Diablo 4 Season 15 is already showing a very different class meta after Patch 3.2.0 PTR testing. One major trend stands out: Damage over Time builds are performing especially well with the new Soul Splinters system.

Bleed, Poison, Burning, and Shadow DoT builds can take advantage of powerful seasonal bonuses without relying as heavily on traditional Critical Strike scaling. Meanwhile, Warlock has emerged as the biggest standout in current high-Pit testing.

Based on PTR performance, farming efficiency, build flexibility, and endgame potential, here is our early Diablo 4 Season 15 class tier list.

Note: This is a PTR-based prediction, not the final Season 15 ranking. Blizzard may still adjust class balance, Soul Splinters, and item interactions before launch.

Diablo 4 Season 15 Class Tier List: Best Builds for Leveling, Farming & Pit Pushing

Diablo 4 Season 15 Class Tier List

Tier Classes Current PTR Outlook
S Tier Warlock Clear leader in high-Pit testing
A Tier Rogue, Barbarian Strong endgame and Pit performance
A-/B+ Tier Spiritborn, Sorcerer Competitive with strong build-specific potential
B Tier Necromancer, Druid Viable but more dependent on build and setup
C Tier Paladin Currently behind the leading classes

The differences become most noticeable when pushing very high Pit tiers. For leveling, farming, and normal endgame progression, every class should still have viable options.

Why Soul Splinters Favor DoT Builds

Soul Splinters offer powerful bonuses but usually come with meaningful drawbacks. Some can reduce Critical Strike Chance, Life, resources, mobility, or other important stats.

This makes them especially interesting for builds that rely on sustained damage rather than repeated Critical Strikes. As a result, Burning, Poison, Bleed, and Shadow DoT are becoming important parts of the Season 15 PTR meta.

However, several Soul Splinter and item interactions still have known PTR issues, so their final power may change before launch.

S Tier – Warlock

Warlock is currently the standout Season 15 PTR class. Blazing Scream has reached Pit 150 in reported testing, while other Warlock builds also offer strong options for bosses and speed farming.

Blazing Scream Warlock

Best for: Pit pushing

Blazing Scream is currently one of the strongest PTR builds, combining Hellfire damage with powerful seasonal scaling. Its extremely high damage ceiling makes it the main Warlock build to watch for high-Pit progression.

Apocalypse Warlock

Best for: Boss damage

Apocalypse focuses more heavily on large burst windows and single-target damage. It has excellent endgame potential but generally benefits more from optimized gear than a typical farming build.

Hellhound Warlock

Best for: Speed farming

Hellhound offers fast and relatively relaxed gameplay, making it useful for Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, materials, and general progression.

A practical progression route is: Hellhound → Farm Gear → Blazing Scream or Apocalypse

A Tier – Rogue

Rogue remains one of the safest all-around Season 15 choices thanks to strong mobility, ranged damage, and excellent Poison scaling.

Penetrating Shot Rogue

Best for: Pit pushing

Penetrating Shot has been one of Rogue's strongest PTR performers. Combined with Poison effects, it offers strong sustained damage while allowing players to fight safely from range.

Rain of Arrows Rogue

Best for: AoE clearing

Rain of Arrows provides strong Poison-based area damage and works well against dense enemy packs. Its gearing also overlaps with other Poison Rogue setups, making build switching easier.

A Tier – Barbarian

Barbarian continues to perform well, with Whirlwind, Charge, and Rend covering different endgame goals.

Charge Barbarian

Best for: High-end progression

Charge combines mobility, crowd control, and damage, making it a strong option for players who prefer an aggressive playstyle.

Rend Barbarian

Best for: Bleed DoT

Rend benefits naturally from Season 15's stronger sustained-damage environment. Players can apply Bleed, reposition, and continue dealing damage while avoiding dangerous attacks.

Whirlwind Barbarian

Best for: Speed farming

Whirlwind remains one of Barbarian's smoothest farming options because players can move and attack simultaneously. It performs particularly well in Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, and lower Pit speed runs.

A-/B+ Tier – Spiritborn

Spiritborn still offers excellent mobility, AoE damage, and strong Poison options, although its current PTR ceiling appears closer to Sorcerer than to the leading Warlock and Rogue builds.

Poison Spiritborn

Best for: Balanced farming and Pit progression

Poison-focused setups can spread sustained damage quickly while moving through enemies. Spiritborn may not currently lead the PTR rankings, but its speed and versatility still make it a strong all-around choice.

