Based on other franchises of the two themed events (Diablo and SC) we got so far and I would like to see more of them. You can imagine how amazing an event could be that celebrate World of Warcraft and WoW with a map in which the players experience Azeroth and its lore.
Map and Event Main Features
Lanes: 2 minors (Top-Mid, Mid-Bot) and 5, 3 majors with Forts (Top, Mid, Bot).
Cores: with many references to the varies races of the Alliance and Horde resembles Stormwind and Orgrimmar.
Mercenaries: 2 types, Murlocs and Defias
Murloc Nest: Once you conquer the Nest, a horde of untargettable mini murlock appears in one of the lanes and starts demaging the defenses. While the damage are not really high, the horde will not stop until the Nest is destroyed.
Defias Tavern: Once this rogue is killed, outside the tavern the Defias will appear and could be engaged. A defias rogue will appear around the map randomly, untargettable by the Forts and minions. As a group of 5 thieves they could appear, 2 of whom can disable the towers.
For the Alliance, kill 100 heroes (both personal and team kills count) with 6 different Alliance Heroes in any play mode (currently we have: Uther, Malfurion, Jaina, Greymane, Varian, Muradin, Falstad, Tyrande, Medivh)
Rewards: Alliance Portrait and unlock the Golden King mount in the shop that can be bought for 30k+ gold.
For the Horde, kill 100 heroes with 6 different Horde heroes in any play mode (Thrall, Sylvanas, Samuro, ETC, Gul’Dan, Reghar, Gazlowe, Rexxar, Kael’thas)
Rewards: Horde Portrait and unlock the Kor’kron Annhilator mount in the shop that can be bought for 30k+ gold.
For Azeroth, Kill 100 heroes with 20 different Warcraft Heroes or something similar that require lot of time to complete.
Rewards: Unique Portrait and unlock the X-51 Rocket or another nice mount in the shop that can be bought for 50k+ gold.
1Map Concept- the Siege of Azeroth Periodically, a "Boss" spawns either Top, Mid or Bot, the first team who defeats it gain an advantage: Ragnaros (Bot Lane): Becomes untargettable and start erupting like a volcano focusing the losing team heroes first and finally hitting the enemy core. (I know that he is going to be a playable hero but I also think that he is one of the most iconic raid boss of all time). Deathwing (Top lane): Flies away and fires on the 3 main lanes damaging the team who did not conquer the objective.
Legion Invasion (Mid Lane): The team that defeat the Demon Lord, stops the invasion gain a boost of stats, becoming savior of Azeroth (The heroes will receive a buff similar to the spell Heroism in WoW) A huge demon lord, either Archimonde or KilJaden or Jaraxxus etc.., appears in the middle and starts creating demonic portals through the map that release demons that start attack both teams’ defenses.
It is complex, however it gives you the feeling of living in a world under constant threats from different enemies. It feels that each franchise should have a map that embodies the soul of its game and this could be an example.
2Map Concept - Demonic Gateways: Periodically two Demon Lord appears, one top and one bot, starting an evocation spell to open a getaway for Kiljaden, based on the various Burning Legion attempt to destroy Azeroth.
A timer should appear on the screen marking a countdown, after which the Demonic Gateway is open and Kiljaden appears in the mid of map spreading the legion invasion in a similar way of the first concept.
The teams could engage and defeat those two Demon Lords with two possible outcomes: One team engage and defeats one of the two Demon Lords, stopping the evocation spell and unleashing the wrath of the other Demon Lord on the opposite team defenses (acting as a normal boss).
Both teams do not stop the Demon Lords in time, Kiljaden arrives on the map and the two Demon Lords start attacking both teams’ defenses along with the portals evocated by Kiljaden.
