Mistfall Hunter Secret Quest Guide: How to Unlock the Hallowgrove Woodling Head

The Hallowgrove Woodling - Head is a free Legendary cosmetic hidden behind the Woodlings and the Goddess questline in Mistfall Hunter.

This quest is easy to miss because it does not begin with a normal quest marker. You first need to climb a statue in the hub and perform a hidden interaction. After that, the quest sends you to Twig, Soekja, Hallowgrove, and Brandrgarde.

The good news is that the questline is fairly simple once you know where to go.

Quick Quest Overview

Quest order: The Perplexed Woodling → Tit for Tat → Storytelling Props → Trading Secrets → A Fair Trade! → Where Are the Shinies → Born of the Same Root.

1. Climb the Statue and Bow

Start near the large statue in the hub, close to the tavern area.

Use the branch at the bottom of the statue as your starting point. Walk along it, crouch underneath the shield or arm, and jump onto the shield. From there, climb onto the statue’s upper body and then reach its head.

The jumps can feel a little awkward, so take your time and stand near the center of each surface before jumping again.

Once you reach the top, face the nearby Divine Statue. Wait for the Bow interaction to appear and use it.

Simply reaching the top is not enough. You must perform the Bow interaction to start the quest.

2. Talk to Twig and Soekja

After bowing to the statue, find Twig from the Scavenger Squad.

Twig is confused by your gesture and asks about the Goddess of Fate. After speaking with him, the quest sends you to Soekja, who knows more about the story.

Follow the quest marker and talk to Soekja. This completes Tit for Tat and starts Storytelling Props.

3. Extract with Legendary-Quality Loot

For Storytelling Props, enter Hallowgrove, find any piece of Legendary-quality loot, and successfully extract with it.

You do not need a specific weapon, key, armor piece, or chest. Any Legendary-quality item obtained during the run should count.

Once you find one, head for extraction instead of continuing to loot. Dying before you leave will prevent the objective from completing.

A few simple tips:

• Keep the Legendary item in your carried inventory.
• Avoid unnecessary fights after finding it.
• Extract as soon as possible.
• Check the quest tracker after returning to the hub.

After extracting, return to Soekja to complete Trading Secrets. He will share the story of the Goddess of Fate and send you back to Twig.

4. Return to Twig

Take Soekja’s story back to Twig and complete A Fair Trade!.

Twig agrees to share the Woodlings’ secrets, but first asks you to recover two treasures lost by the Scavenger Squad. This unlocks:

You must now recover one hidden treasure in Hallowgrove and another in Brandrgarde.

At each location, follow the quest marker, interact with the marked treasure, and confirm that the objective updates in your quest tracker.

5. Find the Hallowgrove Treasure

The first treasure is located in the southern part of Hallowgrove, inside the Refugee Camp.

Before entering, track Where Are the Shinies so the quest marker is easier to follow. Once inside Hallowgrove, head toward the Refugee Camp in the southern part of the map.

When you reach the marked area, look for an object with an interaction prompt. Move close to it and press the required key to investigate it.

You should receive a message confirming that you found treasure abandoned by the Scavenger Squad.

Check the quest tracker before leaving to make sure the Hallowgrove objective has updated.

You may find materials, jewelry, or other loot in nearby containers, but these are normal map drops and are not the final cosmetic reward.

6. Find the Brandrgarde Treasure

The second treasure is located in western Brandrgarde, inside the Exile Pit.

Brandrgarde can be more dangerous, especially when playing alone, so a cheaper loadout is usually safer. Saving some Mistfall Hunter Gyldenblod for replacement gear can also make a failed run less painful.

Once inside:

1. Head toward the western side of the map.
2. Find the Exile Pit.
3. Follow the quest marker.
4. Locate the hidden interaction point.
5. Investigate it and check your task progress.

You do not need to defeat the Mist Lord or complete any unrelated main task.

After interacting with the hidden treasure, check the quest tracker immediately. If the route is clear, extracting successfully afterward is still the safest choice.

7. Complete Born of the Same Root

After investigating both treasures, return to the hub and speak with Twig again.

This unlocks the final task:

Finish the conversation with Twig to receive:

Hallowgrove Woodling - Head

The questline is now complete.

How to Equip the Hallowgrove Woodling Head

Open the Wardrobe in the hub and go to your Head appearance collection.

Select the Hallowgrove Woodling Head and equip it. The cosmetic gives your character a Woodling-style headpiece with a small sapling growing from the top.

It is only a cosmetic and does not provide combat stats. According to the item description, the appearance is visible to you and your teammates.

Common Problems

The Quest Did Not Start

Climbing the statue does not start the quest by itself. You must face the Divine Statue and use the Bow interaction.

The Legendary Item Did Not Count

Make sure Storytelling Props is unlocked, then confirm that you obtained Legendary-quality loot during the run and successfully extracted with it.

The Treasure Objective Did Not Update

Move close to the marked treasure, use the interaction prompt, and wait for the quest tracker to update before leaving the area.

Other Tasks Are Showing on the Map

Tasks such as Mist Lord’s Power are not part of this cosmetic questline. You do not need to defeat Mist Lord Otto to unlock the Hallowgrove Woodling Head.

Final Thoughts

The Hallowgrove Woodling Head is easy to miss because the quest begins with a hidden statue interaction. The main challenges are extracting with Legendary loot and reaching the Brandrgarde treasure safely. Once you have recovered both treasures, return to Twig to complete the quest, then equip the cosmetic from your Wardrobe.
