Diablo 4 Season 14 brings major changes to Mythic Uniques, making them a bigger part of endgame gearing and character progression. With the Horadric Cube, players can now upgrade Unique items into random Mythic Uniques from the same equipment slot, giving key build items a new path to power.

This guide explains how the Upgrade to Mythic recipe works, what materials you need, how to farm Pandemonium Fragments, and what restrictions apply to crafted Mythics. It also covers other Mythic crafting methods at the Blacksmith and Jeweler, helping you decide how to spend your materials in Season 14.

Diablo 4 Season 14 Mythic Unique Changes

In Season 14, one of the biggest Mythic Unique changes is that any Unique item can now become a Mythic Unique. These Mythic versions come with max-rolled stats and stronger Unique affixes, giving important build items much higher value.

Players can also separate Mythics into two groups:

Iconic Mythics: The original Mythic Uniques, such as Harlequin Crest, The Grandfather, and Ring of Starless Skies.

Standard Mythics: The regular Unique items that can now appear as Mythic-quality versions.

This distinction matters because different crafting methods may pull from different Mythic pools.

How to Craft Mythic Uniques with the Horadric Cube

Before using these Mythic crafting recipes, your character must be at least level 70 and playing on Torment difficulty or higher. Mythics can be obtained in two main ways. They can drop naturally, or you can craft them using the Horadric Cube. The crafting process is one of the most important systems to understand in S14.

Horadric Cube Recipe: Upgrade to Mythic

At the Horadric Cube, you can find a new recipe called Upgrade to Mythic. This recipe requires two materials:

● 1 Unique equipment item with at least 850 Item Power

● 5 Pandemonium Fragments

Horadric Cube Recipe: Upgrade to Mythic

Put them in your Horadric Cube, then click Transmute. You will receive a random Mythic Unique from the same equipment slot as the Unique item you used, with max-rolled stats and a powerful 30% bonus to its Unique affix. This means that when using the Horadric Cube, the item type stays the same, but the resulting Mythic Unique is random within that category.

The most important thing to understand is that the result is random. The original Unique’s name, affixes, stat rolls, and item power do not affect the final Mythic item. Only the equipment slot matters.

Because of this, you should not sacrifice a powerful or useful Unique for this craft. If you want to craft a Mythic ring, use an unwanted Unique ring instead of your best ring. The outcome will not be better just because the original item was stronger.

Crafted Mythic Unique Restrictions

Mythic Uniques created through this system can have both fixed affixes and random affixes. You can reroll exactly one affix on a Mythic Unique by using the Enchantment feature at the Occultist. However, there is an important restriction: only one crafted Mythic can be equipped at a time.

How to Farm Pandemonium Fragments

Pandemonium Fragments are the key materials for this recipe. Its most common source is the new Lair Boss, Corrupted Reaper. This boss is unlocked through the seasonal questline and sits at the top of the Boss Ladder, on the same level as Belial. After defeating Corrupted Reaper, you need to open its reward chest to receive loot. To open this chest, you need a Superior Boss Lair Key.

Superior Boss Lair Key is essentially the D4 Season 14 replacement for Betrayer’s Husk. Betrayer’s Husk no longer exists in the game, and Superior Boss Lair Keys are now used to open reward chests after defeating Belial or Corrupted Reaper.

The source of Superior Boss Lair Keys is similar to the old Betrayer’s Husk system. After killing Lair Bosses, you can trigger surprise attacks from Belial. Defeating Belial can reward you with Superior Boss Lair Keys.

The farming process for Pandemonium Fragments is:

● Farm regular Lair Bosses.

● Trigger Belial‘s surprise attacks.

● Defeat Belial to obtain Superior Boss Lair Keys.

● Use those keys to open Corrupted Reaper reward chests.

● Collect Pandemonium Fragments from the chest.

Pandemonium Fragments can also be found in caches from the seasonal reputation board and rewards from the Season Journey.

Other Mythic Crafting Methods

Besides the Horadric Cube upgrade system, players can still use other Mythic crafting methods in Diablo 4. These methods are mainly used to convert unused Mythics into new ones or to craft Mythics through other material systems.

Crafting Mythics at the Blacksmith

The old Mythic crafting method at the Blacksmith still exists. This is the common method for turning unused, duplicate, or unwanted Mythic Unique items into a random new Mythic.

You can still craft a random Mythic item at the Blacksmith using:

● 2 Resplendent Sparks

● 50 million Gold

However, this method only creates a random Mythic from the original Mythic item pool, such as Shako, Heir of Perdition, and other classic Mythics. Blizzard now calls these original Mythics Iconic Mythics.

If you use the Blacksmith recipe, you will receive one of these Iconic Mythics. However, Blacksmith-crafted Mythics still count as crafted Mythics, so the one-crafted-Mythic equipment rule also applies to them.

Crafting Mythics at the Jeweler

Players can also craft Mythic Uniques through Rune Crafting at the Jeweler. This method uses Resplendent Sparks and specific Runes instead of Pandemonium Fragments.

Location: Any Jeweler

Cost: 3 Resplendent Sparks and 18 specific Runes

Requirement: One 850+ Unique item from the equipment slot you want to craft

The result is a Mythic Unique from the same equipment slot as the Unique item used in the recipe, but the outcome is still random within that slot. This means the Jeweler method does not guarantee the exact Mythic Unique you want.
