Ber is a Unique Rune of Invocation in Diablo 4 Season 15. When activated, it gives your next five skills a Lucky Hit chance of up to 10% to deliver a Crushing Blow. It is also a required ingredient for crafting Enigma, the chest armor that replaces your Evade with the Sorcerer’s Teleport.
Whether you need Ber for its combat effect or to craft Enigma, you do not have to rely solely on random drops. This guide shows you how to find the Cabochon Merchant in the Undercity and purchase Ber directly when it is available.
Set Up the Required War Plans Nodes
Open your Undercity War Plans Tree and activate both of the following nodes:
Bauble Day: Killing a Portal Prankster causes the Cabochon Merchant to appear at the end of the completed run.
Gutter Filth: Activating a Beacon has a small chance to summon a Portal Prankster goblin.
These nodes work together: Gutter Filth helps you encounter the goblin, while Bauble Day unlocks access to the merchant after you kill it and complete the run.
Make sure both nodes are active before entering. The full trigger sequence is:
Activate a Beacon → Summon a Portal Prankster → Kill the goblin → Defeat the final boss → Visit the merchant.
How to Obtain Ber from the Cabochon Merchant
With both required War Plans nodes active, follow the steps below:
1. Enter the Undercity
Start an Undercity run with both required nodes enabled. A Tribute is optional, so you do not need to use one just to trigger the merchant.
2. Activate Beacons Until a Portal Prankster Appears
Keep moving through the dungeon and activating Beacons. Each activation gives Gutter Filth a chance to summon a Portal Prankster.
The summon is chance-based, so the first Beacon may not produce a goblin. Continue activating Beacons as you progress.
3. Kill the Portal Prankster
When a Portal Prankster appears, prioritize killing it. Simply finding the goblin is not enough—Bauble Day requires a kill. Confirm that it is dead before moving on.
4. Finish the Run and Defeat the Boss
After killing the goblin, focus on reaching and defeating the final boss. You no longer need to search specifically for another Portal Prankster.
The merchant appears at the end of the completed run, not beside the Beacon where you encountered the goblin.
5. Find the Merchant Behind the Reward Chests
After defeating the boss, look behind the reward chests for the Cabochon Merchant.
The merchant sells runes, gems, and splinters. Check for Ber first. It costs approximately 50,000,000 gold, so make sure you have enough gold ready when it appears.
If Ber is not available, you can refresh the merchant’s inventory for another chance. Bring Forgotten Souls for refreshes, check the displayed cost before rerolling, and avoid spending your resources until you find the items you need.

How to Craft Ber in the Horadric Cube
You can also craft Ber in the Horadric Cube by combining Lo runes with a Grand Topaz.
Ber Rune Recipe
2 Lo + 1 Grand Topaz = 1 Ber
Place these ingredients in the Horadric Cube and select Transmute to craft one Ber rune.
If you do not have enough Lo runes, you can craft the missing ones using Ohm runes and Flawless Diamonds. Each combination produces one Lo:
