Diablo 4 Season 15 changes how you farm gems, chase Mythics, and gear up your alts. Before you choose a leveling route or copy last season’s build, check these 10 changes—especially the nerfs to familiar farming methods and Selig setups.

Diablo 4 Season 15 Guide: 10 Biggest Changes You Need to Know Before Starting

1.  War Plans Are Now Shared Across Your Account

One of the best quality-of-life changes in Season 15 is that War Plans progress is shared between characters with matching Seasonal/Eternal, Hardcore, and Solo Self-Found settings. Each character can allocate its shared points separately. Season 14 progress transfers to Eternal, not your new Season 15 characters.

Focus on progressing your first seasonal character, then use those shared points to make your next character’s farming setup easier. You do not need to choose identical War Plans for every build.

2. Seer's Reach Gem Farming Is No Longer Guaranteed

Seer's Reach has been one of the most popular ways to farm D4 gems because it provided a reliable Royal Gem after defeating the boss.

Season 15 changes this system:

* Bosses no longer guarantee Royal Gems

* Elite monsters have increased gem drops

* Elite enemies in Torment 10+ can now drop Royal Gems

For players who used Seer's Reach as their main gem farm, this will probably feel like a nerf. The new system rewards players who continuously clear high-level content instead of repeating one specific activity. We will need to see the actual drop rates after launch, but Seer's Reach is unlikely to remain as dominant as before.

3. Echo of Mephisto Guarantees a Mythic Item

Echo of Mephisto has a guaranteed Mythic drop. However, the patch notes do not specify every difficulty or party-loot condition. Do not assume one player’s key guarantees a Mythic for everyone.

Before organizing a rotation, check who needs to spend a key and who receives the reward.

4. Iconic Mythics Will Not Get Normal Unique Versions

During PTR testing, Blizzard planned to add weaker Unique versions of some iconic Mythic items.

For example:

* A normal Unique version of Shako

* A normal Unique version of other famous Mythics

However, this idea was removed. In Season 15, these iconic items will remain exclusive Mythic items. This means players still need to chase the real Mythic versions instead of farming easier alternatives.

5. Mythic Unique Drop Rates Are Increased

Getting Mythic Uniques should be easier in Season 15.

The drop rate has been improved from multiple sources, including:

* Lair Bosses

* Mephisto

* Other possible Mythic Unique drop sources

This change addresses one of the biggest complaints from previous seasons. Many players spent a huge amount of time farming endgame content without seeing a single Mythic item.

With higher drop rates:

* Builds can reach their final form faster

* More players can experience Mythic-powered setups

* Endgame farming feels more rewarding

6. Leoric’s Crown Works With Soul Splinters

Leoric’s Crown counts as Jewelry for socketed gems and increases their effects by 75–100%. The Season 15 patch also fixes its interaction with Soul Splinters.

Compare the Crown setup with your current helm before switching. Test your damage, survivability, and resource sustain with the Splinters you actually plan to use, rather than assuming the Crown belongs in every build.

7. Legendary Items Drop More Often During Early Torment Levels

Early-season progression becomes smoother because Legendary item drop rates are increased in lower Torment levels. This solves a common early-game problem: You level up quickly, but your build still cannot function because you are missing important Aspects.

With this change, players can collect:

* Core Legendary Aspects faster

* Better leveling gear

* More complete starter builds

Your first character should feel much smoother compared with previous seasons.

8. Melted Heart of Selig Has Been Nerfe

Melted Heart of Selig’s Primary Resource bonus drops from 102–154% to 58–77%.

Do not copy last season’s immortal Barbarian setup without checking its resource sustain. For your first character, choose a starter build that works without the full Selig setup. Switch later, once the updated version has been tested.

9. Charms Can Now Reroll Their Affixes

The Horadric Cube’s Horadric Reroll works on Legendary-or-higher Charms and Seals. It rerolls base affixes while preserving set bonuses and Unique/Mythic Charm powers.

Keep a Charm with the effect your build needs, even if its base stats are poor. Check the recipe and material cost before rerolling, and decide which stats would make the item good enough to use.

10. Helltide Maggot XP Farming Is Nerfed

The popular Helltide Maggot experience farming method has been reduced. However, it does not appear to be completely removed. The change mainly lowers its efficiency compared with before.

It may still remain one of the best ways to:

* Reach Level 70 quickly

* Farm Paragon levels

* Start your seasonal progression

The best leveling route may change after launch, but players should still test this method before abandoning it.

Final Thoughts

Season 15 should make gearing up and playing alts easier, but some popular farms and Selig builds take a hit. Get your core Aspects first, keep useful Charms for rerolling, and work toward Mythic upgrades. Don’t blindly copy last season’s farming routes—check whether they still deliver after the nerfs.
