By Shirley Huang2022-08-19

Blizzard has announced that WoW Classic WotLK Pre-Patch will come on Aug 30

WotLK Pre-Patch -1

WotLK Classic will be officially released on Sep 26, so players will have four weeks to prepare their characters for the trip to Northrend. Create their first Death Knight Hero class, take up the way of the scribe with the new Inscription Profession, and experience a host of new systems updates.

TBC players will get the Joyous Journeys buff that will increase your experience gains by 50%!

4 Insane Things You Can Do in WotLK Pre-Patch

Broken Classes

For most players, the most important thing that will be insane on the pre-patch is how broken classes are.

The most obvious example is. Warrior, fury Warrior to be exact. If you've been actively raiding, I hope you've thought about putting a couple of two-handed weapons in the bank. If not, start working towards that now. Fury Warrior on pre-patch with two-handed weapons is just insanity. It's not just fury Warrior, most classes get some crazy new toolkits, and those were not designed to be used in TBC content, which is why playing just about anything feels so fun and broken right now. Of course, there's Death Knight. Never seen a level 70 DK in Sunwell? Trust me, you'll see a bunch in pre-patch, and they absolutely blast. Speaking of Sunwell, here's a log of a pre-patch.

This shows how absolutely broken each class is and what happens when you give the Wrath class toolkits to fight TBC content with. Well, some crazy stuff happens, and it's insanely fun. So when pre-patch drops, do a raid and look at your numbers tripling overnight, it will be a sight to see, and it won't last for long, so don't miss that.

Fast Leveling

Everyone in Classic TBC received this buff, the Joyous Journeys. This applies to anyone below level 70 and allows you to gain 50% more experience from all sources. This is a big deal on its own and will increase your level considerably faster than you normally would. But you probably don't know that this buff will persist through the pre-patch. It will disappear once the expansion is released. The pre-patch itself will also bring its fair share of a speed increase to leveling.

WotLK Pre-Patch -3

Just like it was the case in TBC when Wrath was released, Blizzard wants you to get to max level and experience the end game about as fast as you would have in Classic or TBC. The thing is, there are 10 more levels now, so they need to make going through Azeroth and Outland faster, and they did that in the original Wrath by any means. Decrease the XP needed for each level, increase the XP each quest gives, make many quests faster by changing them from elite to solo quests, and so on. All of that will be coming with pre-patch. Combined with the Joyous Journeys buff, it will mean that leveling through Azeroth and Outland will be insanely fast.

When the pre-patch drops, leveling will be insanely fast, and I would definitely take this chance to level as many characters as possible. Gearing up is as important as leveling up your characters in WotLK Classic. The better gear you have, the more powerful your character will be. It's the best time to do so.

Gold Making

Next up, let's talk about gold. Now it's no surprise that gold early on in Wrath will be very valuable. There's a ton of Wrath of the Lich King Classic gold at the beginning of the game. You're the double specialization, to flying skill, Dalaran Ring, tundra mammoth, and so on, so every penny you can save will be a huge help.

Here's a mistake you want to avoid doing, not just during the pre-patch but also throughout Wrath, never buy your fast flying skill, that being Artisan flying. The 5000 gold one from Shadowmoon Valley, if you do, you'll be spending the full 5000 gold price tag on it. Instead, head to Honor Hold or Thrallmar, and right there, you'll see this new mount trainer sitting there.

The special thing with this trainer is that his faction shows Stormwind or Orgrimmar. It means that you will be eligible for reputation discounts from him, which includes Artisan flying. If you're exalted, this will bring the price down from 5k gold to 4k gold. You'll be saving with this one trick across all your current and future characters, especially considering that you'll want to level a bunch of characters in pre-patch. With this one tip, you'll be saving a ton of gold, so remember, always buy your skills from Honor Hold or Thrallmar.

Dailies

Here's the next crazy thing that will be happening on the pre-patch. Dailies that happen during pre-patch will still give the same amount of gold.

And this makes complete sense, and you don't want players to be doing Quel'danas across 5 million characters and drowning the economy in generated gold. It seems like you still can in the pre-patch. Some veterans can make 10k gold per week doing just dailies. How crazy! You can throw any character you have at these dailies, and you'll be clearing them in a fraction of the time. Also, fast flying is 1k cheaper now.
