How to Build a Fire Druid in Diablo 2 Resurrected

By Ansley2023-09-22

Diablo 2 Resurrected is a remastered version of the classic action role-playing game Diablo 2, which was released in 2000. The game features seven classes, each with their own unique skills and playstyles. One of these classes is the Druid, a versatile shapeshifter who can harness the power of nature and the elements.

Skill

The Druid can specialize in three skill trees: Elemental, Shape Shifting, and Summoning. This article will focus on the Elemental skill tree, which allows the Druid to unleash devastating fire spells on his enemies. The fire druid build is one of the most popular and powerful builds for the Druid class, as it can deal massive damage to large groups of enemies and even break some fire immunities with the right gear.

The fire druid build mainly relies on two skills: Fissure and Armageddon. A fissure creates a large area of burning ground that deals fire damage over time to enemies standing on it. Armageddon summons a rain of meteors that fall from the sky and deal fire damage to enemies in a wide radius. These two skills synergize well, as they benefit from the same skill points and can be cast simultaneously.

The fire druid build also uses some supporting skills from the other skill trees, such as Firestorm, Molten Boulder, Volcano, Werewolf, Lycanthropy, Oak Sage, and Cyclone Armor.

Firestorm and Molten Boulder are used to deal additional fire damage and knock back enemies. The Volcano is used to deal physical and fire damage to fire-immune enemies.

Werewolf and Lycanthropy increase the Druid's attack speed, life, and stamina.

Oak Sage is used to increase the Druid's and his allies' lives.

Cyclone Armor absorbs elemental damage and protects the Druid from enemy spells.

Gear

The fire druid build requires some specific gear to reach its full potential. The most important Diablo 2 items are those that increase the Druid's fire skill levels, such as Heart of the Oak (Flail), Harlequin Crest (Shako), Enigma (Mage Plate or Dusk Shroud), Mara's Kaleidoscope (Amulet), Arachnid Mesh (Belt), Magefist or Trang-Oul's Claws (Gloves), Sandstorm Trek (Boots), and Spirit (Monarch). These items will boost the damage and radius of Fissure and Armageddon and provide other useful bonuses such as faster cast rate, mana regeneration, magic find, and resistances.

Phoenix & Flame Rift

Another important item for the fire druid build is Phoenix (Monarch or Phase Blade), which grants the Flame Rift skill. Flame Rift is a new skill introduced in Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 3 that reduces enemy fire resistance by 20% for each hit. This skill can help the fire druid break some fire immunities and deal more damage to resistant enemies. However, Flame Rift also reduces the Druid's own fire resistance by 20% for each hit, so it is important to have enough fire resistance from other sources to counteract this effect.

Infinity

The fire druid build also benefits from having a mercenary that can equip Infinity (Thresher or Giant Thresher). Infinity is a Runeword that grants the Conviction aura, which lowers enemy resistance by up to 85%. This aura can stack with Flame Rift and further reduce enemy fire resistance, making them more vulnerable to Fissure and Armageddon. Infinity also increases the damage of Volcano by boosting its physical component.

The fire druid build is a fun and effective way to play the Druid class in Diablo 2 Resurrected. It can deal massive damage to large groups of enemies with Fissure and Armageddon while also having some options to deal with fire-immune enemies with Volcano and Phoenix. The build also has decent survivability with Werewolf, Lycanthropy, Oak Sage, and Cyclone Armor. With the right gear and skills, the fire druid can burn through any challenge in the game.
