Diablo 2 Resurrected (D2R) is a remastered version of the classic action role-playing game Diablo 2, which was released in 2000. The game features seven classes, each with their own unique skills and playstyles. One of these classes is the Paladin, a holy warrior who can use auras, combat skills, and defensive skills.
The Paladin class is one of my favorite classes in D2R, and I will choose it for the upcoming Ladder Season 5, which starts on September 28, 2023. Ladder Season 5 is a competitive game mode in which players race to level 99, with an online leaderboard that tracks player progress and experience earned. To participate in the Ladder Season, I must make a new Ladder-only character that starts at Level 1 and work my way up. There are some perks in having a Ladder character, such as access to stronger weapons and armor and additional Runes that I can socket into my weapons.
There are many reasons why I will choose the Paladin class for Ladder Season 5. Here are some of them:
- The Paladin class is versatile and adaptable. The Paladin class can specialize in three different skill trees: Combat Skills, Offensive Auras, and Defensive Auras. Each skill tree offers different benefits and options for the Paladin's gameplay. For example, the Combat Skills tree allows the Paladin to use various weapons and attacks, such as hammers, spears, shields or smites. The Offensive Auras tree allows the Paladin to enhance his damage and attack speed and apply elemental effects or curses to his enemies. The Defensive Auras tree allows the Paladin to increase his defense and resistance and heal or protect himself and his allies. The Paladin can switch between different auras and skills depending on the situation and his preference.
- The Paladin class is powerful and durable. The Paladin class can deal serious damage to enemies with his combat skills and offensive auras while also being able to survive and heal with his defensive auras and skills. The Paladin class also has access to some of the best items and Runewords in the game, such as Herald of Zakarum (Gilded Shield), Crown of Ages (Corona), Chains of Honor (Archon Plate), Mara's Kaleidoscope (Amulet), Raven Frost (Ring), Dracul's Grasp (Vampirebone Gloves), Gore Rider (War Boots), and Grief (Phase Blade). These items will boost the Paladin's damage, defense, resistance, life leech, attack rating, and other stats.
- The Paladin class is fun and satisfying to play. The Paladin class offers a lot of variety and enjoyment in its gameplay. The Paladin class can use different weapons and skills to create different builds, such as Hammerdin (using Blessed Hammer and Concentration), Zealot (using Zeal and Fanaticism), Smiter (using Smite and Holy Shield), or Auradin (using Holy Fire or Holy Shock). The Paladin class can also use different D2R items and Runewords to enhance his performance, such as Enigma (Mage Plate or Dusk Shroud), which grants the Teleport skill, or Dream (Bone Visage or Sacred Targe), which grants the Holy Shock aura. The Paladin class can also interact with other players and mercenaries with their auras and skills, such as Salvation or Prayer.
These are some reasons why I will choose the Paladin class for Ladder Season 5. The Paladin class is a great choice for anyone wanting a versatile, powerful, durable, fun, and satisfying gameplay experience in D2R. I look forward to joining the race to level 99 and seeing how far I can go with the Paladin class.
