Season of Mastery is going into its third phase soon. Phase 3 will feature new raid content like Blackwing Lair, Darkmoon Faire, etc. Blackwing Lair is coming on Feb 10 and getting some pretty significant fight overhauls. It is a familiar raid for anyone who's made it to the Classic WoW's endgame. However, SoM players will find it's become a much different raid than they're used to. Here MmoGah.com would like to share some massive Blackwing Lair changes, and you can stock enough SoM gold to prepare for Phase 3.
After Blackwing Lair comes out, gamers will have a chance to zone into the raid and begin progressing on the next wave of WoW Classic content. Blackwing Lair contains eight raid bosses to defeat. Nefarian, the son of Deathwing, is waiting for players at the end of the raid.
Blackwing Lair is located at the very height of Blackrock Spire. You can go up into the mountain from either the Burning Steppes or through Searing Gorge. To enter Blackwing Lair, you need to be attuned to the instance first. Here, you must kill an enemy - Scarshield Quartermaster in Blackrock Spire. Once you kill him, you can loot an item - Blackhand's Command, which is needed to unlock the quest to enter Blackwing Lair. This quest can get you into Upper Blackrock Spire to access the Orb of Command located behind General Drakkisath's throne. You can have your team distract him or just kill him to get him out of the way. After Warchief Rend Blackhand has been defeated, you'll have access to an additional alternate entrance within Upper Blackrock Spire. You'll need to be in a raid group to enter.
There are some massive changes on Blackwing Lair, which will make the raid much harder to clear for players and guilds.
Blizzard updated all-newly boss fights and mechanics for almost all bosses in SoM PTR. Some of them will be tough to overcome. Here I list these raid bosses: Razoregore, Vaelestrasz, Broodlord Lashlayer, Firemaw, and Ebonroc and Flamegor, Nefarian, and Chromaggus. All of them will be much more challenging than the original raid, but Chromaggus will be a true test, even for veteran players.
The additional loot dropping from bosses in Onyxia's Lair, Molten Core, and Blackwing Lair has been increased by 1 item per boss.
When max-level alchemists craft any type of item, there is a chance to “proc” additional potions, elixirs, and flasks.
The “Adventure Awaits” quest experience buff has been raised from 40% to 100%.
The Unstable Chromatic Drake add should properly use his abilities once again.
The damage component of the Unstable Chromatic Drake's Azure Bolt ability has been removed.
Vaelastrasz starts with 60% health. Essence of the Red lasts for 4 minutes.
Burning Adrenaline will target the primary threat target earlier in the encounter.
Broodlord Lashlayer Changes
Disconnects during Broodlord Lashlayer and the suppression room should be resolved.
A new Static Electricity debuff will stack every time you take damage.
At 10 stacks, you can release a Chain Lightning effect to all nearby (10-15 yards) players.
Ebonroc and Flamegor Changes
Both Drakes pull simultaneously.
Ebonroc and Flamegor will root themselves in place and face each other when casting Wing Buffet.
There is a cooldown between when Wing Buffet and Shadow Flame are cast.
Nefarian's Drakonid adds were causing them to spawn too quickly in phase 1 which is now resolved.
Adds spawn faster on the add waves.
Chromaggus randomly rotates between all breath attacks (up from two).
Chromaggus'breath is now a 360-degree attack and can no longer be line-of-sighted by normal means.
