PoE 2 0.4 Beginner's Guide

The Last of the Druids

Path of Exile 2: The Last of the Druids is arriving! Tap into primal power by transforming into a wolf, a mighty bear, or even a blazing wyvern. Discover newly introduced Ascendancy Classes, experiment with a groundbreaking league feature that lets you design your own dungeon, and face an all‑new ultimate endgame boss!

New Class: The Druid

The Druid is a master of elemental magic and transformation. When the King in the Mists annihilated his kin, he abandoned his human nature and roamed the wilds of Ogham for years in beastly form. Now awakened from his long exile, he embarks on a quest to reunite with his missing wife and reclaim the humanity he once lost.

Shapeshifting - Wolf

With the aid of Animal Talismans—mystical weapons infused with Draiocht—the Druid can assume the form of beasts. Equipping one allows you to decide which creature's essence it embodies. The wolf, a predator of the night, draws lunar power into a storm of savage strikes. Swift and relentless, it lunges to chill enemies in place before tearing into them with razor‑sharp claws. As a dominant alpha, the wolf also commands a loyal pack to fight at its side.

1. Lunar Assault

Shapeshift into a Werewolf and swipe with your claws, projecting an arc of moonlight and ice forward in a crescent.

2. Cross Slash

Shapeshift into a Werewolf and leap backwards as you gouge the ground with both claws. Hitting a Marked enemy with both gouges will activate the Mark and cause an additional shockwave. Ice Fragments will be pulled into the location where the gouges cross and explode immediately. This Skill can be used while using other skills to interrupt them.

3. Lunar Blessing

Shapeshift into a Werewolf and offer your Rage to the moon to receive a blessing, gaining bonus Cold damage, Attack speed, and movement speed for yourself and any Wolf Minions you have from Wolf Pack or Predator's Mark. Spends all Rage to extend the Buff's duration. While the Buff is active, your Werewolf Attacks call down Moonbeams on Hit.

Shapeshifting - Bear

The bear embodies raw might and unstoppable force, tearing through foes with sheer brutality and destruction. As it crushes waves of enemies, it gathers Rage that fuels its strikes and thunderous roars, transforming it into a living catastrophe on the battlefield.

1. Furious Slam

Shapeshift into a Bear and slam the ground with great force, causing a pair of shockwaves. Can spend Rage to create larger shockwaves that leave behind Jagged Ground.

2. Ferocious Roar

Shapeshift into a Bear and roar in defiance, immediately gaining Rage if there are enemies nearby and empowering subsequent Attacks to Break Armour. Alternatively, socketing a human-form Warcry into this Skill triggers that Warcry instead, and augments its damage and area. This Skill's cooldown can be bypassed by expending an Endurance Charge.

3. Walking Calamity

While in Bear form, build Glory by gaining Rage while already at maximum Rage. When you have maximum Glory, roar to the heavens to bring them down upon your enemies. For the duration of the Skill and as long as you remain in Bear form, meteors rain down around you, and you gain Fire damage and Rage regeneration.

Shapeshifting - Wyvern

Rarely glimpsed in Wraeclast, the wyvern hurls itself into battle, rending foes apart with razor talons. Feeding on the fallen, it grows stronger, unleashing bursts of lightning and hurling blazing fireballs. And when it ascends into the skies, torrents of flame cascade down upon its enemies—befitting its true nature as a dragon.

1. Wing Blast

Shapeshift into a Wyvern and launch yourself backwards with a powerful wingbeat that Knocks Back enemies. Enemies Primed for Heavy Stun will be stunned, release a shockwave, and have a chance to grant you a Power Charge. This Skill can be used while using other skills to interrupt them.

2. Devour

Shapeshift into a Wyvern and devour a Corpse or Cullable enemy, and additional nearby Corpses. For each enemy or corpse devoured, you regenerate life and gain a Power Charge. If the target is far enough away, you will leap to them and damage nearby enemies where you land.

3. Oil Barrage

Shapeshift into a Wyvern and spit Oil at enemies, creating Oil Ground where the Projectiles land. Consumes Power Charges if possible, instead of channeling a sustained barrage of electrified Oil that does not create Oil Ground. Projectiles are fired in sequence, allowing multiple Projectiles to hit the same target.

