The Phantom Knight is Capie’s plate-armored caster Warlock setup, designed around a specific goal: kill bosses, handle competition for their loot, and extract with the rewards. It sacrifices some pure PvP strength to support that farming loop, rather than trying to win every fight on the map.

This guide covers the core loadout, gear priorities, High Roller stat targets, and a practical Ruins-to-Inferno farming route. Start with inexpensive practice runs before investing in a more expensive kit.

🔮 Spell Loadout

Equip Curse of Pain, Curse of Weakness, Bolt of Darkness, Flame Walker, and Summon Hydra.

Check your Spell Memory before entering a dungeon. This five-spell loadout requires 15 memory capacity. Make sure your equipped kit supports all five spells before starting the run.

This selection does not include Life Drain. A Hydra–Life Drain recovery rotation would therefore require a different spell loadout; it is not part of the baseline described here.

⚔️ Weapons and Armor

Use a Longsword for melee attacks and parries and a Crystal Ball for spellcasting. Keep them in separate weapon sets and practice switching between them.

Choose armor and accessories that balance durability, Dexterity, and casting speed rather than forcing a specific armor set. Start with Squire gear to practice positioning, weapon switching, and boss responses before investing in a High Roller kit.

When funding your first High Roller kit, keep a reserve for replacement gear. Players who choose to buy Dark and Darker gold should still avoid putting their entire budget into a single run.

Treat 291 movement speed as a reference for this build, not a guarantee of safe boss punishes. Check your speed with the weapon set and active buffs you actually use. Practice each dodge first, then add a follow-up attack only when you can consistently avoid the next hit.

⚔️ How to Handle PvP Without Losing the Run

The intended approach is to kite until you create an advantage, not immediately commit to a melee damage trade. This matters because the equipment is weighted toward boss farming rather than maximum player-versus-player strength.

A useful decision sequence is:

Create space → apply spell pressure → land Curse of Weakness → reassess whether to commit.

Against a Barbarian, do not rush into melee simply because your opening spells dealt meaningful damage. Look for an opportunity to land Curse of Weakness, maintain space, and reassess the fight before committing.

Spells also give this setup a way to pressure another player away from the boss and secure the loot without relying entirely on melee. When that creates an extraction opportunity, take it rather than turning a successful objective into an unnecessary chase.

🗺️ Gold Farming Route: Ruins to Inferno

Follow this farming route:

Ruins: Spectral Knight → Crypts: descend with limited detours → Inferno: boss or sub-boss fallback → extract.

🏰 Ruins: Complete the Objective and Move On

Start with Spectral Knight when you can manage the encounter, then take the next available descent into Crypts. Avoid lingering in Ruins to chase unrelated PvP fights, and do not force the boss attempt when the situation is unfavorable.

🚪 Crypts: Keep Detours Selective

Prioritize the descent to Inferno, taking sub-boss fights along the way when convenient. This route usually skips the Crypts boss rather than committing to an encounter you did not plan to run.

🔥 Inferno: Choose the Boss or the Fallback

Head toward the boss objective and assess competition before committing. If the room is too heavily contested, kill Inferno sub-bosses, collect equipment or jewelry, and extract instead. The boss tips below focus on Overseer.

🗡️ Recognize Sweeps and Dashes

Low sweep: Look left, crouch, and angle the Longsword tip toward the ground for the parry.

Bare-handed dash: Jump the attack. Add a follow-up hit only when your dodge is consistent and your movement speed allows you to avoid the next attack.

After taking a hit, avoid panic-running away, which can provoke repeated dashes. Focus on avoiding the next attack, then look for a recovery opportunity during a phase change or a flame-breath window with sufficient spacing.

💰 Finish the Run Before Chasing More Value

After the Inferno boss kill, search the treasure pile beneath the boss room when it is safe to loot.

For your own results, compare the value of extracted loot against replacement equipment and supplies. Do not judge the strategy by a single rare drop or your best run.

Build toward repeatable extractions, not increasingly expensive attempts. Upgrade when you can execute the route consistently, keep the sub-boss fallback available, and stop adding risk once the rewards already justify leaving.
