This is a video guide to low-level money making guide for 2018. It contains 9 different low-level money making methods in RuneScape 3. The amount of RuneScape Gold per hour you can get from each of these methods depends on the time that you actually have to spend doing or focusing on it.

In order to do this, you need to set up a Bank preset, so please click YouTuber Moto’s video to learn how to set up a Bank preset (4:03-4:45 in the video). All the content of this article is quoted from his video:

1. Farming Herbs

Herbs per run: 30-75 (depends on how lucky you are)

RS3 gold per run: 150K-300K

XP per run: 1K-5K

Requirements: level 30+ Farming

The Herbs that make you the most money are unlocked at level 30 Farming. You can do a farming run once every 75-90 minutes depending on how long it takes to grow, and a farming run should only take you like 4-5 minutes to complete.

Some of the low-level Herbs actually make more money than some of the higher level herbs. So make sure to use this calculator to check which herb is the most profitable for you at your level before you do in this method.

Useful items

Juju Farming Potion

You can buy this on the Grand Exchange with your RS3 gold for 45K each. It is very expensive, but this gives you a 1/3 chance of picking twice the amount of herbs from a herb patch, so that means you can make more money from each farming run. It has 4 doses that will last you for 4 farming runs, so it is worth the investment.

Magic Secateurs

This provides 10% more yield when farming herbs.

Ardougne Cloak (2, 3, or 4)

You can get this by completing the Ardougne tasks (Medium/Hard/Elite), and this allows you to teleport straight to the Ardougne farming patch. If you don’t have this, you can just teleport to the Ardougne lodestone which is 2 second run from the farming patch.

Ectophial

This allows you to teleport to the Ectofungus which is relatively close to the farming patch around there.

Explorer's Ring (3 or 4)

This allows you to teleport to the Falador farm cabbage patch. If you don’t have this, you can just teleport to Port Sarim then run north.

It is recommended to start from the farming patch in Trollheim. Before you gather the herbs, make sure you take a sip of your Juju farming potion, and one sip lasts for about 6 minutes. Be sure to use the super compost on the herb patch and then plant a new seed. You’ll want to do this for the rest of the farming patches. It may take a bit longer if you don’t have teleports such as the Ectophial or Explorer's Ring, but it still only takes 5-6 minutes.

2. Cleaning Herbs

Herbs per hour: 5,500-6,000 (depends how focused you are on it)

RS3 gold per hour: 1M-2M (depends which herb you are cleaning)

XP per hour: 40K-80K

If you buy herbs on GE with your RS gold and clean them, it will be much faster and make you a lot more money. You should use this calculator to decide which herb is going to be the most profitable to clean at your level.

3. Making Potions (unf)

Potions per hour: 1,900-2,000

RSGP per hour: 1M-2M (depending on which unfinished potion that you make)

XP per hour: 2K

You can use the herbs you’ve just cleaned and put them into potions for even more profit. This is a calculator that shows you which is the best unfinished potion to make at your level.

Useful Items

Scroll of Cleansing

This gives you 12.5% chance that you will make a potion twice as fast and 10% chance of saving an ingredient when adding an herb to an unfinished potion.

Portable Well

This gives you 10% more Herblore XP gained when used and 5% chance of creating an extra potion.

You can either buy a clean herb from the Grand Exchange or use the clean herbs that you’ve just cleaned, and you’ll want to mix them together with a vial of water in order to make an unfinished potion. You need to make a bank preset for this, and the bank preset should contain 14 vials of water and 14 of the clean herb.

4. Making Cannonballs

Steel bars to use per hour: 550 (every steel bar can be made into 4 cannonballs)

RS3 gold per hour: 500K-900K

XP per hour: 15K-25K

Requirement: Level 35 Smithing

You need to complete the Dwarf Cannon quest in which you’ll get the Ammo mould which allows you to smith cannonballs.

Useful Item

Morytania legs 2

This allows you to smith cannonballs twice as fast in Port Phasmatys, which would make you 900K RSGP per hour. If you don’t have the Morytania legs 2 and you only use the furnace in Edgeville or Lumbridge, then you should only get 500K RSGP per hour.

You can also make a bank preset for this. Remember that you don’t need to carry the Ammo mold in your inventory, you can just put it on your tool belt and run to the furnace and start smithing cannonballs.

This method is very AFK, so if you have a relatively low Smithing level, this is a good method to earn some money whilst getting your Smithing level up.

5. Wine of Zamorak

Wines per hour: 90-100

RS3 gold per hour: 700K-800K

XP per hour: 4K-5K

Requirements: Level 33 Magic

Collecting Wine of Zamorak is a classic method. Level 33 Magic allows you to use the Telekinetic Grab spell which enables you to collect Wine of Zamorak from the Captured Temple which is located north of Falador.

The wine is on the table and what you need to do is using your Telekinetic Grab on the wine. Once the wine is collected, you just run east, past the little building to the south. As soon as you get past this little building, the monks will drop Aggro. Then you can just run straight back to the temple and wait for the wine to respawn and grab it again.

If you have access to the Magic ability surge, you can use that to get out of the temple and take as least damage as possible. If you have a low combat level, it is recommended to take some food here because the damage that the monks do to you may hurt you a little.

6. Casting Egg Spawn

RS3 gold per hour: 1.1M-1.2M

XP per hour: <1K

Requirements: Level 10 Summoning

You need a Spirit spider pouch and some Egg spawn scrolls which can be bought off GE.

All you need to do is summon your Spirit spider and use the familiar’s special ability.

It is recommended to use Area loot which you can turn on within the settings so that you can spam the scroll for a little while and then pick them up all at once.

You pick up the eggs until your inventory is full, then bank them and repeat. You should keep an eye on your familiar’s special move bar because every time you use the special ability, it goes down by 6 points, so you need to have some Summoning potions available in your inventory and drink them whenever you need to. If you don’t want to do this, you can use the Summoning obelisk to renew your familiar special move points.

7. Creating Egg Spawn Scrolls

RS3 gold per hour: 900K-1M

XP per hour: <1K

Requirements: Level 10 Summoning

You’ll need a bunch of Spirit spider pouches then you run back and forth from the Summoning obelisk in order to make the Egg spawn scrolls.

I recommend using the Summoning obelisk in Taverley because if you have a low level, you probably don’t have access to Spirit kyatt, but if you do, that is one I recommend over this one.

8. Tanning Leather

Leather per hour: 28,000

RS3 gold per hour: 3M+

Requirements: None

The amount of RS gold you’ll make per hour depends on which type of leather you create, this calculator shows you which leather will be the best to make. You’ll also need to check the prices on the Grand exchange because the market is very volatile.

Useful Item

Portable crafter

This lasts for 5 minutes, but it costs you a lot of RS gold, so if you don’t have one, there are some Friends chats such as “Portables” allow you to use this.

You can deploy your Portable crafter at the Bank in Lumbridge then you need to make a Bank preset (11:10-11:43 in the video) in order to do this effectively.

Make sure you have RS gold in your inventory because it does cost gold in order to make the Dragon leather, and Dragonhide is initially very expensive, so if you don’t have that much money to start off, this may not that effective. You may have to do quite a few runs from GE to here to buy and sell the Dragon leather and Dragonhide, but in the end, it may be worth it for you.

9. Making Planks

Planks per hour: 9,000

RS3 gold per hour: 2M+ (depends on the type of plank you make)

Requirements: None

This calculator shows you the best plank to make.

Useful Item

Portable Sawmill

This lasts for 5 minutes and gives you 10% lower cost when making a plank on the Portable sawmill. Click the video above to learn how to make a Bank preset (12:36-13:10).
