In Diablo 4 Season 12, defeating a Bloodied Greater Lair Boss in Torment IV is one of the final and most challenging objectives in the Season Journey. This task is required to unlock the final rank and earn rewards such as Gilded Laurels, Resplendent Caches, and high-tier crafting materials.

However, many players struggle with this objective due to its extreme difficulty. Bloodied bosses deal massive damage, have increased survivability, and introduce additional threats during the encounter. This guide will walk you through the correct preparation, key mechanics, and the most efficient strategy to successfully complete this challenge.

Diablo 4 Season 12: Easiest Way to Beat a Bloodied Greater Lair Boss (Torment IV Guide)

Step 1: Avoid Upgrading to Bloodsoaked Sigils

Before attempting this challenge, it is crucial to avoid clearing Pit 100 in Diablo 4.

Completing Pit 100 will automatically upgrade all Bloodied Lair Boss Sigils into Bloodsoaked Sigils. These upgraded sigils significantly increase the difficulty of the encounter to a level comparable to Pit 130. At the current stage of the season, this difficulty is beyond the reach of most players.

To ensure the challenge remains achievable, you should complete the Bloodied Greater Lair Boss objective before progressing past Pit 100.

Step 2: Farming Bloodied Lair Boss Sigils

Bloodied Lair Boss Sigils are required to access these encounters. They can drop from multiple activities, but the most efficient farming methods include Bloodied Nightmare Dungeons and Helltide events.

When activating a Bloodied Sigil, the boss’s difficulty will be significantly increased. Although the game displays a “+15” modifier, the actual difficulty scaling is much higher than expected. Players should treat these encounters as endgame content.

Step 3: Minimum Build Requirements

To defeat a Bloodied Greater Lair Boss in Torment IV, your character must be fully optimized for both damage and survivability.

A recommended baseline is the ability to comfortably clear Pit level 95. This indicates that your build has sufficient damage output and survivability for the encounter. Players should aim for approximately 200,000 toughness to withstand incoming damage, although higher values will further improve consistency.

All gear should be upgraded to Masterwork Rank 25 and fully tempered to maximize performance. Incomplete gear optimization will significantly reduce your chances of success.

Step 4: Gems, Paragon, and Glyph Optimization

Maximizing your character’s power requires proper investment in Gems, Paragon, and Glyphs.

Players should use Grand Gems whenever possible, as they provide the highest stat bonuses. If materials are limited, Royal Gems are an acceptable alternative. Additionally, reaching Paragon Level 250 is recommended to unlock all Paragon boards and key rare nodes.

Glyphs should be leveled to approximately 75, as this provides a substantial boost to both offensive and defensive capabilities. These upgrades collectively play a critical role in surviving and defeating Bloodied bosses.

Step 5: Buffs and Mercenary Setup

Proper preparation before entering the fight can significantly improve your chances of success.

Players should always use the best available Elixirs and Incense buffs. These consumables provide additional stats that can make a noticeable difference during the encounter.

For mercenary support, Raheir is the recommended choice. Equipping Raheir with the Bastion ability, which activates upon taking damage, provides a defensive safeguard that can prevent sudden deaths during critical moments.

Step 6: Selecting the Correct Boss

Not all Lair Bosses count toward the Season Journey objective.

Defeating bosses such as Varshan, Lord Zir, Grigoire, the Beast in Ice, or Urivar will not complete the requirement. Instead, players must defeat one of the following bosses: Harbinger of Hatred, Duriel, Andariel, or the Butcher.

Among these options, Harbinger of Hatred and Duriel are generally considered the most accessible choices due to their mechanics and overall difficulty.

Step 7: Initiating the Encounter

To begin the fight, activate a Bloodied Lair Boss Sigil from your inventory while in Torment IV difficulty. This will transform the boss lair into its Bloodied version.

Once inside, interact with the altar to initiate the encounter. During the fight, players should be aware that the Butcher may appear as an additional threat. This mechanic significantly increases the difficulty by forcing players to manage multiple enemies simultaneously.

Step 8: Combat Strategy

Successfully defeating a Bloodied Greater Lair Boss requires a balanced approach between offense and defense.

Players should prioritize survivability, maintain consistent movement, and avoid unnecessary damage. Overcommitting to damage output can quickly lead to death, especially when multiple threats are present.

Maintaining defensive buffs, positioning carefully, and reacting quickly to incoming attacks are essential for completing the encounter. Builds with strong sustain, crowd control, or mobility tend to perform better in this scenario.

Step 9: Rewards and Completion

Upon defeating the boss, the final rank of the Season Journey will be completed.

Players will receive a Resplendent Cache containing valuable rewards such as Obducite, Neathiron, Scrolls of Restoration, boss materials, and high-tier gear. Additionally, a Resplendent Spark is granted, which is useful for crafting powerful D4 items.

A cosmetic title decoration featuring golden wings is also unlocked, marking the completion of this challenging objective.

Defeating a Bloodied Greater Lair Boss in Diablo 4 Season 12 is a demanding endgame challenge that requires strong builds and proper preparation. With the right setup and strategy, you can greatly improve your chances of completing the Season Journey.
