If you are chasing the Mythic Prankster Nightmare Dungeon Sigil in Season 11, this guide breaks down the most efficient farming loop currently available. This is not a guaranteed method. The sigil is extremely rare. What this loop does is stack the odds in your favor by forcing as many Nightmare Sigil drops and rerolls as the game allows.
What You’re Farming and Why It Matters
The Mythic Prankster Nightmare Dungeon Sigil is special because:
- It enables the Mythic Prankster Goblin event
- That event awards five Mythic Uniques
- You also receive a Resplendent Spark
Because the sigil is tied to Nightmare Sigil generation, everything in this guide focuses on:
- Forcing large sigil drops
- Recycling sigils into Sigil Powder
- Crafting and checking as many sigils as possible
Step 1: Stockpile Living Steel (Do This Once)
Before starting the loop, farm around 200–204 Living Steel from Diablo 4 Helltide chests.
Why this matters:
- The loop sustains itself afterward
- You will not need to return to Helltides once it starts
- 200+ Living Steel is the minimum buffer that keeps everything flowing
Once you hit this amount, stop doing Helltides.
Step 2: Seasonal Essences (Mandatory Setup)
You must have both seasonal essences at Level 5:
- Essence of Sin
- Essence of Hellfire
Do not skip leveling these. Their bonuses directly affect:
- Boss material drops
- Nightmare Dungeon Sigil drops
Correct Essence Slotting
Layer Bosses (Gregoire, Duriel, Andariel, Lord Zir):
- Purified Slot: Essence of Hellfire
- Corrupted Slot: Essence of Sin
Outside World Bosses (World Bosses, Outside Azmodan Event):
- Purified Slot: Essence of Sin
- Corrupted Slot: Essence of Hellfire
This swap is critical. Forgetting it lowers your sigil output.
Step 3: Spend All Living Steel on Gregoire (Torment IV)
Go to Gregoire on Torment IV and spend all Living Steel.
Your goals here:
- Stygian Stones
- Shards of Agony
- Surprise spawns of Belial
If Belial appears:
- Betrayer’s Husks
- Corrupted Eyes of Belial
Both are pure upside. Always take the kill.
Step 4: Duriel Runs (And the 20-Item Trick)
Move to Duriel.
- Spend Shards of Agony
- Convert Stygian Stones into more Shards
- Farm Corrupted Horns of Duriel
Important Inventory Rule
If you hold 20 or more of a corrupted Diablo 4 item, that item stops dropping.
Solution:
- Leave Corrupted Horns on the ground
- Pick them up only after you can’t open any more chests
- This lets you bypass the 20-item cap
Belial can also appear here. Kill him every time.
Step 5: Kill Belial When Possible
If you have 2+ Betrayer’s Husks, go kill Belial.
Each kill gives:
- 5 Corrupted Eyes of Belial
Again:
- Leave them on the ground
- Pick them up at the end to bypass the cap
Step 6: Outside Azmodan Event (The Core of the Farm)
Go south of Zarbinzet to the outside Azmodan event.
Before opening chests:
- Purified Slot: Essence of Sin
- Corrupted Slot: Essence of Hellfire
Chests to Open
- Duriel Chest (5 Corrupted Horns)
- Belial Chest (5 Corrupted Eyes)
- Andariel Chest (later)
Why This Event Is So Important
Each chest has roughly a 40% chance to drop huge piles of Nightmare Dungeon Sigils.
Duriel’s chest also drops:
- ~50 Living Steel
- ~20 Exquisite Blood
This is what makes the loop infinite.
Step 7: How to Handle Nightmare Sigils Correctly
This part matters more than most players realize.
Never teleport to town while sigils are on the ground.
They will disappear.
Correct method:
- Pick up sigils until the inventory is full
- Check each one for the Mythic Prankster affix
- Move away slightly
- Drop them on the ground
- Repeat until all sigils are checked
- Then teleport to town
- Salvage all sigils at the Occultist
You get Sigil Powder, which feeds back into crafting more sigils.
Step 8: Continue the Boss Loop
Using materials from Azmodan chests:
- Lord Zir
- Spend Exquisite Blood
- Farm Pincushioned Dolls
- Andariel
- Spend Dolls
- Farm Corrupted Claws of Andariel
- Leave them on the ground until finished
- Return to Gregoire
- Then Duriel
- Then Belial, if possible
- Back to Outside Azmodan
The loop feeds itself indefinitely.
Step 9: Crafting Sigils for Extra Chances
Once you have enough Sigil Powder:
- Craft Nightmare Dungeon Sigils
- Check each one individually
- Salvage them again
This gives you additional rolls at the Mythic Prankster sigil without relying on boss drops.
Step 10: World Boss Bonus
World Bosses are excellent sigil sources.
When doing them:
- Purified Slot: Essence of Sin
They are not farmable on demand, but every kill is worth doing while chasing this sigil.
