The Jester's Festival is returning to The Elder Scrolls Online from March 25th to April 2nd, 2026, bringing with it a week of whimsical festivities, unique rewards, and a brand-new event currency system. Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or new to Tamriel, Spopes's video guide will provide you with all the information you need about this fun event, including how to participate, the activities available, and the coveted rewards up for grabs.

What Is the Jester's Festival?

Among ESO's annual events, the Jester's Festival stands out for its playful and laid-back nature. This one-week celebration offers players a chance to engage in quirky daily quests and earn event-specific rewards. While it may not be as extensive as other events, it serves as a fun prelude to the Anniversary Jubilee, which typically follows shortly after.

This year's Jester's Festival introduces some exciting updates, including the debut of Trade Bars and the Gold Coast Bazaar, alongside returning favorites like themed furnishings, provisioning recipes, and unique collectibles.

How to Start the Jester's Festival

Getting started with the Jester's Festival is straightforward. Here's how:

1. Event Dates: The festival begins on March 25th and ends on April 2nd.

2. Event Pavilion: Visit the event pavilion located in the capital cities of your Alliance. Alternatively, you can pick up the Jester's Festival Invitation Quest from the Crown Store for free.

3. Pie of Misrule Memento: Completing the introductory quest will reward you with the Pie of Misrule memento. In previous years, you needed to use this item to activate a 100% XP buff, but for 2026, this buff is now passive throughout the event. This is an excellent opportunity for leveling up your characters—especially if you're starting fresh with a new class like the Dragonknight.

Activities During the Jester's Festival

The festival revolves around completing daily event-specific quests, which reward players with Jester's Festival Boxes. There are seven unique quests available each day, with each offering its own blend of silliness and humor. While some players may find these quests repetitive over time, they're worth completing at least once to fully experience the event's quirky charm.

• Stupendous Jester's Festival Box: Your first completed quest of the day will reward you with a special "stupendous" box containing premium rewards.

• Jester's Festival Box: Subsequent quests will grant regular festival boxes with a variety of items.

If you have multiple characters, you can complete all seven daily quests on each character to maximize your rewards. However, if you prefer a more casual approach, completing just one quest per day will still net you substantial benefits.

Rewards: What's New and What's Returning

Regular Jester's Festival Boxes

The standard Jester's Festival Boxes contain a mix of returning and event-exclusive items, including:

• Festive Dazzlers

• Cherry Blossom Confetti

• Revelry Pies

• Event-only furnishings

• Event-specific provisioning recipes (e.g., Jewels of Misrule, which boosts max health, stamina recovery, and magicka recovery—highly sought after even outside the festival)

• Decorative items such as Jester Festival flyers, masks (happy and sad), garlands, and shorter garlands

• Treasures that can be sold to vendors for TESO gold

• Style pages from previous years' festivals

• A random unbound page for either the Broom or Bucket styles

• Regal Regalia, Second Seed, Jester Seeker Suit, and Alliance Mimicry styles

  • Sovereign Sow pet

  • Playful Prankster's Surprise Box memento

  • Jester's Daedroth Suit costume

One Bad Night Outfit Style

The first box you earn each day contains premium rewards. Here are some of the highlights:

• One Bad Night Outfit Style Pages: This year introduces this brand-new armor style with a traditional "battered knight" aesthetic that has already garnered praise among players.

• Thorn's Bite Withersteed Collectible Fragment: This is the first time a piece of a morphing collectible can drop directly from an event box. Previously, players had to save up event tickets to purchase similar items. This change should make collecting these items more accessible.

• Jester Scintillator Runebox: A unique item exclusive to this year's festival.

• Cherry Blossom Branch Runebox: A highly coveted drop for its festive appeal.

• Cadwell's Kitchen Weapons Style Pages: A quirky addition for fans of Sir Cadwell.

• Tradeable treasures

• Festive Noise Maker Parts

• Joke Popper Parts

The Thorn's Bite Withersteed: A Controversial Mount

One of this year's most polarizing additions is the Thorn's Bite Withersteed, a new morphing collectible mount. While any new mount is usually cause for excitement among players, this particular steed has drawn criticism for being a reskin of the Azure Blight Wild Hunt Steed—a mount that itself was a reskin of an earlier Wild Hunt Horse.

The lack of originality has left many players disappointed, as they expected a more unique design for an event-exclusive reward. However, if you're not bothered by its similarity to earlier mounts or simply appreciate the new color scheme, this collectible could still be worth pursuing.

Introducing Trade Bars and the Gold Coast Bazaar

This year marks a major shift in ESO's event reward system with the introduction of Trade Bars and the Gold Coast Bazaar. Replacing Event Tickets, Trade Bars are now the primary currency for event rewards.

Key Details:

• Players will earn 300 Trade Bars per day by completing their first festival quest. Over the course of the event, this adds up to a total of 2,400 Trade Bars.

• Existing event tickets will automatically convert into Trade Bars at no loss to players.

• The launch of the Gold Coast Bazaar on March 25th coincides with the start of the Jester's Festival. This new in-game store will feature a variety of items available for purchase using Trade Bars, including both evergreen items and limited-time event-specific rewards.

Final Thoughts

While the Jester's Festival itself remains relatively simple compared to other ESO events, it offers an enjoyable break from routine gameplay and provides ample opportunities to collect unique rewards. From festive decorations and provisioning recipes to mounts and collectibles, there's plenty for players to enjoy during this week-long celebration.

The introduction of Trade Bars and the Gold Coast Bazaar is arguably the most exciting aspect of this year's festival. This new system promises greater flexibility in how players earn and spend event currency while opening up new possibilities for future events.

If you're looking to make the most of this event, focus on earning your daily stupendous box for premium rewards and stockpiling Trade Bars for use in both the Gold Coast Bazaar and Impresario store. Whether you're chasing style pages, provisioning recipes like Jewels of Misrule, or rare collectibles like the Spectral Indrik or Rose Blood Wings Recall, there's something for everyone during this whimsical festival.
