To help you fully unlock your Atlas in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5, this enhanced guide walks you through every major step—from the core questline to league mechanics and master missions. The goal is to give you a smooth, clear, and complete roadmap while naturally incorporating essential progression elements such as PoE 2 Orbs and efficient routing. Special thanks to Fubgun for the original video that inspired this guide.

The Two Main Atlas Progression Paths

1. Main Atlas Points — These apply globally to all maps, making them your highest priority.

2. League Mechanic Progression — Important, but optional to fully complete. Choose the mechanics you enjoy, or that synergize with your build.

How to Complete Your Main Atlas Points

Follow the Doryani Questline

1. Entering maps triggers the Doryani tower and the first major city area.

2. Each map you complete inside the city grants +1 Atlas point, making this zone the core of your main progression.

3. Your first major boss encounter will be the Arbiter of Ash, unlocked after clearing both the Western and Eastern Enigma Chambers.

4. Next, you’ll face the new pinnacle boss: Arbiter of Divinity, accessed through the Patriarch Halls behind the tower.

5. After defeating the Arbiter of Divinity for the first time, you’ll be allowed to fully complete one city section, instantly granting all Atlas points from that region. This will give you all the atlas points that those maps would've given you.

Two Ways to Finish Your Atlas

Option 1 — Complete Every City Map

Over 100 maps total. This will fully unlock your Atlas but is extremely time‑consuming. Viable, but not recommended.

Option 2 — Farm Additional Patriarch Halls

You must defeat the Arbiter of Divinity five times total (initial kill + four more).

This method is faster and naturally pushes you through the broader Atlas, letting you:

  • Discover new citadels
  • Unlock unique maps
  • Progress master questlines
  • Explore new regions

This is the recommended route for most players.

League Mechanic Questlines

Each mechanic unlocks its questline the first time you complete it inside a map.

Abyss — Completing your first Abyss reveals the main Abyss area. Clear its maps to finish the questline.

Expedition — the only unique one. It has its own endgame and always begins in the southeast ocean.

Others — straightforward: complete the mechanic once, follow the quest marker, and clear the maps.

Master Questlines

Each master has a clear progression path:

  • Doryani — Complete a Corrupted Nexus. Full completion requires 3 Nexuses + the Nexus boss.
  • Jado — Finish the four anomaly maps he assigns (e.g., Jade Island).
  • Hilda — she appears at the start of the Atlas and guides you directly.

These questlines naturally integrate into your Atlas progression, especially if you're following Option 2 above.

Conclusion

Unlocking your Atlas in Path of Exile 2 is a structured but rewarding journey. By following the Doryani questline, choosing the efficient progression path, and completing league and master missions, you’ll reach full Atlas completion without unnecessary grind. Along the way, smart use of PoE 2 Orbs will help you stay powerful enough to handle every challenge.
