With Season 1 of Midnight winding down, Patch 12.0.7 has quietly transformed the leveling experience in World of Warcraft. This is easily one of the best times in recent expansions to push your alts to level 90—not just because it’s faster, but because it’s actually rewarding while you do it.

Blizzard has increased experience gains across nearly every activity, while introducing new content that finally feels worth engaging with during leveling. Instead of rushing through outdated systems, players can now level efficiently while earning meaningful gear, currencies, and cosmetics that carry into endgame. Bellular shared a video on his YouTube channel, guiding us how to achieve these efficiently. Let’s dive in.

If you don’t have the time to take advantage of Patch 12.0.7’s leveling buffs, professional WoW power leveling services can help you reach level 90 quickly and efficiently, so you don’t miss out on the current rewards and progression.

WoW Patch 12.0.7: The Best Time to Level Your Alts Fast to 90

Why Patch 12.0.7 Changes Everything

The biggest shift comes from how multiple systems now work together instead of competing with each other.

The two new zones—Naigtal and Val—are available even below level 90, and they’re packed with content that scales properly and rewards generously. World quests in these areas not only grant significantly more XP than older zones, but they also respawn frequently, roughly every hour, which removes the usual downtime problem.

At the same time, activities like Showdowns and Delver’s Call quests have been heavily buffed. Compared to older systems like Void Assaults, which were technically available but inefficient, these new mechanics provide full rewards, strong experience gains, and relevant currencies such as Field Accolades.

The result is a leveling experience that feels fast, consistent, and actually fun.

Start With XP Buffs (This Matters More Than Ever)

Before doing anything, stacking XP bonuses is crucial because of how well they scale with the newly buffed systems.

Warband bonuses can provide up to 25% increased experience if you already have five level 90 characters. War Mode adds another 10–15% while questing, and while it can be risky in some areas, it’s generally free value in most content.

The biggest boost comes from the upcoming Turbulent Timeways event, which grants a 30% XP increase after completing four Timewalking dungeons. Even if you don’t plan to level through dungeons, activating this buff early dramatically improves every other method.

With all buffs combined, the difference in leveling speed becomes massive.

The Core Strategy: Delves First, Rewards Later

The most important part of this guide revolves around Delves, which remain the strongest leveling tool even after all the buffs.

At level 80 scaling, Delves can be cleared extremely quickly, especially at Tier 2 difficulty, which offers the best balance between speed and reward. As you complete them, you’ll pick up Delver’s Call quests—these are where the real value lies. The key trick is simple: do not turn these quests in immediately. Instead, complete all 10 Delves first. This alone will push your character to around level 81 or slightly higher. However, the quests themselves each grant over a third of a level when turned in with buffs active. By saving them, you effectively bank multiple levels. Once you reach around level 85–86 through other activities, turning them all in at once allows you to skip the slowest and least enjoyable part of the leveling curve entirely.

Level 81–86: Choose What Fits Your Goal

From here, leveling opens up into several viable paths, and this is where player preference matters more than raw efficiency.

If the goal is simply to reach level 90 as fast as possible, traditional campaign questing is still extremely effective. It provides constant XP flow and becomes faster with practice, especially when skipping cutscenes and optimizing routes. However, it offers very little beyond experience.

For a more balanced approach, the new Showdown zones stand out as the best overall option. Running through world quests, completing weekly objectives, and farming rares provides strong XP while also granting high-quality gear and a large amount of Field Accolades. These zones are dense, active, and designed to be played continuously, making them both efficient and engaging.

Another solid alternative is Prey Hunts. These can be repeated quickly and reward a large chunk of experience each time. Once optimized, they are quite fast, though they require more attention and constant movement compared to other methods.

Dungeons, despite some buffs, still lag behind. Their XP gains are not competitive enough, and they are generally not worth prioritizing unless you specifically want variety or practice.

A small but valuable trick during this stage is to complete Renown weekly quests. They take very little time and provide a surprisingly large amount of experience, making them an easy addition to any leveling route.

The Final Push to 90

Once you reach around level 86, everything comes together. This is the moment to turn in all your saved Delver’s Call quests. With full XP buffs active, handing them in back-to-back will propel your character straight to level 90, effectively bypassing the slowest stretch of progression.

While there are alternative tricks—such as using crafting bonuses to finish the last level—they are no longer necessary. With the current XP scaling and buffs, simply playing the game normally is faster and more rewarding.

How Fast Is It Now?

With an optimized approach and proper use of buffs, reaching level 90 from 80 can take:

  • Around 4 hours with a relaxed playstyle
  • Closer to 3 hours or less with efficient routing

More importantly, you won’t arrive at level 90 empty-handed. By following this method, your character will already have:

  • Usable gear for early endgame
  • A large amount of Field Accolades
  • Progress toward cosmetics and achievements

Final Thoughts

Patch 12.0.7 doesn’t just make leveling faster—it makes it worthwhile. Instead of rushing through outdated content, players can now engage with meaningful systems that prepare them for endgame while they level.

The combination of Delves, Showdowns, and stacked XP buffs creates a smooth and rewarding path to 90. Whether the goal is efficiency or enjoyment, this patch delivers both in a way that previous systems simply didn’t. If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to level your alts, this is it.
