By Bosbone2022-09-27

Elden Ring has established itself as a masterpiece of a game that offers countless hours of fun and unpredictable scenarios. The number of different options, weapons, and strategies that you can use in this game makes it so unique and special.

Elden Ring Incantations-1

Along with conventional weapons like daggers, swords, spears, and blades, Elden Ring also possesses unique abilities in the form of Incantations. These enable your character to summon a wide range of supernatural "beings" or forces, including spirits, gods, demons, and so on.

In this article, we will cover some of the best, well-known Incantations in Elden Ring, whether for PvP, PvE, or both. We will show you all the important stats, requirements, and where to find these Incantations. So without further ado, here are our top picks, in no particular order.

Flame, Grant Me Strength

Flame, Grant Me Strength is a Fire Monk Incantation that enables you to increase your physical and fire-affinity attack power. It is beneficial for fire attacks, particularly against enemies who are vulnerable to it. You can use it without fire spells because it increases your physical damage. You can stack it with the Golden Vow to boost the amount of damage you can deal. Additionally, you can purchase other unique Elden Ring items to improve your incantations in our store.

Elden Ring Incantations-2

Where to find Flame, Grant Me Strength

You can find this Incantation in the region of Caelid, behind Fort Gael (between two Flame Chariots, the fire-breathing Giant Head enemy). Just go south from the Site of Grace at Rotview Balcony.

Stats and requirements

This Incantation increases your Physical and Fire Damage by 20% in PVE (15% in PvP). It lasts 30 seconds and can be increased to 39 seconds with the Old Lord's Talisman. Since this is a Body Buff, you can't stack it with other buffs of the same group. It requires 15 Faith.

Stamina cost: 16

FP cost: 28

Lightning Spear Incantation

In my opinion, the Lightning Spear Incantation is such an underrated gem that deserves more attention. It is a powerful Dragon Cult Incantation. It enables you to summon a lightning missile that can be tossed forward like a spear and cause Lightning damage. For some players, it's not the best one visually, but definitely, it is a very useful Incantation. Maybe the biggest strength of the Lightning spear is range/dealing ranged damage.

Elden Ring Incantations-3

Where to find the Lightning Spear Incantation

First, you must obtain the Dragon Cult Prayerbook. You can get this Playerbook after you kill a Leyndell Knight, who is located south of the Liurnia of the Lakes (Artist's Shack). After you collect it, give it to Brother Corhyn or Miriel, Pastor of Vows, and purchase it for 6,000 Runes.

Stats and requirements

Enemies don't appear to pay much attention to this Incantation when it comes to evading it, which means that the Lightning Spear will be effective almost every time you launch it. As mentioned above, it deals Lightning Damage, and it requires 17 Faith.

Stamina cost: 28

FP cost: 18

Golden Vow Incantation

The Golden Vow is an excellent Erdtree Incantation for both PvE and PvP. It improves your attack power while simultaneously improving your defensive stats. To increase the benefit of Golden Vow even further, you can stack it with various incantations. The Golden Vow is a must-have incantation for any player, regardless of the class. It is considered the best Incantation in Elden Ring for many players.

Where to find the Golden Vow

Getting something this precious is surprisingly easy, as long as you know where to search. You will find it in Mt. Gelmir of Altus Plateau on a corpse within a shack known as the Corpse-Stench Shack. It is directly in front of the destroyed bridge near the Minor Erdtree of Mt. Gelmir.

Stats and requirements

The Golden Vow increases your attack power by 15% and the defensive stats by 10% for 80 seconds (PVE only). Additionally, you can increase the duration to 104 seconds with the Old Lord's Talisman.

In PVP, your attack is increased by 7.5%, and the damage negations by 5%. It requires 25 Faith.

Stamina cost: 50

FP cost: 47

Rotten Breath Incantation

Rotten Breath is a Dragon Communion Incantation that allows you to release poisonous fumes on enemies. The Rotten Breath is helpful in situations where you have to fight against a group of enemies at once. It is also extremely powerful against bosses. This also includes the toughest Bosses in Elden Ring. Maybe the only downside of this Incantation is the requirement, as it demands a high Arcane stat.

Elden Ring Incantations-4

Where to find the Rotten Breath

Now, to get the Rotten Breath, you will need one Dragon Heart first. Here you can find all Dragon Heart Locations in Elden Ring. After you get the Dragon Heart, you can purchase the Rotten Breath Incantation at the Dragon Communion Altar (Cathedral of Dragon Communion in Caelid).

Stats and requirements

So, the Rotten Breath deals Physical Damage and inflicts Scarlet Rot on enemies (110 per tick). It requires 15 Faith and 12 Arcane.

Stamina cost: 48

FP cost: 36 (4)

Swarm of Flies Incantation

Although it was nerfed in the 1.04 Patch, the Swarm of Flies is still a very effective Blood Incantation. This Incantation is frequently used, especially in the PVP mode. It allows you to release a swarm of Blood Flies, that causes a small amount of damage, but more importantly, it deals a significant amount of bleed build-up. It is also very effective if you want to farm runes. Another great advantage is that this Incantation is also effective from distance.

Elden Ring Incantations-5

Where to find the Swarm of Flies

The Swarm of Flies Incantation can be found on a corpse in a cave (along the east wall of the Lake of Blood in Mohgwyn Palace). Maybe the easiest route would be from the Palace Approach Ledge-Road (site of Grace).

Stats and requirements

The Swarm of Flies Incantation deals Physical Damage and a smaller amount of Magic Damage. You can also cast this spell in motion, and while crouching. It requires 11 Faith and 16 Arcane.

Stamina cost: 24

FP cost: 14

Bestial Sling Incantation

Bestial Sling is everyone's go-to spell for rapid attacks. This Bestial Incantation allows you to shoot out a cone of rock shards in front of you very quickly, making it difficult to avoid. Additionally, it deals a significant amount of damage. The combination of damage, speed, and requirements to cast this spell is what makes this Incantation one of the best in the game.

Where to find the Bestial Sling

You can get this Incantation from Gurranq after you give him the second Deathroot. This is the main part of his questline, and he will also give you other items and Incantations in exchange for several Deathroots. Here you can find other amazing questlines in Elden Ring with plenty of rewards. You can find Gurranq at the Bestial Sanctum in Caelid.

Stats and requirements

The Bestial Sling Incantation deals with Physical Damage and a smaller amount of Magic Damage. Due to its quick cast time, this Incantation can be "combined" with your primary weapon to flinch low-poised enemies. It requires 10 Faith.

Stamina Cost: 19

FP Cost: 7

Summary

Every Incantation is unique, and most players will have different experiences with some of them. It all depends on your class, character development, style of play, and the skills you possess. As we already know, some Incantations will work better on some enemies, and some can be more useful on bosses.
