Fishing in Diablo 4 is much easier when you know where to go. For the Dry Steppes fish collection, there are three reliable fishing spots, with The Ashen Tread being the best overall choice.

Most required fish, including some of the rarest catches, can be found there, and the full collection can be completed relatively quickly with a good route.

This guide covers the best Dry Steppes fishing spots, how to reach them, rare fish to look for, and useful tips for completing the collection efficiently.

Diablo 4 Dry Steppes Fishing Guide: How to Catch All Fish Fast

Best Fishing Spot: The Ashen Tread

The Ashen Tread is the best overall fishing spot in the Dry Steppes and should be your first choice.

Teleport to the Alzuuda Waypoint, then travel west toward the coast until you reach the beach near a Statue of Lilith.

Clear the nearby enemies before you start fishing. Once the area is safe, you can fish with very few interruptions, aside from the occasional Drowned enemy pulled from the water.

This spot can also produce some of the rarest Dry Steppes fish, including:

  • Giant Demonic Augur of Civo
  • Giant Spectral Augur of Civo

In the tested run, nearly the entire Dry Steppes collection was completed here. Results can vary due to RNG, but The Ashen Tread remains the most reliable place to start.

Alternative Fishing Spot: Wretched Strand

Wretched Strand is another good fishing location if you want an alternative to The Ashen Tread.

Teleport to Farobru and travel west until you reach the coastal area.

Clear the enemies around the fishing spot before starting. Once the area is safe, Wretched Strand becomes a quiet location where you can fish without frequent interruptions.

There is no need to move here immediately if The Ashen Tread is working well. Instead, use Wretched Strand when you want to change locations or continue searching for missing fish.

Alternative Fishing Spot: Norgoi Vigil

The third recommended location is Norgoi Vigil, southwest of Ked Bardu.

After reaching the area, head toward the lower section and clear all nearby enemies before fishing.

Once the area is cleared, Norgoi Vigil provides another relatively safe place for continuous fishing. Like Wretched Strand, it works best as a backup location rather than your main fishing spot.

Fishing and exploration can take time, especially when you are also upgrading gear, crafting, or preparing different builds. If you need extra resources for your character, you can buy Diablo 4 Gold to reduce farming time and focus more on completing your collection and other activities.

How to Catch All Dry Steppes Fish Faster

Fishing is affected by RNG, so there is no guaranteed completion time. However, a few simple strategies can make the process more efficient.

1. Start With The Ashen Tread

Do not switch fishing spots too quickly. The Ashen Tread can provide most of the regional collection, including rare fish, so spending more time there is usually more efficient than constantly traveling between locations.

2. Clear Enemies Before Fishing

Always clear nearby monsters before starting a long fishing session.

Repeated interruptions can slow down your progress, while a cleared area allows you to focus on fishing continuously.

3. Track Your Missing Fish

Keep a checklist of the fish you still need.

As your collection grows, tracking missing fish makes it easier to see what remains and prevents unnecessary fishing for catches you already have.

4. Expect Different Results

Fishing is RNG-based, so rare fish may appear quickly for some players and take longer for others.

For better efficiency, stay at reliable fishing spots and avoid changing locations too often.

Recommended Dry Steppes Fishing Route

For a simple and efficient route:

1. Teleport to Alzuuda.

2. Travel west to The Ashen Tread.

3. Clear the enemies around the beach.

4. Spend most of your fishing session there.

5. Check which fish are still missing.

6. If needed, teleport to Farobru and visit Wretched Strand.

7. Use Norgoi Vigil, southwest of Ked Bardu, as another backup spot.

8. Continue fishing until your Dry Steppes collection is complete.

This route minimizes unnecessary travel and lets you spend more time fishing at reliable locations.
