Season 3 of The War Within is just around the corner, making gearing up more important than ever. Wondering how to gear quickly? Well, SoulSoBreezy shared a guide on his YouTube channel, covering raiding, delves, Mythic+, and outdoor content. His guide first covers the key steps every player should take during the pre-season, then explores lane-specific gearing paths once the new season kicks off. Let's dive in.

WoW TWW 11.2 Season 3 Gearing Guide – Power Up your Character Efficiently

Pre-Season Preparation

Campaign Progression

Purpose: Completing the campaign awards Season 3 Explorer Track gear.

For mains: The gear may be too low level.

For alts: Great early upgrade option. Consider running the campaign on a less-geared alt to take full advantage.

Campaign Skip: Once completed on one character, a skip will be available for others, but they'll miss the Explorer gear and Valorstones.

The Reshii Wraps Cloak

  • Get the Reshii Wraps Cloak, which is unlocked after the campaign.
  • Account-wide progression: Once upgraded on one character, alts have access to the same cloak level (though each must apply the upgrades individually).
  • Upgrades come from delves, raids, dungeons, and warrant quests in K'aresh.
  • Cloak perks affect outdoor content only — not a massive player-power spike.

Stat Fibers:

  • Purchase basic ones from a nearby NPC.
  • Better versions are crafted by tailors (Renown 5 required).
  • Fibers can be swapped freely; only one per secondary stat is needed per character.

Outdoor Weeklies in Pre-Season

  • World quests still offer Coffer Key Shards — watch for these.
  • Coffer chests in pre-season give Adventurer gear and partial keys.

Crafting Considerations

  • No new gear recipes this patch.
  • Cloak slot is locked, so skip crafting a cloak.
  • Boots from the new raid have a perk that boosts Reshii Wraps proc rate.
  • Caster DPS/healer trinket + weapon combo from the raid may affect weapon crafting choices.
  • Weathered Crests can craft low-level Veteran-equivalent epics — only worth it if you're struggling for gear.

Pre-Season Gearing Path

  • World Boss – Guaranteed drop of Warbound Champion gear.
  • Mythic 0 Dungeons – Drop Champion-level gear. Six of eight dungeons are available; Tazavesh (mega-dungeon) arrives with the season start.
  • Heroics – For Adventurer track gear.
  • Dungeon Weekly Quest – Check for 11.2 reputation rewards.
  • Delves – Don't drop gear in pre-season, but unlock Hero track vault rewards the following week if you reach Tier 8+.

Season 3 Launch – Expanded Gearing Options

The Great Vault

Check this first in the week, but don't claim rewards immediately — see if tier pieces are available before committing.

PvP Gearing

  • Same as before: farm Honor gear and craft the new PvP sets.
  • Early quest will grant a high-level epic weapon — good throughput boost.

Outdoor Content

  • New Campaign Chapters – Unlocks the Ecological Succession feature and related weekly quest.
  • Special Assignment on K'aresh – Offers epic gear and a Coffer Key.
  • World Boss – Another shot at Warbound Champion gear.
  • Weekly Chests:
    • K'aresh: 2 Veteran chests.
    • Dornogal: 2–3 Veteran chests.
    • The first 2 chests give you Veteran gear, and the first 4 chests give you full Coffer Keys.
    • Focus on K'aresh chests first for transmog unlocks.
  • Older Zone Assignments – Now drop Adventurer gear + 50 Coffer Key Shards instead of Veteran gear.
  • Watch for world quests that award gear or Coffer Key Shards.

Early Heroic Crafting

While we've covered crafting earlier, there's an important note about Heroic Crest, which is available late in the Renown track.

  • Completing the campaign unlocks a quest to clear the raid for another Heroic Crest.
  • If you can't clear the raid early, Story Mode will open in Week 2 for anyone who's finished the campaign and will also count toward earning that crest.

Delve Changes and Progression

Delve progression hasn't changed mechanically, but the pace will feel slower.

  • Delver's Bounties now require reaching Node 2 on the Delve season track — 8,400 Delver's Journey Points.
  • We expect the 3,000-point weekly quest for your first delve to start in Week 1, but until then, it's a grind.
  • For maximum early gains, run Bountiful Delves across as many alts as possible until hitting this milestone.
  • Milestone 3: Clearing Tier 9+ delves unlocks a vendor selling Delve Trinkets (rotating daily).
  • Early Goal: Reach Milestone 2, get a Delver's Bounty, use it on a Tier 11 delve for Hero gear, and fill your vault up with Tier 8+ delve clears.
  • Gilded Crests reward: 21 from three Tier 11 Bountiful clears, plus 10 more if you use a bounty.
  • Delves are great for newer characters in the long term — especially for early trinket acquisition.

Mythic+ and Tazavesh Hard Mode

Mythic+ Progression (Same as before):

  • +6 Keys: Start earning Hero gear + Gilded Crests.
  • +10 Keys: Start earning Myth Track gear from the vault.

Tazavesh: The Veiled Market (Hard Mode Only)

  • Opens at Season 3 launch — no attunement or special item required.
  • Recommended item level: 707. Drops Hero gear, but counts as a +10 completion for vault Myth Track rewards.
  • Great option for fast gearing if you can reliably clear it.
  • Possible strategies: Farm full clears for vault credit and clear only early bosses for quick gear snipes.

Raid Progression

Structure

  • Manaforge Omega includes a 15-level raid renown track (down from 20 in Undermined).
  • Track includes raid trash nerfs for faster clears in future runs.
  • First raid wing launches with three bosses, with tier tokens for legs and gloves.

Key Notes

  • Catalyst feature: Expected in Week 1, granting a new global charge every other week.
  • Reshii Wraps boots: Currently raid-only.

Valorstone Management

Upgrade Strategy (Same as Season 2)

  • Only upgrade Champion-level gear or higher with Runed Crests or above.
  • Ignore the first rule if you're about to cap Valorstones.
  • This conserves resources, as crest caps limit upgrades anyway.
  • Once you no longer need a certain crest, trade up to higher crests.

Summary: Early-Season Action Plan

Pre-Season Checklist

  • Complete the campaign and unlock the Reshii Wraps.
  • Watch for a Tailor unlocking the Fiber recipe early.
  • Kill the World Boss for guaranteed Champion gear.
  • Clear Delves to Tier 8 and run eight of them for full vault options.
  • Push Mythic 0s for Champion gear; run two more for full vault options.
  • Farm Coffer Keys from world quests/weeklies.

Season Start Checklist

  • Craft a PvP weapon if the PvP quest is available.
  • Check the Great Vault before claiming rewards (look for tier pieces).
  • Clear Raid Finder Wing 1 for tier/veteran gear.
  • Complete K'aresh and Dornogal weeklies for veteran gear and Coffer Keys.
  • Run legacy outdoor activities until Coffer Key Shards stop dropping.
  • Slam Tier 8 delves and spend Bountiful Keys for quick Champion gear.
  • Push for Delver's Bounty unlock; clear a Tier 11 for maximum Gilded Crests.
  • Choose your endgame focus: Delves, Mythic+, Raids, or a mix.

Long-Term Routine

  • Gradually shift focus from Veteran track to Champion/Hero/Myth track content.
  • Use Tazavesh for early Myth Track vault credit.
  • Let alts trail slightly behind your main to benefit from crest discounts.
  • Conserve Valorstones for high-value upgrades.

With these strategies, you'll hit your gearing milestones faster, conserve resources, and stay ahead of the curve in Season 3 of The War Within. Good luck and have fun!
