The eagerly awaited update 49 of The Elder Scrolls Online is bringing significant changes to the Dragonknight class, and it's time to get ready for the upcoming "giga buff." If you're a Dragonknight player or planning to dive into this class, now is the perfect opportunity to prepare your character for the upcoming update that is set to launch on March 9th. In this video, YouTuber SekaarESO covers everything you need to know about optimizing your Dragonknight build, including the best mythics, gear sets, and preparation tips.

Mythics: Essential Choices for Your Dragonknight

Mythic items are a cornerstone of any strong build, and Dragonknight is no exception. Below are the top mythic items that will elevate your Dragonknight's performance in both PvP and PvE settings.

Monomyth Reforged

Monomyth Reforged is arguably the best Mythic item in the game right now and a must-have for any Dragonknight build. When equipped, Monmoth provides Major Force and Minor Berserk on your front bar, significantly boosting your critical damage and overall DPS. On the back bar, it grants Major Protection, enhancing your survivability. This balance of offensive and defensive buffs makes Monomyth Reforged a reliable option for all scenarios.

Pro Tip: If you don't already own Monomyth Reforged, now is an excellent time to farm it. Use this downtime before the update to grind for Mythic leads.

Markyn Ring of Majesty

Markyn Ring of Majesty is another top-tier mythic that offers a mix of damage and resistances. It grants 100 Weapon and Spell Damage and 1,157 Armor for each three-piece set you're wearing. With most builds utilizing two three-piece sets, you'll gain an additional 200 Weapon and Spell Damage and 2,300 Armor. This combination makes Markyn Ring of Majesty a versatile choice for both offense and defense.

The Saint and the Seducer

For those looking for a dynamic playstyle, The Saint and the Seducer is a solid option. It grants one of five random Major buffs every 10 seconds while applying corresponding Minor debuffs to enemies within 12 meters. While not as consistent as Monomyth or Markyn, The Saint and the Seducer r can provide situational advantages in combat.

Death Dealer's Fate

Although powerful, Death Dealer's Fate is less practical due to its acquisition process, which requires completing Dragonstar Arena—a challenging task. This Mythic item increases your Max Health, Magicka, and Stamina by up to 2,600 through stack generation. While the resource boost is valuable, it may not align with the current meta's focus on recovery and max stats.

Gear Sets: Optimizing Your Loadout

Selecting the right gear sets is crucial for maximizing your Dragonknight's potential. Below are some of the best options for both front bar and back bar setups.

Front Bar Set: Pyrebrand

Pyrebrand stands out as the best front bar set for Dragonknight. Each light attack applies a six-second damage-over-time (DoT) effect on enemies, which stacks to increase damage output. This set synergizes exceptionally well with Dragonknight's skill set, ensuring consistent pressure on enemies.

How to Obtain: To acquire this set, you must farm it from the Infinite Archive. It is crucial to grind this content on a Dragonknight character to ensure the appropriate set drops, as the loot corresponds to the class being used. The recommended strategy involves repeatedly completing arcs one and two before resetting, as progressing further yields diminishing returns in terms of efficiency. You can also purchase curated items from merchants within the Infinite Archive, though unidentified Pyrebrand items are a more cost-effective option early in the grind. Investing in unidentified items allows for the gradual collection of unique pieces without overspending on curated items. As progress is made and the collection nears completion, transitioning to curated purchases may become more viable.

Monster Set: Bloodspawn

When it comes to Monster sets, Bloodspawn is the undisputed champion for Dragonknights. This set has been a staple for over a decade due to its unmatched synergy with the class. Bloodspawn provides ultimate generation and resistance boosts, making it an essential choice for both offense and defense.

How to Obtain: Bloodspawn drops from the Spindleclutch II dungeon on Veteran difficulty. This dungeon is relatively easy to complete with a group, so don't hesitate to ask for help if needed.

Back Bar Sets

For your back bar setup, consider one of these three options:

1. Daedric Trickery

This crafted set offers random Major buffs (such as Major Expedition, Major Protection, or Major Mending) every 9 seconds when you deal damage. It's an excellent choice for enhancing survivability and utility.

How to Obtain: This is a crafted set. If you don't have access to crafting stations, ask fellow players or Guildmates to craft the Daedric Trickery set for you.

2. Rallying Cry

Ideal for PvP scenarios, this set provides 1,650 Critical Resistance and up to 300 Weapon and Spell Damage when you critically heal while Battle Spirit is active (e.g., in Battlegrounds or Cyrodiil). It's particularly effective against crit-heavy opponents.

3. Wretched Vitality

Another crafted set, Wretched Vitality, focuses on sustain by granting 400 Stamina and Magicka recovery under specific conditions. While it may not be as necessary after the upcoming patch buffs Dragonknight sustain, it remains a solid choice for players who prioritize resource management.

Additional Tips for Preparation

To ensure your Dragonknight is ready for action on March 9th, follow these preparation tips:

Daily Mount Upgrades

Visit your local Stable Master every day to upgrade your mount's Speed or Stamina. This simple habit will make traversing the game world faster and more efficient over time.

Daily Battlegrounds

Participate in daily Battlegrounds to earn significant experience points. Remember, you must win the match to receive the XP bonus, so bring your A-game!

Random Dungeons

Completing a random normal dungeon daily rewards you with bonus XP and skill points (if it's your first time completing that dungeon). To reduce queue times, consider queuing as a tank or healer—normal dungeons are generally forgiving enough that you can manage even without specialized gear.

Wrapping Up

The upcoming Dragonknight update on March 9th promises exciting changes that will enhance this already powerful class. By preparing ahead of time with optimized mythics, gear sets like Pyrebrand and Bloodspawn, and efficient leveling strategies, you'll be ready to dominate in both PvP and PvE content as soon as the update goes live.
