PoE 2023 Plans: Path of Exile 2, ExileCon, PoE 3.21, and PoE 3.22 Expansion

By Nancy G2023-02-03

As you know, 2023 is a big year for Path of Exile, ExileCon will be launched in July, and the beta date of Path of Exile 2 will be announced at the same time. GGG has a lot planned and would love to share some key dates with exiles.

Path of Exile 3.21 Expansion

GGG is currently planning to launch the next Path of Exile expansion in early April. As you may notice, this means that The Forbidden Sanctum league will be longer than normal. GGG is currently tinkering with some ideas, and GGG can do some fun, low-key things in the last month before the 3.21 release and will let you know how those ideas come up in the coming weeks.

GGG has chosen this date to ensure that 3.21 would get enough development time and that the release schedule for this year would match the release dates of ExileCon and other games.

Also, GGG is really excited about the popularity of The Forbidden Sanctum expansion and hopes to keep the positive momentum going in 2023 with the upcoming releases. Having more development time really helps with that.

GGG announced last year that ExileCon would be held in Auckland, New Zealand, from July 29th to 30th. This conference will showcase everything you need to know about Path of Exile 2, Path of Exile Mobile, and the Path of Exile 3.22 expansion. GGG has so much to share with you all!

Many of you have purchased conference tickets and are about to make travel plans, which brings us to the next topic.

Path of Exile's 3.22 Expansion

If you're coming to ExileCon and want to travel to New Zealand during the show, I generally advise you to travel before the show, not after. The reason for this is that GGG is currently planning to announce the 3.22 expansion at ExileCon, which will be released soon, probably in two weeks. (It is estimated that the 3.22 expansion will start in mid-August.)

You'll want to play 3.22, so it's best to leave New Zealand a few days after ExileCon. You'll then have plenty of time to go home and take care of your responsibilities before initiating full goblin mode.

GGG has put a lot of work into preparing for this year's Path of Exile 2. I can't wait to share it with you all!
