How to Score Free Kicks in FIFA 17

By Shirley Huang2017-03-03

One of the biggest changes in FIFA 17 is the enhanced way of taking free kicks. Scoring on a free kick is a little different than what before. Now players can move their free-kick taker around the ball and create all sorts of results, just as in real life. It means that a player hits the ball with different parts of his foot and creates different spin. All players have the same dream: goals.

In this article, Mmogah will introduce all kinds of free kicks and cover some ways to score goals during free kicks.

What is actually a free kick?

The referee will penalize Team A with a free-kick for the opposing team B, if Team A gets a foul.

The free kick will take place during the foul or the regular offense. The starting point for a free kick is a resting football on the ground.

There are 9 different types of free kicks in FIFA 17. Different standards are influenced by different factors, such as the distance to the goal or the position of opponents stand up.

As you know, practice makes perfect, but don’t expect to be scoring a goal every free kick. You still need to master some techniques before you can be confident in your goal scoring abilities.

1. You should run the free weights and score really well, but you should be able to adjust to different situations and positions. You should memorize the different mechanics.

2. If you're taking a direct free kick, you can position your player and dictate his approach on dead balls. This allows for a wider variety of set piece deliveries. So, you step backwards from the free kick and control your run, choosing from a variety of angles, this could keep your opponent guessing as to where you're going to place the ball.

3. If your free kick is from a wide position, you can set a target in the area to aim your kick towards. Once you've done that, your teammates will react to your placement with runs.

4. Take into account whether your kicker is right-footed or left-footed. If he is right-footed, aim for the left post. If he is left-footed, aim for the right post.

5. Charge up your shot to around the midpoint.

6. If you aim correctly, the shot will curve nicely into a spot where the keeper can't reach.
