Survivability 9/10

Critical Multiplier

Gear

Carcass Jack (Budget Option)

For your budget body armour, look for a Carcass Jack. It grants up to 1000 Evasion, 240 Energy Shield, 70 Life, 12% to all elemental resistances, and 50% increased area of effect.

Belly of the Beast (Budget Option)

This is another great choice. It grants up to 40% increased life and 15% to all elemental resistances.

Storm Wrap Syndicate's Garb (Powerful Option)

The best body armour you can get is one with a lot of life and "+ critical strike chance with attacks".

Starforge (Powerful Option)

This is the best sword for this build. It has a great amount of physical DPs, 20% increased area of effect, and up to 100 life.

Kondo's Pride (Budget Option)

While saving currency to buy your Starforge, this sword is the perfect budget alternative.

Starkonja's Head (Budget Option)

I recommend this helmet because it's the one that grants more survivability. It grants up to 100 life and a huge evasion boost.

Rat's Nest (Budget Option)

This is a great offensive helmet. It grants 15% increased attack speed and up to 75% increased critical strike chance.

Honour Salvation Dire Pelt (Powerful Option)

If you have more currency, look for a rare helmet with armour/evasion, at least 70 life, and "nearby enemies take 9% increased physical damage".

Woe Visetitan Gauntlets

Look for rare gloves with armour, life, and elemental resistances. Then use "Lesser Eldritch Embers" until you get the implicit mod that grants: "gain 1 rage on hit with attacks".

The Stampede

These unique boots will cause your movement speed to always be 150% of its base value. This way, the Cyclone of Tumult has no downside anymore. These boots can also have an anointment, so I recommend you to get "Cruel Preparation" because it's cheap and compensates for the lack of life and elemental resistances.

Rare Ring Beast Circle Coral

Look for a rare ring with life, accuracy rating, and elemental resistances.

Rare Amulet Fate Choker Onyx

Look for a rare amulet with life, elemental resistances, and a lot of intelligence.

Rare Belt Cataclysm Strap Leather

Look for a rare belt with life and elemental resistances.

Rare Stygian Vise (Powerful Option)

If you have more currency, grab a good Stygian Vise instead.

Divine Life Flask

Life flask with 'Instant Recovery' and 'Removes Bleeding'.

Basalt Flask

A Basalt flask is awesome to give you a huge amount of extra armour. Look for one that grants "gain flask charges when hit" and "reduced effect of curses".

Diamond Flask

This flask grants more critical strikes. Look for one that also grants "charges when you deal a critical strike" and "increased armour during flask effect".

Jade Flask

Jade flask with "charges when you deal a critical strike" and "increased evasion during flask effect".

Lion's Roar

This flask boosts melee damage and armour.

Gems

Sword

Cyclone of Tumult - Brutality - Melee Physical Damage - Lifetap - Pulverise - Close Combat

● Start forming a 4L with Brutality, Lifetap, and Melee Physical Damage.

● When you get an armour with 5 or 6 links, you can add Pulverise and Close Combat.

Armour

Vaal Grace - Vaal Haste - Vaal Molten Shell - Automation - More Duration - Summon Ice Golem

● Vaal Grace grants more chances to avoid damage. Use it on bosses.

● Vaal Haste grants a lot more attack speed. Use it on bosses.

● Molten Shell gives you a shield that absorbs damage. It'll be triggered by Automation.

● Ice Golem grants accuracy and critical chance.

Helmet

Assassin's Mark - Leap Slam - Berserk - Mark on Hit

● Berserk burns your rage for a lot more rage effect. Use it on bosses.

● Leap Slam is a great movement skill.

● Assassin's Mark is a curse that grants more critical chance and multiplier.

Gloves

War Banner - More Duration - Increased Area of Effect - Enhance

● War Banner grants a lot more damage when placed; always use it on bosses.

Boots

Pride - Blood and Sand - Determination - Blood Rage

● Determination is a lot more armour.

● Pride causes enemies to take more physical damage.

● Blood and Sand grants area damage or area of effect depending on the stance. Use sand for clear and blood for bosses.

