In this guide, MmoGah would like to show you how to solo farm a level 66 named boss. He's situated in the Imperial Palace and called Prince Goroto! This is a great way to increase your gear score, gypsum or expertise since this boss can drop up to 600 gear score equipment.
He is basically a thicker version of the sword and shield palace warrior. Due to his mechanics, he's very easily controllable and can easily be defeated solo. The goal is that you bait him over to this corner and keep hitting him so that he stays in the corner.
Where to Find Goroto
We start at Death, then go to this location (as shown below).
You keep running until you reach the beach, then run along the beach until you reach a set of stairs. Place a campfire just for safety measures, then run up the stairs, past all the guards and keep on running. Then you'll go to the left, down stairs, up the next set of stairs, run straight through all the mobs, climb on top of the wall and hide behind the building (You can click the link to view Thy Floky's video since there is an intuitive path in the video, and the content of this article also comes from him). Now you basically just have to wait for the Musketeer players to come over. They want the aggro and you need to defeat them. You should be safe here with the exception of one Palace Musketeer that keeps on spawning, and you'll just have to take care of him now and then.
How to Beat Goroto Solo
Now to the part of how to separate Prince Goroto from his minions, basically, what you need to do is shoot at him with anything, and I use the Hatchet. You wait for the right opportunity to bait him over by himself. This will take a few tries, usually, it takes me up to one minute to get this right, but it's nothing too complicated. Basically, Grotto has to be retreating before his minions so that he's back in a position where he can get aggroed while his minions are still retreating. What you will want to do is to aggro Prince Goroto before his minions are back into the initial position.
Then I'll tell you how to counter all of his mechanics. While he's stuck in this corner (as shown in the figure above), he will only be able to use his weird jump attack. For this attack, you basically just have to dodge it. The thing that makes this fight so easy is that you can break through his shield with one simple heavy attack, and after you break through his shield, he is staggered and unable to defend himself for a short amount of time, and that's where you'll want to do your damage and apply your debuffs.
If you're using the Spear, you can also use the vault kick to break through his defence just as well. Sometimes it happens that he jumps over your head and is behind you, and you become the one in the corner, but no worries, you can just hit him and push him into other corners, it works just as well. Now it isn't all easy peasy because it takes you about six to eight minutes to defeat Goroto, but the pesky musketeer mentioned earlier takes about five minutes to respawn, meaning there will come a time where you'll have to fight Goroto and that musketeer at the same time. And this is where you'll have to dance around both of the attacks until you manage to defeat the palace musketeer.
For this situation, I prefer using the Hatchet since I get some healing through Berserker. Then don't be scared from 10 times fighting this guy.
I've only died once, so it's not as hard as it sounds. Once that musketeer is defeated, the only thing left to do now is to defeat Goroto and claim your loot.
Infos and Recommendations
As mentioned before, Goroto takes about six to eight minutes to defeat and is on a cooldown of six minutes. Now to my recommendations, Goroto is a corrupted enemy type, and he's weak against Pierce Attacks and Arcane Damage. Therefore, I recommend that you use a Spear or a Rapier with an Arcane Damage converter stone and with a Corrupted Bane perk. Weapons like Empowered Primeval Spear of the Soldier go for around 200 New World Gold on my server. These are the skills I personally use.
The most important one is Perforate because it applies three stacks of rend debuff, and vault kick for its shield breakthrough ability and it gives you the empower buff. These are the attributes I expect. They are nothing special and could probably be optimized upon.
Finally, two more great ways of increasing your damage are by using a Corrupted Coating and a Whetstone. And that's all, I wish you a lot of fun farming this Prince.
