Collecting Splinters of the Prime Evils is an important part of progressing through Diablo 4 Season 15, but finding an efficient way to farm them isn't always straightforward. Some methods are better suited for early progression, while others offer faster farming opportunities for well-geared endgame characters.

In this guide, we'll explore three of the best ways to farm Splinters of the Prime Evils, with practical strategies to help you maximize your farming efficiency and get the materials you need.

What Are Splinters of the Prime Evils?

Splinters of the Prime Evils are three special items introduced in Diablo 4 Season 15: Season of Hell's Legacy. Each represents one of the three Prime Evils and is associated with a different seasonal power.

The three types are:

● Splinter of Terror: Associated with Diablo.

● Splinter of Hatred: Associated with Mephisto.

● Splinter of Destruction: Associated with Baal.

These Splinters have two important uses:

1. Choosing or Switching Prime Evil Powers

You can wield one Prime Evil Power at a time. Each power provides unique combat effects, seasonal reputation progression, and bonuses to specific endgame activities.

Obtaining another Splinter allows you to change your active Prime Evil Power. However, switching consumes the Splinter, so avoid using one accidentally.

2. Crafting Wirt's Lucky Coin

Combine one Splinter of Terror, one Splinter of Hatred, and one Splinter of Destruction in the Horadric Cube to creates Wirt's Lucky Coin. Take the coin to the fountain in Old Tristram to unlock the Echo of Tristram encounter, where you can challenge the Prime Evils and pursue the Hellfire Torch. This is one of the main reasons players repeatedly farm all three Splinters.

Note: Prime Evil Splinters are different from socketable Soul Splinters, such as Splinter of Anguish and Splinter of Lies, which provide equipment bonuses.

How to Farm Splinters of the Prime Evils

Method 1: Farm Helltides and Prime Evil Echoes

Helltides offer an accessible way to farm Prime Evil Splinters while earning seasonal reputation, equipment, and other rewards. The main objective is to trigger Prime Evil Echo ambushes by completing Whisper activities, particularly those rewarding five Grim Favors.

Before tackling higher Torment levels, make sure your gear is properly upgraded. Having enough Diablo 4 Gold can help cover enchanting, masterworking, and other equipment upgrade costs.

Pre-Farming Requirements

Difficulty: Torment XII is recommended, but it is not mandatory.

Cross-Play: Enable cross-network play to increase your chances of encountering active players.

Active Splinter: Make sure you have progressed far enough in the seasonal questline to activate a Prime Evil Power.

Inventory: Check which Splinters you already own. You can carry only one copy of each type.

Step-by-Step Helltide Farming

Step 1: Enter Helltide Early

Join a Helltide near the beginning of its cycle, when more players may be completing fresh Whisper objectives.

Look for areas with active players and available five-Grim-Favor objectives.

Step 2: Head to the Blood Maiden

Travel to the Blood Maiden summoning altar and activate the event when possible.

Blood Maiden is a useful target because defeating her can complete a five-Grim-Favor Whisper objective when that objective is active.

Step 3: Defeat the Blood Maiden

Work with nearby players to defeat her and complete the associated Whisper.

Watch for a Prime Evil Echo ambush after the objective finishes. If one appears, defeat the Echo for a chance to receive a Splinter.

Step 4: Try Switching Helltide Instances

After completing the event, teleport to town and return through your portal.

This may place you in another Helltide instance with players running a fresh Blood Maiden event.

However, changing instances is not guaranteed, and it has not been confirmed to bypass any personal Echo cooldown.

Step 5: Repeat the Farming Loop

Continue completing available five-Grim-Favor Whispers, joining Blood Maiden fights, and defeating Prime Evil Echoes whenever they appear.

Alternative: Farm Helltide Ruptures

If Blood Maiden activity is low, switch to Pandemonium Ruptures and other elite-heavy Helltide events. These activities can provide substantial seasonal reputation, helping you progress toward reward caches that may contain Prime Evil Splinters. Combining Rupture farming with available Whispers is an effective way to progress toward multiple rewards during the same Helltide.

Method 2: Farm Seasonal Reputation Caches

Seasonal reputation farming is another useful method, especially for players who are not yet strong enough to repeatedly clear high-difficulty Capstone Dungeons.

Each Prime Evil has a separate reputation track containing 24 ranks. Completing seasonal activities earns reputation and unlocks rewards, including caches that may contain Splinters.

How to Farm Reputation Efficiently

Step 1: Choose Your Prime Evil Power

Select the Prime Evil whose activity bonuses best support your preferred farming content. For example, Diablo's Prime Evil Power is particularly useful for players who regularly farm Helltides.

Step 2: Farm Elite-Dense Activities

Focus on activities that provide plenty of enemies and seasonal reputation.

Recommended options include:

● Helltide Ruptures with large groups of elite enemies.

● Waking Nightmare encounters.

● Nightmare Dungeons with efficient enemy density.

Helltide Ruptures are particularly useful because they allow you to earn reputation while pursuing Prime Evil Echo encounters.

Step 3: Claim Your Reputation Rewards

Open the seasonal reputation board and collect rewards as you unlock them.

Pay attention to the Mystery Greater Archetype Cache, which can provide an additional opportunity to obtain Splinters.

Step 4: Unlock Repeatable Reputation Caches

After completing the seasonal reputation track, you can continue earning reputation toward repeatable reward caches. Community reports suggest that each additional cache requires 50,000 reputation and may contain Prime Evil Splinters. However, Splinter drops are not guaranteed.

Important: The older Labyrinth Summoner clone farming trick, which involved repeatedly killing clones without defeating the boss, has reportedly been patched. Focus on regular reputation activities instead.

Method 3: Farm Prime Evil Capstone Dungeons

For well-geared endgame characters, repeatable Prime Evil Capstone Dungeons are generally the most direct way to farm Splinters.

Once you reach Torment X, the advanced Hell versions of these seasonal dungeons become available. Look for the red seasonal dungeon markers on your map to enter the correct versions. These encounters require no additional summoning materials and can be farmed repeatedly.

Baal

Although each dungeon is associated with a particular Prime Evil, community findings indicate that any of the three Splinters may drop from any of these bosses. Drops are not guaranteed, so multiple clears may be necessary.

Why Worldstone Keep Is the Best Farming Choice

Worldstone Keep (Hell) is particularly efficient because players with optimized builds and strong gear have reported completing Baal runs in just 2–4 minutes.

To farm efficiently:

1. Unlock the Hell version of Worldstone Keep in Fractured Peaks.

2. Enter with a build capable of handling its high-difficulty enemies.

3. Move quickly through the dungeon, avoiding unnecessary delays.

4. Defeat the Echo of Baal and collect your rewards.

5. Reset or re-enter the dungeon and repeat the process.

Since Baal can potentially drop all three types of Prime Evil Splinters, you can focus on farming Worldstone Keep instead of switching between different dungeons.

Which Splinter Farming Method Should You Choose?

If you're still progressing through Season 15, Helltides and seasonal reputation rewards are good places to start. For well-geared endgame characters, Worldstone Keep (Hell) is generally the better choice for repeated farming.

Ultimately, focus on the method your character can complete consistently and efficiently rather than spending too much time struggling with higher-difficulty content.