Jewels

Recommended Mods

Physical Damage

Melee Damage

Area Damage

Attack Speed

Critical Multiplier

Maximum Life

Watcher's Eye

You need the mod "25% chance to impale enemies on hit" while using Pride. This kind of Watcher's Eye isn't expensive, but it's awesome for your damage. Using 1 you'll achieve 100% chance to impale. If you have this jewel and run the "run through" cluster jewel, you can respec the sword mastery that grants an impale chance for an extra skill point.

Pantheon

Major God: Brine

Minor God: Shakari

Leveling

Tips

1. Don't rush it

Leveling at a steady pace ensures you're never under-leveled.

2. Always press "U" to check your quests and side-quests

It's important to do all of them, as some reward you with permanent passive skill points and respec points. They can also unlock useful NPCs like Siosa. While completing them, you'll also kill more monsters and gain extra experience. If you have any issues, search the quest on poewiki.net.

3. Each act has a town

There, you'll find an NPC who sells weapons/armor and another who sells accessories and flasks. Always keep your flasks updated to match your level.

4. If you don't have leveling gear, update your weapon regularly with the equipment NPC. Just make sure the mods are actually helpful. Hover over your main skill icon and check the tooltip damage to see if the weapon is an upgrade.

5. The NPC who sells flasks has a second tab with skill gems

If you're missing one, check its name on poewiki. Net to learn where to find it. You can also buy it from players at pathofexile.com/trade. Most are very cheap.

After completing the "fixture of fate" quest in Act 3, you unlock Siosa, who sells almost all gems.

After the "fallen from grace" quest in Act 6, you get access to an even better gem vendor.

6. Have issues with strength, dexterity, or intelligence in the first acts?

Buy an amulet with the right stat from the NPC who sells flasks.

7. After completing Act 2, go back to Act 1 and talk to Bestel to claim a passive point from the "the way forward" side-quest. Many new players miss this.

8. In Act 3, you can complete your first labyrinth and choose your ascendancy, but it's usually best to level up a bit more first for a smoother run.

9. In Act 4, you can farm the aqueduct until level 40. This gives you a solid level advantage and a chance to drop the "Humility" card, which sells for chaos orbs.

10. Keep an eye on your elemental resistances

Try to have at least 50% of each after level 40. By the time you finish Act 10, you should aim for 75% in all of them to safely enter the endgame.

Skills

● From 1 to 12, use Ground Slam

● Then use Sunder until level 28

● Then you can already use Cyclone

● If this is your first character, do the following steps:

1-create a Duelist

2-reach the first town (takes 5 minutes)

3-talk to Tarkleigh and pick Ground Slam as your reward

4-put your mace with Ground Slam and Ruthless in your stash

● Now, when you create your Duelist, you'll have to use Double Strike until you reach the first town. There, you can grab your mace with Ground Slam and Ruthless in your stash.

● Reaching level 8, you can also support your Ground Slam with Maim and Added Fire Damage.

● Reaching level 12, replace Ground Slam with Sunder.

● Reaching level 16, activate Herald of Purity and Summon Skitterbots for more damage.

● Reaching level 18, replace Added Fire Damage with Melee Physical Damage.

● Reaching level 28, replace Sunder with Cyclone.

● Also, replace Ruthless with Infused Channeling.

● It's also a good time to equip your Edge of Madness.

● Reaching level 31, replace Maim with Pulverise.

● Reaching level 44, equip the unique sword Rigwald's Charge.

● Now, you can start using the main Cyclone setup.

● Also, at level 44, replace Skitterbots with Blood and Sand.

● Reaching level 63, equip The Stampede boots, and you can already start using the Cyclone of Tumult skill.

● If you don't have The Stampede boots yet, you need to keep using the regular Cyclone skill until you get them.

● Reaching level 69, replace Herald of Purity with Determination. Also, add Pride.

Conclusion

That's all the Daniel's powerful Cyclone Duelist build. You can watch his YouTube to view the Passive Tree part if you find this build helpful.
