By Pen Slingers2022-12-20

Now that the Forbidden Sanctum is here with the latest patch, 3.20, you need a perfect starter for the league start. If you already have started with another build, you can use the Boneshatter Slayer for clearing maps faster when you want to rack more PoE currency and loot by the hour with a reasonable investment that is not so high. With its skill, this build can also be used for stunning lower-level non-Uber bosses and requires high cost and investment. Let's dive into the build and see what necessary PoE items and skill gems you need to make it work and shine for maximum currency output per hour.

Strengths and Weaknesses of Boneshatter Slayer

● Build Difficulty – Quite Low

● Investment Budget – Quite Low

● Map Clear Speed – Great, Actually

● Boss Battles – A little Weak

● Defensive Potential – Awesome

Skill Breakdown from Skill Gems

Let's look into the primary skills you need for this build to work properly.

Boneshatter

When you activate this skill, you jump to an enemy or a pack damaging them with a chance to stun them, dealing PHY DMG if you do. If they are stunned, you deal additional DMG by releasing a devastating pulse.

Berserk

You can activate this skill if you have more than 5 rage, which enhances your attributes such as DMG, AS, and Movement Speed. You lose 5 rage per second, and the effects stop as soon as the rage drops below 5.

Utility and Auras

Important ones for this setup are as follows:

● Molten Shell – Gives you a shield buff

● Leap Slam – Must-have supplement to Boneshatter, movement skill, and stunning monsters as you land.

● Determination – Huge armor buff and must for Trauma stacks you gain every time you use Boneshatter.

● Pride – AoE skill damaging enemies around you with PHY DMG

Warlord's Mark

Curses a single enemy who is now more susceptible to getting stunned and increases further with the "Cast when Damage Taken Support" skill gem. You gain Endurance charges and Rage Regen, which allows you to use more Berserk.

Totems

Ancestral Protector does melee ATK DMG to any enemy nearby while also granting you ATK Speed if you are near as well. You can also throw down Ancestral Warchief, increasing melee DMG while the totems slam enemies foolish enough to come near.

Ascendancy Breakdown for Boneshatter Slayer

The Boneshatter skill shatters your enemies' bones and deals DMG to you at every Boneshatter cast stacking the Trauma DMG. Therefore, we have chosen Slayer to counter this Trauma effect. Furthermore, The Slayer is great for gaining enhanced AoE DMG that you can use to explode enemy mobs. Following are the Ascendancy recommended for this build.

● Impact – This upgrade will give you enhanced accuracy plus some range to your attacks and AoE for mobs, which is our goal due to the mechanics of the build.

● Brutal Fervor – If you are full HP, your leech doesn't end and keeps you at full HP, enhancing your DMG per regen amount.

● Bane of Legends – Increases DMG by 10% after each kill and makes you immune to PHY DMG reflect. You also get a 20% increased DMG against unique enemies.

● Headsman – Perfect for bosses as it instantly kills bosses as soon as they are at 20% HP.

Gear Progression for Boneshatter Slayer

Let's look at the necessary gear you need to excel with this build and what items are changing from Early game goals to End game goals.

Early Game

Start with maxing elemental Res and upgrading weapons with increased ATK Speed to increase your content clear speed. Please don't invest in your Helmet or Body Armor with 5-links, as you will replace them soon.

● Weapon – Harvest Reforge: For ATK Speed and increased PHY DMG.

● Helmet – The Gull: For many enhanced attributes and chance to trigger lesser shrines. Furthermore, it increases shrine duration and affects on you.

● Armor – Harvest Reforge: Elemental Res and increased max HP. It will remain the same in the mid-game.

● Rings: For enhanced HP and Elemental Res. Remains same.

● Gauntlets – Harvest Reforge: Max HP, Elemental Res, and increased DMG when you are leeching life. Remains the same for mid-game.

● Belt: Increased stats and Elemental Res. Remains the same for mid-game.

● Boots – Dragon Scale Boots: Increased Move Speed other than standard attributes. Elemental Res preferred. Remains the same for mid-game.

● Flasks: Life, Jade, Quicksilver, Basalt, and Granite Flasks.

Mid Game

Swap any weapon you are carrying to Maces and other gear for Suppression that will help you stun bosses, as that's the only way you can deal enough DMG to them. Respec from other weapon nodes to Maces.

● Weapon – Piledriver: Reduces enemy's stun threshold and can impale enemies more. Keep it in the end game.

● Helmet – Pig-faced Bascinet: Increased Boneshatter DMG and enhanced PHY DMG converted to Fire DMG. Staple Gear. It remains part of the end game.

● Flasks: The Writhing Jar of the Hallowed Hybrid Flask replaces the life flask while others remain the same. Keep this combo for the end game.

End Game

The final gear focuses on Suppression maxing, and life leaches as much as you can on most gear. Essential to add Aul's Uprising the Onyx Amulet for fitting in with grace as it can reduce the recovery chance of enemies who are stunned by use.

● Amulet – Aul's Uprising the Onyx Amulet: This is the only significant change from the mid-game gear mentioned above; staple with the Piledriver to keep enemies stunned, which is the biggest DMG dealer in this build.

Farming Content Recommended for Boneshatter Slayer

Step by step, progress through the Atlas Maps and kill mobs as quickly as possible but gear yourself as strong as possible to tackle the non-Uber bosses that can become a pain in the Red Maps. You can always return to other maps to farm as much as possible if you feel you are struggling here.

● Early Game – Essence, Heists, and Harvesting.

● Mid Game – Essence, Harvesting, and Heists will be kept but add Expeditions and Eldritch Altars

● End Game – Focus now more on only Eldritch Altars, Expeditions, Heists, and Maven for "Formed" and, if you feel like it, "Twisted."

Ending Summary

The build is easy to manage, plus it definitely can be done if you are SSF. This build is about jumping around, exploding the enemies, and only having fun. There isn't much to the gear, and when you have the most crucial gear, such as the weapon, headgear, and amulet, you are set for the end game.
