The Midnight expansion has finally arrived, bringing a brand-new leveling journey from Level 80 to 90 along with fresh zones, systems, and endgame content. However, leveling in Midnight works a little differently compared to previous expansions. With multiple experience sources available, knowing what to do — and when to do it — can significantly speed up your progress. Kelani posted a video on his YouTube channel, covering the most effective strategies to help us level efficiently, avoid common mistakes, and prepare both our main character and alts for endgame as quickly as possible.

Before we start, we want you to know that MmoGah will be offering WoW Midnight Power Leveling services to help you quickly reach Level 90 just a few days after early access, making it easier to jump straight into raids, gearing, and endgame progression.

How to Level to 90 Fast in WoW Midnight — Tips & Tricks

Prepare Before You Start Leveling

Before heading into your leveling adventure, a bit of preparation can save hours of downtime later.

Clean Your Bags

You’ll collect a huge number of items while leveling. Starting with half-full bags means constant vendor trips and interruptions. Clear out unnecessary gear, consumables, and outdated items beforehand to maintain smooth progression.

Organize Your Quest Log

A cluttered quest log makes navigation frustrating and slows completion speed. Remove abandoned or outdated quests so you can easily track campaign objectives once Midnight begins.

Increase Movement Speed for Faster Leveling

One of the easiest ways to level faster is simply moving faster. Since leveling involves constant travel between objectives, stacking movement speed bonuses provides major time savings. Recommended upgrades include Scout’s March (Boot Enchant), Chant of Armored Speed (Bracers), and Chant of Burrowing Rapidity (Cloak). Together, these enchants can grant roughly 20% bonus movement speed. You can also push this further by socketing gear:

  • Equip an Elusive Blasphemite gem
  • Use one gem of each color (Amber, Emerald, Onyx, Ruby, Sapphire)

With six sockets added via jewelcrafting settings, you gain another 10% movement speed, dramatically improving leveling efficiency.

Focus on the Main Story Campaign

Your top priority should always be Main Story Campaign quests (marked with shield icons). These quests unlock new zones, provide better gear upgrades, award higher experience, and enable endgame systems. Side quests may seem tempting, but progressing the campaign first ensures you don’t block future content or waste travel time.

All players begin in Eversong Woods, after which the campaign branches into three major story paths - Arator’s Journey, Zul’Aman storyline, and Harandar storyline. Completing all three unlocks the final zone, Voidstorm. For efficiency, Zul’Aman is often the best first choice due to dense quest experience, while Harandar is ideal if you want early access to the Haranir Allied Race storyline.

Campaign Alone Won’t Reach Level 90

Testing shows that completing only the campaign typically leaves players around Level 88. Additional experience sources are required. But fortunately, finishing the campaign unlocks World Quests, Zone scaling, and Adventure Mode for alts. This opens several alternative leveling methods.

Delves and Dungeons: When to Run Them

Delves

Always pick up delve quests before entering. First-time completion rewards large experience bonuses, so running each delve at least once is highly recommended. Because rewards scale with level, consider saving quest turn-ins for higher levels if possible.

Dungeons

Follower Dungeons allow solo completion without grouping. Dungeon spam isn’t always efficient unless you have a coordinated group. However, the first random dungeon each day grants a large bonus, so running one daily dungeon is usually worthwhile.

Kill Rare Enemies

Rare mobs provide solid experience gains, valuable drops, and key shards used for maximizing delve rewards. If you encounter rares while questing, they are almost always worth killing.

Use Professions for Bonus Experience

Professions provide surprisingly strong leveling experience.

Gathering Professions

Mining and Herbalism grant XP whenever gathering nodes. Learn them early in Silvermoon and gather everything along your path.

Crafting Professions

Crafting grants experience from first-time recipe completion, including Profession Knowledge, Profession Moxie, and Large XP bonuses. Total profession XP equals roughly 1.5–2 levels, making it especially valuable near the end of leveling.

Avoid the Side Quest Trap

Since Warbands made renown account-wide, side quests now mainly need to be completed once per account. Because they reward significant reputation, it’s smart to delay them until bonuses are active — especially during the Darkmoon Faire, which provides +10% Experience and +10% Reputation gains. Saving one-time reputation activities for this event greatly improves efficiency.

Spend Your New Talent Points Wisely

While leveling to 90, you unlock 10 new talent points - 3 for the Class Tree, 3 for the Hero Talent Tree, and 4 for the Specialization Tree. Prioritize unlocking the powerful Apex talents at the bottom of your specialization tree, as these provide the biggest power increase while leveling.

Level One Character First

Complete the full campaign on your main character before touching alts. Doing so can let your alts unlock introduction skips, Adventure Mode, immediate World Quest access, zone freedom with level scaling. This dramatically accelerates alt leveling.

Stack Warband Experience Bonuses

Reaching Level 90 grants the Warband Mentor: Midnight achievement, increasing XP gains for other characters by 5% per max-level character, stacking up to 25%. Level characters one at a time to maximize this bonus and make later alts level extremely fast.

Don’t Forget Rested Experience

Log in to each alt after launch and park them in rested areas (cities or inns). Rested XP accumulation significantly reduces future leveling time.

Is War Mode Worth It?

War Mode grants +10% experience, but enables world PvP.

Pros: Faster XP gains

Cons

  • Possible player camping
  • Frequent deaths are slowing progress

If you prefer uninterrupted leveling, keeping War Mode off may actually be faster overall.

Final Thoughts

Leveling efficiently in World of Warcraft: Midnight isn’t about rushing blindly — it’s about timing activities correctly and prioritizing high-value experience sources. Follow these tips, and you’ll reach Level 90 quickly while setting up both your main character and alts for success in Midnight’s endgame.