4. Flame Breath

Shapeshift into a Wyvern and take to the skies, immolating enemies with a jet of fire. Channelling ends after a short amount of time, but can be prolonged by spending Rage. Consumes a Power Charge if possible to empower the Skill, gaining extra Lightning damage and spending Rage more slowly.

Unleash the Wrath of Nature

In his human guise, the Druid channels the primal forces of nature through enchanted staves. He can summon blazing volcanoes from beneath the earth, entangle foes with twisting roots, or unleash the fury of a raging thunderstorm. Many of these human‑form abilities persist over time, enhancing and supporting his transformations into beastly forms. As a master of magic, the Druid also gains access to a new Spell Totem ability—summoning a totem that autonomously casts any chosen spell for a limited duration.

1. Volcano

Uplift a volcano from the earth, damaging enemies standing on it and releasing a spray of molten Projectiles. While the volcano persists, slamming it will cause another Projectile spray. Channelling this Skill for longer makes the initial eruption more violent, but does not affect subsequent Projectile sprays.

2. Entangle

Conjures a rootbound fissure that crawls forward, damaging enemies in its path. While the fissure persists, vines lash out from it and attach to nearby enemies, damaging and slowing them.

3. Thunderstorm

Conjure a thunderstorm that causes lightning strikes and torrential rain in an area. Enemies in the area are Drenched, causing them to become shocked or Frozen more easily. Plants in the area become overgrown.

4. Spell Totem

Consume 3 Power or Endurance Charges to raise a Totem that uses socketed Spells. Cannot use Skills with Cooldowns.

Druid Ascendancies

The Last of the Druids Content Update introduces two Ascendancy Classes for the Druid.

1. Ascendancy: The Shaman

The Shaman channels nature's fury, harnessing Rage to empower his Spells and becoming a walking natural disaster raining down Meteors, Lightning, and Ice.

2. Ascendancy: The Oracle

The Oracle has perfected the power of Foresight, using it in combat to gain a massive advantage by peering into the future to predict a monster's movements and even allocate passives from alternate timelines!

Fate of the Vaal

1. Temple

Through the sacrifice of creatures across Wraeclast, you'll gather the power needed to reshape the Temple into the layout you desire. Positioning rooms strategically beside one another enhances their power, unlocking tougher encounters and richer rewards. The more beacons you complete, the more energy you gain to expand the Temple further. Every chamber holds valuable treasures—PoE 2 currency, gear, and unique surprises. With over a dozen room types, each filled with distinct monsters and loot, the league offers endless discoveries as you uncover new chambers and claim their spoils.

2. Corruption

Harness the dark force of Corruption through the specialized crafting methods found in Lira Vaal. Many of these creations can be carried back to your hideout as tradeable currency items in PoE 2, giving you lasting power beyond the Temple itself.

3. Royal Architect

Deep within the Temple lies the Royal Architect, sworn to defend his Queen at any cost. Confronting and defeating him not only secures rare rewards and advanced crafting options but also grants you the honor of a royal audience.

Hayoxi's Fulmination

Supported Curse Skills create areas that Curse enemies so long as they are within them. Cursed areas from Supported Skills gather power before erupting in a column of annihilating light after a moderate delay.

Guatelitzi's Ablation

Supported Offering Skills Sacrifice a portion of your life on use. While Offering spikes from Supported Skills persist, you are periodically granted a Power Charge. When spikes from Supported Skills die, Regenerate a percentage of your maximum Life and Mana per second based on the duration the Offering persisted.

4. New Gems

More than 30 fresh Support Gems, along with several new Lineage Supports, expand the possibilities for your builds. Whether it's Accelerated Growth, making your plants erupt in explosive bursts, or Tectonic Slams, adding extra cascading impacts to your strikes, every class will discover powerful new tools to enhance their playstyle.

Conclusion

Here is the ending of this PoE 2 0.4 beginner's guide. I hope this guide will help a lot in the coming new league on 12 December 2025. Please stay tuned on MmoGah to find more news about the new patch.