A-/B+ Tier – Sorcerer

Sorcerer has shown competitive PTR results, particularly through Burning-focused setups.

Ring of Fire / Pyromancy Sorcerer

Best for: Endgame pushing

Burning fits well with the Season 15 DoT environment, making Ring of Fire and other Pyromancy setups some of Sorcerer's most promising endgame options.

Freeze Sorcerer

Best for: Control and general farming

Freeze builds provide strong crowd control and comfortable clearing, although they currently appear less consistent for maximum Pit pushing than the strongest Burning setups.

B Tier – Necromancer

Necromancer remains attractive because it offers easy early progression and several viable endgame directions.

Minion Necromancer

Best for: Leveling and early endgame

Minions handle much of the combat for you, making the build easy to use while leveling and collecting stronger gear.

Shadow DoT Necromancer

Best for: DoT-focused endgame

Shadow Damage over Time fits naturally with Season 15's sustained-damage mechanics and may become a stronger option once players obtain the required gear.

A simple progression path is: Minions → Farm Gear → Shadow DoT

B Tier – Druid

Druid is difficult to rank because several builds changed significantly during PTR testing. Poison setups are interesting, but Werebear and Hurricane-based builds have also shown competitive potential.

Rabies Druid

Best for: Poison DoT and AoE farming

Rabies spreads Poison through groups of enemies and can perform well in dense content. It is especially interesting for players who want to take advantage of Season 15's DoT mechanics.

Werebear / Hurricane Druid

Best for: Pit progression

Werebear and Hurricane-based setups have also appeared among Druid's stronger PTR options. Players focused on maximum Pit progression should keep an eye on these builds as balance changes continue.

C Tier – Paladin

Paladin currently appears to be the weakest overall class in high-end PTR testing.

Its main problem is damage scaling. Several competing classes have stronger combinations of skill multipliers, seasonal effects, and powerful item interactions.

That does not make Paladin unplayable. Players who enjoy the class should still be able to complete normal seasonal progression, but those focused entirely on maximum Pit pushing may want to wait for final balance changes.

Best Season 15 Classes by Activity

Goal Recommended Class / Build
Pit Pushing Blazing Scream Warlock
Best All-Around Rogue
Speed Farming Hellhound Warlock / Whirlwind Barbarian
DoT Gameplay Warlock / Rogue / Barbarian
Beginner-Friendly Minion Necromancer
Most Versatile Spiritborn

Which Class Should You Start in Diablo 4 Season 15?

Choose Warlock if your priority is maximum endgame and Pit potential.

Choose Rogue if you want strong farming, mobility, and high-end damage in one class.

Choose Barbarian if you enjoy aggressive gameplay and want several viable builds.

Choose Spiritborn if mobility and versatility matter more than chasing the highest PTR clear.

Choose Sorcerer if you enjoy ranged elemental gameplay and want to explore strong Burning setups.

Choose Necromancer if you want an easier start before transitioning into more specialized endgame builds.

Choose Druid if you prefer Poison, Werebear, or Hurricane playstyles and are comfortable experimenting as the meta develops.

Choose Paladin mainly if you enjoy the class itself, since its current PTR performance trails the leading options.

Season 15 Early Build Priority

Instead of immediately chasing a fully optimized Pit build, a smoother Season 15 progression is:

Leveling Build → Farming Build → Endgame Gear → Pit Build

Examples:

  • Warlock: Hellhound → Blazing Scream

  • Rogue: Poison setup → Penetrating Shot

  • Barbarian: Whirlwind → Charge or Rend

  • Necromancer: Minions → Shadow DoT

  • Spiritborn: Poison farming → optimized Poison build

This approach lets you farm efficiently before investing heavily in high-end gear and also gives you more flexibility if the meta changes.

Players who want to complete their Season 15 build faster can check Diablo 4 items for useful gear options and spend more time testing builds, farming endgame content, and pushing higher Pit tiers.

Final Thoughts

Diablo 4 Season 15 currently favors builds that can take advantage of Burning, Poison, Bleed, and other sustained damage effects.

Warlock is the clear PTR standout, while Rogue and Barbarian also show strong high-end potential. Spiritborn and Sorcerer remain competitive, with Necromancer and Druid offering viable options depending on the build.

However, PTR performance is not final. Balance changes and fixes to Soul Splinters, Uniques, and class interactions may significantly change the rankings before Season 15 launches.

For most players, the safest choice is not simply the class with the highest PTR clear, but one that offers fast farming, multiple viable builds, and a smooth path into endgame Pit pushing.
