In Diablo IV, gems are an essential resource for enhancing your gear and achieving top-tier performance. From increasing damage and survivability to optimizing utility, farming gems efficiently is crucial for both progression and challenging endgame content.

This guide covers the most effective methods to farm Royal, Grand, and Mythic Gems, including high-yield dungeons, fast-repeatable runs, and world events. Whether you aim for maximum gem quantity or rapid accumulation, the following strategies will help you optimize your farming routes and improve your gear.

Diablo 4 Season 13 Gem Farming Guide: Best Methods for Royal & Grand Gems

Why Players Farm Gems

Gems enhance gear by increasing damage, survivability, and utility. Higher-tier gems—Royal, Grand, and Mythic—are often required for crafting or upgrading top-tier items. Beyond crafting, gems are vital for challenging content like Torment dungeons, Pit levels, and Mythic farming. Optimal stats can make the difference between clearing content efficiently and struggling with repeated wipes.

Best Locations to Farm Gems

Here are the most effective methods to farm your Royal and Grand Gem yields.

Method 1: Enclave of Darkness

A high-yield dungeon ideal for players seeking Royal and Grand Gems. Each run can reward up to 10 Royal Gems and occasionally a Grand Gem.

Dungeon Details:

● Location: Westering Lowlands, Scosglen (Nahantu region, southwest of Teis city)

● Difficulty: Torment I (accessible to any player who can handle this level)

● Run Time: Approximately 4 minutes 30 seconds per run

Best for players prioritizing gem quantity over speed.

Step-by-Step Gem Farming in Enclave of Darkness

1. Enter the Dungeon

The dungeon is in the Westering Lowlands of Scosglen. Travel to the Nahantu region in Scosglen. Head southwest of Teis city, and then look for the dungeon entrance on your map.

2. Progress Through Multiple Levels

Navigate carefully through all floors. Defeat enemies and collect loot along the way.

3. Defeat the Final Boss

The final boss is a powerful scorpion. Defeating it rewards Royal Gems and a chance for a Grand Gem.

Method 2: Seer’s Breach

Seer’s Breach is a fast, repeatable dungeon designed for efficient gem farming. Each run typically takes about 1 minute, making it ideal for players looking for steady gem accumulation with minimal effort.

Dungeon Details:

● Location: Nahantu region, northeast of Teis city

● Difficulty: Any Torment level

● Rewards: ~3 Royal Gems per run, with a small chance for a Grand Gem

Perfect for “brainless” farming; focus on speed over quantity

Step-by-Step Gem Farming in Seer’s Breach

1. Locate the Dungeon

Travel to Nahantu and find the Seer’s Breach dungeon, located just northeast of the city of Teis.

2. Choose Difficulty and Focus on Speed

Enter the dungeon on any Torment difficulty. Ignore standard enemies and use your fastest movement skills to rush directly to the final boss. The boss at the end is a scorpion, which guarantees a drop of at least 3 Royal Gems and has a small chance to drop a Grand Gem.

3. Reset and Repeat

● After completing the run, reset the dungeon to farm again:

● Open your action wheel and select Leave Dungeon to teleport back to the entrance.

● Open your map and click Reset Dungeons.

● Repeat the process as needed to continuously gather gems efficiently.

If you can do 3–4 Seer’s Breach runs faster than one Enclave run, Seer’s Breach may be more time-efficient. Otherwise, Enclave of Darkness provides higher gem yields per run, ideal for players prioritizing gem quantity over speed.

Method 3: Infernal Hordes

Infernal Hordes are high-difficulty enemy waves that spawn randomly across the world. They come in tiers, and higher-tier Hordes reward more Burning Aether. By defeating all enemies in a Horde, you accumulate significant amounts of Aether.

Once you have enough Burning Aether, exchange it for Spoils of Materials caches, which contain gem fragments that can be used to craft or upgrade gems for your gear sockets. You can:

● Prioritize higher-tier Hordes for better fragment yields.

● Use AoE (Area of Effect) skills to clear waves faster.

● Team up with friends to increase kill speed and maximize rewards.

This method lets you gather fragments organically while completing regular Horde events.

Method 4: Helltides

Helltides are dynamic world events that offer extra opportunities to collect gem fragments. During a Helltide, you can:

● Open chests: Helltide chests often contain fragments.

● Mine ore nodes: Some nodes directly reward fragments.

●Complete event objectives: Harvest materials and resources in the Helltide zone to accumulate fragments in bulk.

If Infernal Hordes appear in the same area, tackle them along your route for maximum efficiency.

Method 5: Jeweler

After collecting enough fragments, visit the Jeweler NPC to:

● Craft new gems for your gear.

● Transmute fragments between different gem types to match your needs.

● Upgrade gems to the highest level for optimal gear performance.
