store. These Dye Stamps let players dye their costumes without needing to be subscribed; however, the colors are static and the Dye Stamp is consumed after one use.
As the Inquisitr reported, this update also introduces text chat to the Elder Scrolls Online. Players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can now chat with their platform via optional text chat in addition to the current voice chat options. Those with a keyboard connected to their console can start chatting right away by simply pressing “enter.” Common options and channels are present for players to reach out to each other like zone chat and whispers.
An increased Champion Point cap, new Undaunted rewards, updates to Cyrodiil, and more are also part of update 11. Players can check out their platform’s patch notes on The Elder Scrolls Online official forums.
