With many players returning to World of Warcraft for Midnight Season 2, gold-making has become a major concern. While many current-content farms may offer disappointing gold-per-hour rates, some older farming locations continue to perform surprisingly well.

One of the best examples is Corin’s Crossing in the Eastern Plaguelands. This classic-content farm focuses on two valuable materials: Dark Runes and Essence of Undeath. Depending on current Auction House prices and your farming method, this location can generate around 50,000 gold per hour. This method is from Studen Albatroz’s YouTube video. Now, let’s dive in.

How to Make 50,000 WoW Midnight Gold per Hour at Corin’s Crossing

Why Corin’s Crossing Is Still a Great Gold Farm

Corin’s Crossing has remained profitable because the materials available there continue to have strong demand. The two primary items you will collect are Dark Runes ad Essence of Undeath. At the time of writing, Dark Runes are selling for roughly 150–220 gold each, with an average price of around 160 gold. They can currently reach approximately 185 gold per rune, while Essence of Undeath is worth around 100 gold each on EU. These prices make the farm particularly attractive because both materials can be sold relatively quickly.

Why Are Dark Runes in High Demand?

Dark Runes have experienced a significant increase in demand after Blizzard brought back older Naxxramas and Scholomance items that require them. As a result, Dark Runes are no longer used only for their traditional purposes. A much wider range of items now requires them, substantially increasing demand. Some player housing items also require Dark Runes, providing another source of demand and helping keep their Auction House value relatively high.

How Much Gold Can You Make Per Hour?

When Dark Runes and Essence of Undeath are around their current prices, Corin’s Crossing can provide approximately 50,000 gold per hour. For an efficient five-player group, you can expect to farm around 300 materials per hour in total, although the exact results will vary depending on your group composition, kill speed, competition, and market prices. A typical distribution is approximately 200 Dark Runes and 100 Essence of Undeath. The most important point is that the value of each material changes over time. You should always check the Auction House before deciding which mobs to prioritize.

Want WoW Gold Without Spending Hours Farming?

Gold farming can be a great way to build up your wealth, but reaching your gold goals still requires time and consistent effort. If you would rather spend more time enjoying dungeons, raids, PvP, or other Midnight Season 2 content, you can also choose to buy WoW Gold from MmoGah. With millions of successfully completed orders, MmoGah offers a convenient way to get the gold you  need and spend less time grinding.

Which Mobs Should You Farm?

The most efficient route depends on which material currently has the higher value.

When Dark Runes Are More Valuable

When Dark Runes are worth more than Essence of Undeath, prioritize the humanoid mobs found inside and around the buildings at Corin’s Crossing. Important mobs include Dark Summoner and Vile Tutors. These humanoid mobs are the primary source of Dark Runes. At the same time, you can kill the undead mobs you encounter while moving between groups of humanoids. These mobs can provide Essence of Undeath as additional profit. This approach should generally produce around 200 Dark Runes and 100 Essence of Undeath per hour for an efficient five-player group.

When Essence of Undeath Is More Valuable

Sometimes Essence of Undeath can become more profitable than Dark Runes, although this is less common. When that happens, change your route and focus more heavily on the undead mobs outside the buildings. The goal is to maximize your Essence of Undeath drops rather than spending most of your time on the humanoid mobs. With favorable prices, this approach can produce more than 200 Essence of Undeath per hour.

The key to maximizing your gold is therefore not simply following one fixed route. Check the current Auction House prices and prioritize the material with the higher value.

Five-Player Farming vs. Solo Farming

A five-player group is generally the most efficient way to farm Corin’s Crossing. With several players killing mobs simultaneously, you can clear the area quickly and maintain a consistent farming route. However, finding a group can sometimes be difficult. Joining an active farming guild or community can make it much easier to find other players interested in running old-content gold farms.

For players who prefer farming alone, there is also another option nearby.

Semi-AFK Dark Rune Farm

If you don't want to farm with a group, you can head to the Cauldron area near Corin’s Crossing. Unlike the main farming route, this area is primarily populated by humanoid mobs that can drop Dark Runes. The advantage is that the area can be farmed solo. However, these mobs do not hyper-spawn. They have a fixed respawn timer, meaning you cannot continuously kill them without waiting. This makes the area suitable for a semi-AFK farming strategy. So, you can clear all the humanoid mobs, wait for them to respawn, clear them again and repeat the process while doing something else. This method is less efficient than actively farming Corin’s Crossing with a five-player group, but it can be a convenient option if you want a low-effort way to collect Dark Runes.
