Square Enix started the year off by showcasing their roadmap to how they were planning to expand the number of Data Centers for Final Fantasy XIV. The initial announcement in January mentioned the launching of 4 new Data Centers to accommodate a smoother FFXIV experience alongside room for some big expansions. While they followed through with most of the announced FFXIV's Expansion Operations, the North American Data Center was somehow delayed.
The first phase of the launch of the North American Logical Data Center was initially scheduled to take place in August 2022 but was postponed due to issues with its logistics. However, Square Enix recently announced that they are finally going through with their plans to bring the brand new North American Logical Data Center to life in November. The expansion now officially has a date and it is going to come with some additional exciting content that gives us a glimpse of what Square Enix has got planned for FFXIV’s future and where the game is headed.
DID YOU KNOW?
The launch of the new North American Data Center is now scheduled for Tuesday, November 1, 2022. The game will be also getting the maintenance for Patch 6.28 alongside the scheduled server expansion. The new North American Data Center is not going to come all alone; Square Enix also announced that four new Worlds will be coming to the game with the scheduled update.
The announced new worlds on the Dynamis Data Center are as follows:
These four new Worlds are only the first phase of a much bigger expansion. Square Enix has planned to add four more new Worlds in 2023, meaning that each Data Center will be getting eight new Worlds.
You will be able to create a new character or transfer an existing one to the upcoming new Worlds, and it will also grant you specific bonuses to start off your journey. Character Creation Bonuses on new Worlds include a Double EXP bonus (until level 80 is reached), a gift of 10 Silver Chocobo Feathers, a gift of 1,000,000 Gil, and a gift of 15 days of free play time. The Bonuses for Transferring to a New World include a free transfer, a gift of 10 Gold Chocobo Feathers, and a double EXP bonus (until level 80 is reached). Learn more about these bonuses on the Home World Transfer Service and World Population Balancing Incentives page.
However, the residential districts in these new Worlds will not be available on day one but are scheduled to open for lottery sales beginning Saturday, November 5. Square Enix said that they will be announcing additional info about it later on.
FFXIV is still considered an undying game and the announcement of the new logical data centers only confirmed this fact. And the addition of brand-new Worlds means that the game is going to get even bigger with room for a ton of more content in the future. Square Enix might even be planning on an even bigger update in the near future.
In the meantime, you can check out the New Housing Lottery System that was introduced in Patch 6.1 to get ready to get settled in the upcoming new Worlds and buy a house there when time comes. Check out our FFXIV guides to make your experience in the game more productive.
