In Borderlands 4, the Drill Sites in the Terminus Range are some of the most valuable farming locations players can access. Among them, one of the most rewarding spots is the Meathead Riders, led by the boss Immortal Bone Face. Despite his intimidating name, this boss is far from powerful—yet he drops three extremely strong BL4 legendary items: Lucian’s Flank (Assault Rifle), War Paint (Rep Kit), and Hellwalker (Shotgun).

This guide will walk you through the route, boss mechanics, drop pool logic, item attributes, important buffs, and real combat performance—helping you farm the highest-value gear in the shortest time possible.

Borderlands 4: Meathead Riders Legendary Boss Drop Guide

How to Find the Meathead Riders (Immortal Bone Face)

To reach this Drill Site, start from The Silo – The Relinquary and head southeast toward the icon labeled “Meat Riders Drill Site.” If this is your first time in the area, the Drill Site icon may not appear on your map. In that case, look for a massive pile of bones, which is extremely easy to spot. Follow the path toward it and you’ll arrive at the Drill Site. A major advantage here is that the nearest Safe House is extremely close, allowing you to reach the site within seconds.

Boss Overview: Immortal Bone Face & Difficulty

Although the name “Immortal Bone Face” sounds intimidating, he is actually one of the weakest, helping you farm top-value gear as efficiently as possible, Drill Site bosses. The true challenge comes from clearing the mobs before the boss appears. Enemy groups can be dense, but once you enter the boss fight itself, Bone Face becomes especially fragile in his second phase and can be taken down very quickly. Additionally, you don’t need to fight on higher difficulties (like Ultimate 5) to receive his full drop pool. Lower difficulty offers the exact same loot, making this an ideal spot for easy farming.

Full Drop Breakdown (3 Legendary Items)

1. Lucian’s Flank (Vladof Legendary Assault Rifle)

Returning from Borderlands 3—previously known as Lucian’s Call—this weapon returns in BL4 with a new name, Lucian’s Flank. It is a high-fire-rate assault rifle that restores ammo through critical hits.

Key Stats (Example Values)

● DPS: 5453 (varies by roll)

● Damage: 646

● Accuracy: 78%

● Reload: 2.4s

● Fire Rate: 11.5/s

● Magazine: 76

● Can roll any element, but never non-elemental

Special Effect (Gold Text)

● “Trample” — Critical hits return up to 2 ammo to the magazine. Lucian’s Flank also features a secondary barrel mode that increases fire rate, along with a Jakobs-style ricochet, causing crit shots to bounce to nearby targets.

Combat Performance

Even without action skills, this weapon can shred mobs with ease. Switching to the dual-barrel mode boosts damage output even further, though it burns through ammo more quickly. The weapon’s biggest strength: If you land crits consistently, you’ll rarely run out of ammo.

2. War Paint (Legendary Rep Kit)

War Paint is one of the strongest, most universal Rep Kits in the game, offering boosts to both firepower and mobility—making it a “one-size-fits-all” solution for many builds.

Gold Text Effect

When used, grants:

● +30% Fire Rate for 15 sec

● +30% Movement Speed for 15 sec

● Cooldown reduced by 2 seconds every time you take damage

This means that the more time you spend on the front line, the faster this kit refreshes, allowing you to maintain your buffs almost constantly.

Example Stats

● Total Healing: 7,733

● Instant Heal: 3,867

● Heal-over-time: 3,867 over 15 sec

● Cooldown: 50 sec (shortened heavily by the passive)

Possible Bonus Mods

● Tank — reduces damage taken

● Enrage — increases offensive power

● Amp — enhances your next attack (great for snipers/launchers)

Combat Performance

Fire rate increases are instantly noticeable, and pairing War Paint with high-speed weapons like Lucian’s Flank produces exceptional DPS. Because the cooldown shortens whenever you take damage, you can re-activate it frequently. A universally strong Rep Kit suitable for every class and every build.

3. Hellwalker (Legendary Fire Shotgun)

The fan-favorite Hellwalker from BL3 makes a powerful return in BL4, keeping all of its iconic traits—its satisfying firing feel, electric guitar sound effect, pentagram shot pattern, and devastating burst damage.

Key Stats (Example Values)

● DPS: 10,134 (excellent)

● Damage: 1336 × 10

● Accuracy: 53%

● Reload: 8s

● Fire Rate: 2/s

● Ammo: 2

● Element: Always Fire

Special Effects

● Plays an electric guitar riff when fired

● Shoots in a pentagram pattern

● Jakobs mechanic: crits ricochet to nearby enemies

● Red text: “A piece of the moon hung in the sky like a polished bone.”

Combat Performance

● Surprisingly accurate at mid-range

● Ricochet projectiles enable chain kills

● Extremely high burst damage

● Perfect for deleting elites or clearing tight rooms

Whether it fits into your current build will vary, but it is absolutely worth farming and testing.

Overall, the Meathead Riders Drill Site is an easy, high-value farm that every player should take advantage of. Immortal Bone Face drops three powerful legendaries—Lucian’s Flank, War Paint, and Hellwalker—each strong enough to enhance or even define a full build. Fast to reach, simple to clear, and consistently rewarding, this spot is one of the best places to farm top-tier gear in Borderlands 4. If you’re looking for quick, reliable legendary farming in Borderlands 4, this Drill Site should be at the top of your list.
